La Maison de la Chapelle
Completely renovated apartment for holiday rental, on the ground floor of a villa, 5 minutes walk to the centre of the provençal village of le Bar sur Loup.
The villa has an almost flat garden of 1600 metres, there is a salt water swimming pool (9 m x 4 m) with a terrace of 15 m 2 and secure parking is available.
The owner is English but has lived in France for nearly 40 years. The garden comprises very mature olive trees, many citrus trees (Lemon, Orange, Clementine, Mandarine, Lime, Kaffir Lime, Grapefruit and Kumquat), as well as typical mediterranean plants such as Plumbagos, Bougainvillea, Oleanders, Jasmines (particularly Grasse Jasmine which has an amazing scent).
The flat comprises two double bedrooms (one is slightly bigger than the other, 11 m2 and 12 m2) with shower rooms en suite (shower, sink, toilet) tiled in white. Both bedrooms and the sitting room are equipped with air conditioning units.
In the sitting room there is a comfortable sofa and two armchairs, a coffee table, a dining table with four chairs, a smart tv with Apple TV and the applications Netflix, Prime, Sky News and an air conditioning unit.
The flat and the garden have WIFI
The new kitchen is equipped with either brand new or nearly new appliances. In the corner there is a breakfast bar with stools.
The kitchen gives onto an entirely private terrace of 30 m 2 which can be closed at both ends. It has a view to the mountains behind the village. On the terrace there is a table with 6 chairs and a parasol, a sitting area with sofa and 2 armchairs and small tables.
The swimming pool is shared with the owner and has a terrace with a table and six chairs plus four loungers with cushions which can be placed adjacent to the pool. It is available to use from 09.00 to 18.00 (the owner is very relaxed and discrete).
The owners have various animals, a dog (medium size and friendly), a cat (very friendly), a rabbit and 6 chickens. The chickens and rabbit are not located near the house ! We feel it is important to make our guests aware of presence of our animals. We would not accept dogs because of this.
The centre of Bar sur Loup offers a general grocery shop, a local produce shop and a tobacconist/post office, a pharmacy, a bakery, take away pizzas (organic ingredients), a bistro/bar and a little further down the hill there are three other restaurants. Larger supermarkets are available 10 minutes down the road while hypermarkets are in Grasse and Cagnes sur Mer.
The village is 40 minutes from Nice airport. The coastal towns of Antibes, Cannes and Mandelieu etc. and the more traditional villages (Valbonne, Vence, Saint Paul de Vence, Mougins and the perfume town of Grasse) are all located within a maximum of 40 minutes. A little further along the coast it’s possible to visit Menton, Monaco and Italy.
Bar sur Loup is set against the backdrop of the Pre Alpes, with numerous hikes available without having to get in a car. The GR 51 (Balcon de la Méditerranée) is right on the doorstep. There are hang gliding clubs, canyoning in the Loup river, several golf clubs, such as Opio which is 10 minutes away or Valbonne (15 minutes).
There are many advantages of this rural location including the proximity of small ski stations with the larger stations of Auron and Isola being located about 2 hours away. Do-able in a day.
The owner would be happy to give advice on trips to local places of interest.
