Enjoy the water traffic on the C&D Canal along with the multitude of wildlife living in the area. Launch your kayak, canoe or row boat from the boat ramp, or store your jet ski or boat on the boat lifts. Relax here in the evenings while spending the day visiting the University of Delaware or other local Cecil County venues.

Tidal beach is private for walks and leads to a short public wooded hiking trail. Privacy without distractions is perfect for use as a corporate retreat and wonderful for artists to express their creativity. The waterfront master bedroom has French doors and deck, while the master bathroom has a large whirlpool style tub and separate shower with an oversized walk-in closet. Enjoy radiant heat throughout and prepare your meal in the gourmet kitchen while watching pass the large barges and towering ships from all corners of the world. Utilize the butler’s pantry with wine fridge for your personal entertaining. The sectional couch in the living area has the ability to sleep two persons and a corner restaurant-style bar area welcomes the would-be bartender to host house guests. Perfect for a retreat or a girls/guys weekend away and wedding party accommodations. Ambience is provided by adjustable recessed lighting throughout. Bicycle or walk the nearby 17-mile canal front trail. Bring your kayaks, bicycles and leave your worries behind. Stargaze and watch the ships at night from the adjoining two-story tower, also perfect for year-round photography and nature at her best.

Great property and hosts

We’ve stayed at roughly 15 properties along the upper Chesapeake over the last 20 years, and this might be our favorite of all the spots we’ve stayed at. Our stay was with six people for most of the week. Two adults and four children. My brother and his family came down for a night, giving us 10 for two days. We rented the main property and the adjoining apartment. I’d suggest, even for 6-8 people, renting both if they are available as it was great to spread out and not worry about other vacationers. The property was well kept with good furniture for a group of our size and a well stocked assortment of kitchen equipment if you’re making your own meals. Everything was as-advertised for beds and other amenities. The views and water were awsome. During low tide there is enough shore to swim, the dock gives a place to crab and fish, or just sit out and enjoy the sun. Large lawn and very private with a pond area next door. The difference maker for us was the little things that the hosts did to make this stay next-level. For instance, the fire pits didn’t just have logs in them day one, but also were “magically” (per my eight year old) refilled after fires. Christine was great with communication from start to finish and made sure we knew what was going on. They had a few issue with the air conditioners and a tractor that broke down at the dock, but we’re on-the-ball with getting those things fixed and telling us what was happening. Would stay again without hesitation.

Truly lovely place

The house is as beautiful as it is in the listing pictures. The "nest" deck on top is really neat, and it allows you to watch all the large vessels go by the river-front property. This was one of the coolest houses I've been to, and it was very reasonably priced. Christine was incredibly kind and accommodating. We did not have a single issue. Hopefully I get to go back here one day.

Private and Peaceful

This is a great location overlooking the C&D canal, with a lovely pond flanking the property. It was the perfect place to host family members in town for a wedding. We rented the back apartment as well, which was cozy and comfortable. The hosts were welcoming and I appreciate their flexibilty as our dates changed as we solidified plans. I would stay here again without hesitation.

Great place right on the water

Really loved this place. Will come back for sure. Our boat lives most of the time on a trailer so having it ready to go on the lift all week was a great time saver and we got a ton of use out of it. Loved checking out the Canal, all the way to the Delaware Bay and all over the Northern Chesapeake. The views from the Main rooms are wonderful. Controllable AC in almost every room which made it comfortable for everyone. Plenty of storage space. Owners were very helpful and responsive. My sister rented the 1 bed room apartment on the end when she came to visit for a couple days so its flexible that way. Really the only bad thing (which really wasn't terrible and we worked around it), was the 2nd shower is a little too small for larger people. Still won't stop us from coming back.

The Perfect Escape

What a wonderful home! Our family decided to spend a week on the water for easy access with our boat, and are we sure glad we did! This home was perfect for us, and allowed for us to make the most of our week. The views, the amenities, the dock, the location…it was all perfect. The homeowners were super friendly, helpful and accessible. We plan to return! This home on the C&D was perfect!

Great Getaway During a LAX Tournament!!

Relaxing house on the canal

Our group of 7 family members were in the area for a wedding and enjoyed staying in this comfortable home on the C&D canal. We especially enjoyed morning coffee outside watching boats on the water. This was a lovely quiet place for our weekend visit.

The house was very. open and spacious. The views from the the kitchen, living room and master bedroom were beautiful. I loved watching the big ships to by. We were able to spend the day relaxing in the water or on the deck. Really enjoyed our stay.

Perfect Family Vacation in MD

This property was perfect for our family vacation. With a three year-old and a new baby, we wanted a vacation house that could provide us with a great view and outdoor fun in one place. This house was exactly that! We could still play with our daughter outside on the lawn or the canal "beach" while the baby took naps. Plus, the house has an amazing view from every part of the main living area. The entire place was exactly as pictured and very clean. The property owners were responsive and super helpful with questions/issues. Absolutely recommend this property! (We already have plans to go back!)

Father's Day Getaway

This property provided an excellent location for me and my brothers to be in close vicinity to golf courses and boating activities. The wet slip was a definite plus as I was able to dock my boat here. All in all, it provided ample space for seven on our first night and four for the remainder. The host was very easy to communicate with and check-in/check-out were seamless. Sitting out back in the morning by the water was very tranquil and relaxing. I look forward to visiting again.

Chesapeake Getaway

Beautiful place right on the canal which allows you to see many HUGE cargo ships and barges go by. Easy access to the canal via a dock lift is available. Please note that access is governed by the tide. All things you could want are available in the spacious kitchen. There are numerous decks, chairs and a fire pit. The only sounds you hear are the passing boats/ships and the bullfrogs at night. The owners are very pleasant and helpful.

Picturesque setting with plenty of wildlife and river views. Wide open floor plan was ideal for catering to our group. Owners were quick to answer any questions we had about the property and amenities. Lot's of great memories for my family.

Beautiful water views!

The location is beautiful with views of the water from almost all the rooms! The house was very clean and the living, kitchen/dining and outdoor areas are spacious. The kitchen was well stocked with the essentials for preparing meals. Christine made sure we had everything we needed! We experienced some miscommunication on expectations with the hosts, however Christine was very easy to connect with and quick to respond. The hosts live next door and are very conscious of the liability of having a waterfront property so we would recommend exact communication about property use. The waterfront element was by far the best part of this location as well as the fact that it borders natural land and is at the end of the road making it a great place to relax. We enjoyed walking the beach at low tide and watching the boating and wildlife activity on the water. Overall this is a great place for a family to spend quality time together!

Perfect!!

I rented this house for a weekend stay to gather with some friends before I relocate. The place was beautiful! The layout is amazing, it was VERY CLEAN and comfortable and it is equipped with everything you need. The view through the wall of windows to the backyard and out to the water is definitely one of the highlights! We loved the fire pit, lookout tower, the bar counter…. There’s nothing to dislike here! The host was easy to communicate with and very informative. A few of my friends even asked how to find the listing because they would love to book this place in the future. Absolutely perfect!

Family getaway for wedding

Chose this home for family of three generations (grandparents, daughters and adult grandchildren) attending wedding. Property was so nice we coordinated a small family reunion while visiting. The property was perfect including wheelchair access. We were extremely pleased and look forward to visiting again.
