Really nice and clean accommodations. Not a great fan of uncovered windows but I understand that is the Vermont way. No television upstairs, thankful I brought my iPad. I stayed here alone so I didn’t feel super safe because the windows didn’t lock and no curtains. But overall really cute nice place

The perfect destination for a quiet and relaxing getaway. Cozy inside, wonderful working kitchen, comfy beds, plenty of living space, all immaculate. Outside grounds were breathtaking! Lucious gardens and greenery. Like being in another world. Highly recommended!

This hidden gem was perfect for me and my husband. Every detail had been attended to, and the home is lovely. We loved being away from the crowds, yet close enough to visit all the local towns. When we return to this area, we will definitely book this home.

Beautiful Cottage

Charming cottage with great ambiance. We needed to be close to the lake so we could see our kids who have a cabin there. The house is perfect and we really enjoyed the stay.

We loved the cottage!

We really enjoyed everything about our stay at this cottage. We spent our anniversary there, we were comfortable, and had everything we needed. We made numerous visits to the General Store down the road and the pancakes were delicious! Woodstock was beautiful this time of year and we were delighted to see fresh snow several days we were there. Kevin and Sarah are wonderful hosts! We will certainly stay in the cottage again if we venture back that way in the future.

A+ Stay

This house is wonderful! Warm, clean, and full of light. Beds are comfy, kitchen is great, radiant floor heat is luxurious. Owners Kevin and Sarah are very generous and helpful! I will recommend this place to all my friends and family - but (selfishly) I also want it to be available for when I want to return. I love being here. Thanks, Kevin and Sarah - this house is very special~

This is a charming farm house, with lots of flowers around the outside doors, and outside shower. The host was very easy to connect with, and left us some jam and sour dough bread to enjoy during our visit. The rooms are as pictured on the VRBO site, but we both bumped our heads a few times on the slanted ceilings upstairs. Some things need a little maintenance -- the water faucets have accumulated deposits on the screens which make the water spritz out unexpectedly. The water and ice dispensers in the fridge sometimes got stuck so they did not turn off without dumping some ice or water on the floor. It works OK if you clean out the ice in the door, and if you do not try to fill a short glass for water. The Barnard General Store is less than 5 minutes away, which is very convenient. It has prepared foods, as well as groceries. The Village Market in Woodstock is a bigger grocery store, and has a very good selection.

What a Great Little House!

Just a fantastic place for a winter getaway in the Vermont woods. Kevin and Sarah are wonderful and thoughtful hosts who have addressed every detail. My stay coincided with some wintry weather down to -5 F with wind and snow, but I was cozy and comfortable with the radiant heat floor, the well-equipped kitchen, smart TV, a luxurious queen bed, and great bathrooms with thick towels and plenty of hot water (not to mention the clawfoot tub!). The location is great for access to Silver Lake for ice fishing and the surrounding forest for cross country skiing. The Barnard General Store is 5 mins away with everything you need and is just an institution- hasn’t changed a bit since I first visited in 1990. A really fun and beautiful place to stay. 10/10 highly recommended!!!

Terrific spot and well equipped with necessities and a few special extras. My only problem was the listing on N street in Barnard. GPS did not recognize the site and we had some anxious times figuring out the N stood for North. Please change the address in the VRBO system

Beautiful, spacious and comfortable home.

The Barnard home is peaceful, beautiful, and quiet. The delicious gardens attract humming birds and butterflies. It is beautifully sited so there is almost always light flowing in, as well as great ventilation, even on hot days. Very, very clean. The downstairs terra cotta floor retains cold in the summer, and I think there is heat under that floor during the winter. Love the area - moments from Silver Lake, and not far from spectacular swimming holes on the White River.

Nice little cottage for a family gateaway

Thank you Sarah for sharing this nice little house for our skiing trip. It's very unique and appealing. Thank you for taking care of snow removal after the snow storm. We had great experience and very manageable drive to Killington ski area. (advise to all who rent this house for Killington skiing - Skyship Gondola Lodge is the closest to the house, takes about 25 min)

Cozy cabin in Barnard

We had a lovely stay over a long weekend. The cabin very clean and comfortable. It’s in a pretty spot in the mountains, up the road from the Barnard General Store. Easy access to Woodstock. Sarah and Kevin were great hosts and very responsive and easy to work with. It was great for our small family of 3, would definitely return!

Had an amazing time at this property! First time visiting Vermont and Killington and this property did not disappoint! Would definitely come back here, easy drive, safe location, wonderful layout of both floors!

Perfect stay

House is wonderful, in a great location for visiting surrounding areas. It was very roomy and spotless with a beautiful front garden and porch where we sat and read, enjoying the cool summer air. Great communications with Sarah and Kevin - super nice, welcoming hosts. Highly recommend!

Perfect weekend away

We had a great weekend. The house was in clean condition with everything the two of us needed. We enjoyed a meal cooked in and one at our favorite spot, Worthy Burger, just a short drive away, as well as some hiking and running on local trails. We are only sad the weather was not amenable to using the outdoor shower! Thanks for a great stay.

Our stay at the cottage in Barnard

We had a *lovely* time staying at Sarah and Kevin's cottage. Very cozy and warm spot in a great part of VT. S + K provided helpful detailed instructions re. access and were all around very accommodating, responsive, and welcoming. Would definitely recommend!

Winter Basecamp

House is exactly as advertised. Open floor plan and secluded. My parents and I used it while snowmobiling for a long weekend (no direct trail access). It fits 3 people perfectly. Very clean, minimal amount of stuff in the house, but needed nothing extra.
