When we put the address in our GPS, it brought us to a dirt road in the woods no houses around. Our first thought we were being scammed then we thought this is gotta be closer to the water.. so we looked up on the map where it should be, and finally found the place. upon arriving, there was piles of trash all over the yard and thousands of spiders everywhere on the front of our house we couldn’t even open the windows. Spiders were coming in. The house was so sparse. There wasn’t even a chair for an older person to sit in the living room. there wasn’t even a can opener, no cutting board no large knife to do any kind of meal prep. The bedrooms were so sparse. There wasn’t even a lamp so once you shut your light off, there was no way for you to even see to get to your bed . With the trash situation outside and the animals coming at night, we never felt safe, leaving and going down to the lake at dusk to sit by the lake or even leave in the evening to go come back after dark. We had no idea what kind of animals were in that trash could’ve been a bear or something else ripping that trash apart it’s very sad to pay this kind of money and have such a poor experience. I can say when I called the number the people that tried to help us were very kind, but what could they do? They were in another country Indonesia I would not recommend staying here if you worry about animals coming in the night and you don’t like spiders.

LOVELY view. No sheets for trundle bed and couldn't find a broom to sweep the floor. There was a dustpan, but no broom. Would have been nice to have another roll of paper towels, we bought one ourselves. It looked like an animal got into the trash and made a mess, it was there before we arrived and ended up being there the whole time.

It was very clean, plenty of space, and an absolutely amazing view ! Great little fire pit and chairs. The driveway could be marked for easier view since the GPS does not take you exactly to the house. The kayaks were in the garage but there were no instructions to access them. Other than that it was a great stay!

The piece of property was on a scenic setting that was very appealing as advertised. However, sadly when my family and I arrived we were shocked and mortified to see the infestation of spiders that covered the entire porch and front door, making it impossible to enter and use! My grandchildren wanted to use the kayaks on day one. Unfortunately, they were not obtainable as they were locked in the garage. There was no mention of other keys/door codes in the RedAwning instructions. When I reached out to Vrbo I was advised that there was an electrical key-box outside for the garage. Vrbo provided the wrong code. I had to wait about 4-6 hours to receive the correct code. Once I got into the keybox and got the keys I was able to open the padlock to the garage door, but the door handle key to the door did not work. Please see video. I reached out to Vrbo several times concerning this issue, but the remaining of our stay I never heard back from Vrbo or RedAwning! My family and I were unable to use the kayaksAlso, the safety issues that we ran into with the smoke alarms not being activated due to the owners during our vacation, which let down my grandchildren. Many other issues, but I am unable to fit into this space. An email sent to both Vrbo/RedAwning. Pending response and partial refund.

The house, although clean, was sparsely furnished. The kitchen lacked some essentials (can opener, bottle opener, wine bottle opener). We had to live out of our suitcases because there were no dressers in the bedrooms. Be careful as you enter and exit the front door. The spiders covered the doorway with webs every time we tried to go in and out.

VIEW IS BEAUTIFUL! The property is private and convenient to visit Mackinac Island. GPS will not take you to the house address. And the GPS coordinates will not take you there either. Get directions ahead of time. The house states it will sleep 10. There was a missing mattress & we assume the couch counts towards the 10 people. There were not enough towels for the 9 people we had. The house smells of mildew. And the AC unit is too small for the house. It was 90degrees when we stayed and the house stayed at 78 and would not cool down.

We had a great time during our stay in the Northern Michigan area. The views from the property were AMAZING looking directly out at Mackinac Island and the bridge. The interior of the house was very clean but could have had a few less spiders on the front porch. I know in the summer they come and invade quickly so hopefully the management company takes care of it in short order. We were disappointed in that we never got access to the kayaks that were supposed to be available. They were locked in the shed. I sent messages daily to the management team but mostly got AI generated responses and never got the issue resolved. The kitchen was minimally stocked. It was not a major issue for us as I avoid cooking when on vacation, but for those that want to cook it will be difficult to do much. From a bathroom perspective, there are 2 bathrooms both have a tub and shower. Overall we would stay again, but would hope for better and more productive responses from property management and not a virtual AI assistant rephrasing my questions with unsatisfactory answers.

Incredible views

The location of the property and views are second to none. The house was modern, clean, and right on the water. Just a stone's throw to the water, with views of the Mackinac Bridge and Mackinac Island. The house is just minutes from amenities, restaurants, and the ferry to the island. The beds were comfortable, and it was nice to have laundry facilities.

This property is like-new...clean and well maintained. Lake access and view of Mackinac Island and Mackinaw bridge are amazing! However, RENTERS BEWARE OF DECEPTIVE LISTING. It has been 5 days since we attempted to contact the property manager, Red Awning, and eventually VRBO with no corrections made at the time of this review. The description continues to claim that this property sleeps 10, with 3 bathrooms and 5 beds. The truth is there are only 2 bathrooms and only 4 beds - enough for 7 people, NOT 10 (unless you plan to fit 3 people on a sectional couch that does not open into a bed). We rented this property intending to accommodate 3 separate married couples with the assumption that we would each have our own bathroom. Very disappointing.Also, the address link on the check-in instructions took us to a vacant wooded lot across the highway. We thought we had been completely scammed until we found the property on the other side of the highway by the lake.

Highly recommend

Great place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone. Right on the lake and fairly secluded. Clean and everything seemed new. I only a couple minor concerns.1. Google maps takes you to the wrong sode of the road. This is not the owners fault but I think an issue woth google maps location.2. Llighting in the house was limited to eaither super bright or no lights. This is more of a personnel prfrnace, I like lights then can make a room dimmer in the evenings. But if thats not your thing, then this would be great.Other then that my family and I loved it!!!

Great potential, but needs a few things.

Getting to the property and getting on to the property was stressful. Do NOT follow Google map directions! The property is off to the right of 23 coming in from the south. Google takes you to the other side of 23. The hosts need to add detailed instructions to get there. The property location is lovely with a great deck! There is a wonderful view of Lake Huron and Mackinac Island, and you can see the bridge. Located 10 minutes from the ferry. The house was VERY clean and linens, etc. were very nice. Lots of midge flies, bring repellent. Inaccurate description: advertised 3 bathrooms - only two. Queen and two twins bedroom had no mattress on the trundle twin. Realizing it's new, there needs to be more furniture - a couple more chairs in the living room and end tables in the bedrooms - no place to lay a cell phone or alarm, etc. Lots of closet space! Unfortunately, we were sent the wrong code for the lock-box to the property gate. It took one and a half hours to get it. After many texts and emails (could not reach a person by calling), after an hour and a half, I was sent the correct code (reverse order of the one sent to me). Luckily, I had email capability - some might not. By then, we had carried all our luggage down to the house. Bad start.... I would not say to let this keep you from going to this place. Just be aware. After the initial problems, the stay was good. It IS a lovely property. We enjoyed our stay after the initial problems.
