Kitchrn was well stocked Loved the dishwasher. Check in was easy. The view of the canal was so peaceful. Lots of birds to watch. Loved our stay.

We enjoyed our stay. Comfortable beds, good closet space and essentials provided. Kitchen stocked with everything we needed. Beautiful back yard and view. Could have used a back porch light since we arrived late. We would recommend this rental if you are in the area.

Great Place to Stay

It is a cute cottage right on the Canal, close to McLain State Park, clean, and well equipped. It met all our needs while we stayed for 4 nights to drop our daughter off at MTU. Beautiful waterfront property and very relaxing.

Perfect location

This cabin is perfectly located for exploring the entire Keweenaw Peninsula. It had everything we could have possibly needed, was very comfortable, and was a wonderful place for relaxing in between adventures. The views of the lake and the sunsets were spectacular. We would definitely stay here again.

Family biking adventure

We had a fantastic stay at the cottage. Great way to connect with family as well as a jump off spot for biking, hiking, and swimming. Close to town and restaurants. Cottage was clean and well appointed and the sunsets were amazing.

Perfect cozy cabin on the water

Easy to check in/out. Cabin is simple and welcoming, with all the necessities and comforts. We only stayed one night, but would have been comfortable there for many more days. Enjoyed sitting on the porch and swimming from the dock.

Beautiful view and location

My wife and I visited Houghton to see our son who is a senior at MTU. The location of the cabin is very convenient. It was very cozy with a great view of the water and we enjoyed the fire pit and sunsets. We will definitely stay again.

Beautiful - we’ll be back

What a beautifu cottage! It had everything we needed for the week - and more. The host has really made sure to have all the neccecities onsite, plus some sweet extra touches. LOVED have a washer and dryer (that was a bonus for us b/c I hadn't noticed that in the description), and the beds are very comfortable. The kitchen is quite large, which was great because I tend to overpack so there was plenty of space to store our belongings (plus lots of closet space). The lake is gorgeous and although we didn't end up swimming we could have - looks like a nice, sandy bottom by the dock. The dock is perfect for kiddos to fish - my 7 year old caught 47 kid-sized fish over just a few hours and was thrilled. Having morning coffee on the large back porch was my favorite time of every day. Overall, would definitely recommend and we'll be back in the future!

Great cottage

Had a great time at the cottage. The place was clean and had the essentials to feel at home - grill, firepit, kitchen tools. We really enjoyed taking our boat out, caught some fish, and soaked up some sun. Will strongly consider staying here again for our next trip to yooperland!

Inviting, homey cottage with the best views!

My sister and I traveled to the UP to enjoy a quiet and outdoorsy week. We found perfection at the Beautiful Lakefront Cottage just outside of Hancock. Clean and neat as a pin with personal touches that made us feel welcomed. We especially enjoyed the back porch with the gorgeous view of the lake. Thank you, Erica!

Michigan Tech Family Weekend

We were visiting our son his first year at Tech and this was the perfect place to stay. It had everything we needed and a very nice view. I loved the character of the cottage. There was attention to detail as well. I will definitely look for this rental again in the future.

Beautiful little lakeview cottage

Had a wonderful time resting and recharging here. It has a wonderful water view that really makes you feel isolated from the rest of the world. The mosquitoes got pretty nasty at night, but this is the UP after all; that's what bug spray is for :) Thanks for the great little getaway!

Beautiful scenery, ease of access to waterfront, unless handicapped. (Stairs to cabin, slope to waterfront) Great place to visit, centrally located to most trailheads and parks. Be sure to prepare for your drive to and from local eateries.Would very highly recommend to a couple or small family traveling the Keweenaw. We enjoyed it tremendously and would visit again.

perfect weather

We all had a wonderful time, as always! Cottage was super clean, tastefully decorated, and very relaxing. No negatives, all positives. Enjoyed fishing off the dock, swimming, having wood fires in front of the lake, roasted marsh mellows and hotdogs. Many different places to visit across the keweenaw. Great places to eat also. Couldn't of had a nicer time. Well managed cottage.

Healing Waters!

Tranquil, healing, truly on the waterfront. Spent hours at the waters edge. Private backyard with mature landscaping, perfect setting with dock included. Expansive porch overlooking the water. View from picture window, amazing! Comfortable and tasteful interior furnishings. We were in heaven!

Absolutely Wonderful!

Myself, my wife and another couple drove up from Minneapolis to explore the Keweenaw Peninsula and view the early fall colors. Absolutely loved the place. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Its just a short jaunt to the East along the canal to get to Houghton and Hancock. Head North along M203 and you will find McClain State Park just a few miles along the way and then Calumet and Laurium the gateway towns to the Keweenaw. Erica is a great host and quick to answer any questions you may have.

Quaint & Clean Cottage

This cottage has all the amenities you need for a family: laundry, dishwasher, wifi, cable, and a small charcoal grill. It's clean and small, but offers a great porch that extends the living space. We were pushing it with 5 people (3 kids: age 4-10) and we knew it would be tight, but it'd be perfect for four. As mentioned by other reviewers, the queen bed is uncomfortable. We still give it 5 stars, because you can't find a better place to stay for the price. Swimming was unexpectedly great: a sand-bottom after you take two steps over the big rocks and warmer than Lake Superior; plus, lots of campfire fun. The beautiful porch was great for meals, with views of boats, sunsets, and we even saw an eagle catch a fish 50' from shore! We could stay outside late without being chased in by mosquitoes (compared to WI). There were neighbors nearby, but it was still quite private due to the mature trees and shrubs. We intended for this cottage to be a home base just to stop to sleep, but it became a destination in itself due to the swimming and campfire!
