This newly remodeled cottage on Douglas Lake has all the amenities of home! Sleeps 7 comfortably with 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. A fully-stocked kitchen and open concept living room/dining area Includes internet, YouTube tv, air-conditioning on the first floor and newly added on the second floor, ceiling fans in upstairs bedrooms, living room and dining rooms. There is a sunroom with a daybed and extra eating area. The cottage has 50 feet of private water frontage with a private dock.
Centrally located between Petoskey and Mackinaw City offers day trips to numerous locations in northern Michigan or simply stay and relax at the lake. Within 30 minutes of Mackinac Island, Mackinaw City, Cheboygan, Petoskey and Harbor Springs. Close to skiing, golf, snowmobile trails and the U.P.!! Douglas Lake has over 40% frontage owned by University of Michigan, ensuring a quiet setting!! This rental also comes with four kayaks.
We are very excited to share this cottage with you. We purchased the cottage in August 2018 and have updated everything. We feel very blessed with the opportunity to own a cottage on Douglas Lake and are happy to share it with you. We hope that you love northern Michigan as much as we do.

Family Weekend

It was a wonderful stay. The view was beautiful and had lots to keep us occupied. The kitchen made it so easy to cook. The beds were comfortable. We can’t wait to come back.

Michigan Family Vacation

My husband and I took our son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren here for 5 days. This house is so much more than the description listed. It is immaculate, has everything you could ask for coffee, spices, bath products, state of the art appliciances, the beds are so comfortable, and the house has a welcoming feel to it as soon as you open the door. We enjoyed the firepit, the kids especially enjoyed the kayaks and paddleboard. Laura is very friendly and if you have a question, she gets back to you ASAP. Choosing this house was the perfect place. The kids were sad to leave. Thank you Laura.

Near Perfect

OK, PICKY renter here. We had a marvelous time in this amazing house. This property was 10/10 - and I will tell you why: 1. SO clean - a lot of up north properties are very “cottagey” with nasty bathrooms and spiders. Not this one. Modern, clean, we didn’t feel like we were roughing it. 2. Forgot your cooking oil? She’s got it. Body wash? Crock pot? It’s there. Netflix? Wi-Fi? AC? Ice maker? It’s ALLL there. The only thing missing were Kleenex because we are a sneezy crew. This host thought of everything. 3. The beds were so comfortable. I slept 10 hours the first night and I haven’t done that since 2002 4. The fire pit and lake view were amazing. Kids made s’mores every night 5. LOVE the Kayaks and paddle board. 6. If you are a coffee snob, bring a French press or keurig and your coffee. She’s got the basics there but we like our super strong coffee. 7. It was SO NICE having a washer and dryer 8. We were 20 minutes from the Mackinaw Ferry 9. Dam Site Inn was like stepping back into 1958 and they haven’t changed much since then, seriiously a must see 10. Super quiet neighborhood - we will be BACK

Better than advertised.

We stayed 2 nights and visited Mackinac Island. This rental is among the best we’ve ever stayed at. Very clean with all the basic amenities and more. Our family enjoyed the yard games and kayaks and it was very easy to stop at the market down the road for groceries to cook dinner. Sun room and outdoor space by the lake were especially nice for enjoying the outdoors. Zero complaints.

Perfect family lake house

Absolutely loved our stay at this gorgeous home and lake. Comfy beds, perfect living spaces, and the kids loved the stairs into the water. Easy drive to Mackinac for a day trip and a serene and gorgeous lake that our whole family loved. We hope to come back again! Thank you to Laura and family!

We had a great time. Worked great for a fishing trip with a few friends. We had to leave a day early due to family health issues, but enjoyed our stay while it lasted.

Wonderful Vacation

Lake home for us

This Lakehome worked very well for our three generation family. The home is well stocked, the beds comfortable and the lake beautiful, morning and evening. We used the kayaks and paddle boards. The sandy lake bottom was shallow and easy to walk around to find little shells. The blue herons showed up every day. It wasn’t far to spend the day on Mackinac Island, or go into Mackinaw City for some fudge or a few more groceries. We found friendly people in Levering who guided us to an Amish vegetable market for sweet corn and then a wonderful Amish bakery. We had a great week on Douglas Lake.

Family Vacation

Newly renovated, clean lake house. It was perfect for our family of four (two adult children) Having the kayaks and paddle board were a benefit. The lake was not busy the days we were there.. felt like we had the lake to ourselves! The lake was shallow in some spots making it difficult to navigate by boat… The Douglas Lake Bar and steakhouse was fantastic(a bit pricey) but worth it. The location of lake house was great..

Wonderful!

We stayed with our two daughters and the house was perfect. Plenty of room for everyone, very clean and everything you need in kitchen for home cooked meals. The little extra touches the host provides were a bonus. We also enjoyed the back yard games and nights around the fire. Such a great and quiet location. We spent one day on Mackinac Island, which is about 30 minute drive to Mackinaw City or St. Ignace to catch the ferry and one day we rented a pontoon from a place nearby that we located on Google search and enjoyed cruising on Douglas Lake. We wished we could have stayed longer! Would definitely stay again!

My husband and i stayed here with two of our friends. We had a great time! The house was very clean and better than we even expected. The check in/out process was very easy. The amenities were great! We would definitely stay here again. This was great for our adult only trip but definitely somewhere we would bring our kids as well. 😀

WOW!

What a delightful respite from the world! This house is simply PERFECT! It was beyond SPOTLESS and everything was exceptional. Kitchen set up was fabulous with all of the equipment we needed to grill (charcoal) and prep dinners and breakfasts at “home”. Beds super comfortable. Loved watching the wildlife out the window. Wished the weather had cooperated since we really wanted to kayak around the lake, but Mother Nature didn’t comply. It is quiet and peaceful here. Get your groceries in Petrosky or Chebogyan prior to arrival since you’ll be in a rustic area. Easy commute to the ferries to Mackinaw Island with lots of restaurants up by there. LOVED IT!!
