Key Lime Cottage - 1930's 2 bed 2 bath beach cottage - Steps from the Sand

Step back in time with a stay in one of the first cottages built on the beach. Start your morning with a cup of coffee on your private deck watching the waves. Thomas Donuts across the street offers a variety of breakfast pastries and sandwiches, or take advantage of the equipped kitchen and cook your own.

When it's time to head to the beach, you're only a house and a street away from the sand. This section of public beach has no high-rises nearby so you can find your own space to enjoy the soft sand.

For a mid-day break from the sun, the large covered patio is a great place for a lunch without sand in your SANDwiches.

When you're done with the sand, we have an outdoor shower to rinse off and plenty of places to hang up your wet items to dry for the next day. There is also a washer & dryer to ensure you have clean suits and towels. We provide detergent and dryer sheets.

The sunset from the upper deck is a beautiful way to wrap up the day. There is also a table and chairs if you'd like to enjoy your dinner al fresco.

The cottage has two bedrooms, each with a new, comfortable queen bed. The master bedroom has an attached bathroom with stand-up shower. The second bathroom, also with a standup shower, is off the main living space.

We welcome your four-legged doggy family as well. We do ask that for the sake of guests after you, no dogs on the couch or beds please. An additional $150 pet fee will be charged after booking.

We have Electric Vehicle (EV) charging available to our guests with 40 amp service. It is provided at cost billed at checkout. Please let us know that you will need it so it can be activated for your stay.

Great Location!

My sister and I (ages 74 and 62) stayed at Key Lime Cottage for 5 nights in July. The cottage is the perfect size for 2-4 people and we had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. It was an easy walk, with chiars and umbrella, back and forth from the beach. The deck was the perfect spot to drink coffee in the morning and watch the storms roll in in the evening, even in the July heat, there was always a cooling breeze. We can't wait to revisit Key Lime Cottage.

Great place and location

Host communicated well. Safe area and great location. Beaches not as busy as pier park or the east end. House was nice and clean and we 😘 bed the roof top view. Will rebook again.

Mini Vacation

This was our third stay here. We love location. Deck upstairs has been redone & is a great place to relax. 2 bedrooms & baths worked perfectly for us. Having Thomas Donuts across street is a bonus. Owner super great to work with.

Very clean and great location

This house had everything you will need. We always stay in Laguna beach and have stayed at many properties but this is one of our new favorites. You can’t beat the location! We will definitely be back!!

A good choice

We enjoyed our experience at Key Lime cottage. The owner, Pamela, was quick to respond to a cold related plumbing issue and in general promptly responded to any inquiry we had. At the last minute we had to extend our stay for a medical issue and were given a fair price for the few extra days.The ocean view was sensational and the donuts at Thomas's didn't suck.

Quaint and amazing view!

This house was quaint but housed all of our needs and then some! Two bathrooms is vert nice, lots of beach toys and chairs in the mud room. What really makes this house is the deck and the incredible views that it allows! Don't miss going next door for biscuits and gravy, kolachees and donuts!

Perfect beach vacation

Loved loved loved the Key Lime Cottage! The location can’t be beat; it was so nice to take just a few steps and be on the beach. Cottage was very clean, bed was comfy, and kitchen is well equipped. Having a donut/pizza shop next door and a grocery store within walking distance was a huge bonus. Neighborhood is pretty quiet and I felt safe traveling solo (well, with my chihuahua, who also enjoyed her stay and loved people watching from the rooftop deck!) I can’t wait to go back!!

Great stay at Key Lime!

Booked a 3-night stay at the last minute. Glad we did, the cottage is great! Such a great location, ocean view across the street, marvelous view from the roof top deck. Thomas Donuts and ice cream shop right next door, Carousel Grocery store within walking distance. Very comfortable bed, kitchen has everything you need to cook your own meal. We loved it and will be back!

Wonderful experience

We had such a great stay at this rental house. The location is perfect. Good food and grocery shopping in walking distance. You can be sitting on the beach in less than a two-minute walk. The upper deck is great. What a view. The house has everything you need and is very comfortable. You can get to Pier Park and dog beach in 6 minutes, and plenty of parking available. Can't wait to return.

This is the second time we’ve stayed here. The location is our favorite part.. quick walk to the beach, literally right across from Thomas Doughnuts, and lovely balcony with view. This time the cleanliness was not up to par. The sheets in the bed were not made (the top quilt was made over a wrinkled wadded up sheet-looked slept in). We tried to unfold the pull out couch and it was disgusting (like it hadn’t been used or cleaned in years-we folded it back up). Some of the dishes weren’t clean. We have enjoyed our stay but will search elsewhere for our next visit.

Weekend at Key Lime Cottage

The cottage was just as described, though maybe even better. It was well equipped with everything imaginable. We took some food with us. That, along with Thomas’ Donuts across the street, and The Carousel within easy walking distance we didn’t visit a grocery store. We ate at Red Bar and Dat Cajun Place. The food and libations were great at both. Service was superior and friendly/welcoming. We also sailed on the Sea Screamer and had great fun with Cap Zach and Casper. They expressed appreciation for patronage. It’s very easy to strike up conversations everywhere. The deck, topside, at Key Lime, was a huge bonus. If you appreciate staying in a historical home and area, you will like it too.

Best cottage ever!

We have been staying in this Laguna Beach neighborhood for years, and this is far and away the best property. It’s got a great view of the Gulf across Front Beach Road and it’s just across El Reposo from Thomas Donuts. I don’t like to cook when I’m on vacation, so we basically ate food from there the whole trip (tip: get breakfast early - there’s a crowd). We loved the cottage’s three outdoor eating spaces. My favorite was the surfboard table - it is so cute! Besides the donuts and the beach, what sealed the deal for us was the electric car charger. We are dedicated EV drivers and the parking spot with the charger was a huge plus - no more trekking to The Busy Bee for charging! The house was a perfect size for our family of three. It has a well-stocked kitchen, working appliances, good air conditioning and plumbing, and even the water pressure in the shower was great. Pamela was wonderful to work with! There was lots of information provided and great communication.

Not worth the price. There are some good and some bad things about this place. Good: location, an ok ocean view from the deck and next to a food place. BAD : Awful Sewage smell, the toilets didn't work properly, one toilet didn't flush the other toilet flushed but took forever to fill back up, Very Small not for 4 people maybe 2, the electric system were complicated just to turn on the lights and the most important light didn't even work( living room light), the chairs were stained and wobbly, the grass was not maintained. This is one of those rental property that you just have to say " well i already rented it so i have to make do with what it is". Will i stay here again...Nope. would i recommend it... Nope. The owner communicated well she sent out a maintenance guy a few times but he couldn't solve any of the problems. We are a glass is half full family so we made do but the worse was the sewage smell just awful.

My husband and I love to spend time outdoors, sometimes that's on land camping and hiking, other times it's underwater scuba diving. We live near New Orleans with our two kids and our puppers, a pittie mix named Quinn. While the food at home can't be beat, the water around here is a bit too murky for diving and the shores too muddy. So we escape whenever we can to enjoy the Gulf views.

We found this cottage when looking for a quiet Thanksgiving retreat. The location was amazing - no high rises around, neighborhood atmosphere, cute historic cottage and that view from the deck! Once we arrived, we saw it was for sale and immediately the wheels started turning. I'm a lover of old houses and one of my hobbies is DIY renovations. All I could think of was giving this home the love it needed while enjoying all the location had to offer. By the time we left that weekend, we were certain we would be back.
