Close to the beach, we had to put the linens on the bed upon arrival. The mattress cover wasn't in the best condition, perioius spots were on it. This is an older property, okay for a quick get away.

RatingsOverall: 4/10Cleanliness: 2/10Location: 9/10Check-in: 10/10Owner response: 9/10Great location, but cleanliness needs improvementMy wife and I have stayed at many beach vacation rentals over the years, and unfortunately this is the first time we have felt the need to leave a negative review. After a 12-hour drive, we arrived to sandy/gritty floors, an unmade bed, and a dishwasher full of someone else’s dirty dishes that smelled. The bedding—fitted sheet, flat sheet, pillowcases and blanket—was folded on the bed, so we had to make the bed ourselves before we could go to sleep. The dishwasher already had a detergent pod inside but had not been run, so we ran it, emptied it and put away the previous guests’ dishes. The following morning, my wife swept the entire rental because of the sand and grit.We also discovered the dryer left black residue on one of the property’s white towels. Thankfully, we discovered this before putting our own clothing in it.The owner was responsive and offered to move us to another available unit, which we appreciated. However, I am handicapped and had shoulder surgery in May. Our rental was a two-flight walk-up, and moving to the other unit in the neighboring stairwell would have required carrying everything down two flights and back up another two flights. We had already unpacked our luggage and groceries, so relocating wasn’t practical. The night before we left, the owner allowed us to use the dryer in another vacant unit, which
