Solig, mysig lägenhet i hjärtat av Alfama, de äldsta mest pittoreska stadsdelarna i centrum av Lissabon.
Lägenheten (32 m²) ligger på andra våningen i ett typiskt Alfama-hus från 1700-talet. Det finns inget hiss.
Massor av sol på dagen och svalt för att sova på natten på sommaren. 3 sovplatser. Nyrenoverad med gammal portugisisk stil. En liten balkong ser ut på de små gatorna i det gamla kvarteret.
Mycket bekvämt för alla sevärdheter. Det är bara en 5 minuters promenad till Castelo Sao Jorge och 3 minuters promenad till den berömda Feira da Ladra (loppmarknad), och en 3 minuters promenad till floden Tejo, med restauranger med sittplatser med utsikt över floden Tejo. Och du kan resa runt Lissabon på den underbara, pittoreska elektriska spårvagnen # 28 som ligger 1 minuts promenad från lägenheten. Det är en 5 minuters promenad till den nya tunnelbanestationen i Sta. Apolonia tågstation. (Lissabons huvudterminal) På stationen är en Pingo Doce-stormarknad öppen fram till 22:00, väldigt bekvämt!
Parkering i Alfama (mitt område) är begränsat till invånare som äger bilar. Så det finns ingen parkering för gäster. Det finns olika offentliga parkeringsplatser i närheten - cirka 5 minuters promenad
Omgivningen är fylld med många autentiska Fado-hus, Fado-museet, kaféer och restauranger. Alfama är den äldsta delen av staden med små gator att upptäcka.
Lägenheten rymmer totalt 3 personer. Har utmärkt Wi-Fi. Den har ett litet separat sovrum med dubbelsäng, (för 2 personer) ett soligt vardagsrum med en bäddsoffa och matbord. Ett komplett kök med kaffebryggare, gasspis, mikrovågsugn, kyl, brödrost, tvättmaskin för kläder, vattenkokare. (ingen ugn)
Apt. är utrustad med kabel-TV (engelska + franska, CNN, BBC, portugisiska och andra språk och många filmkanaler). Ett komplett badrum med dusch. Hårtork.

** För "extremt höga" människor, var medveten om att taket inte är oerhört högt i badrum och kök. Det kan vara obekvämt.

På vintern värms lägenheten upp med elektriska värmare och det finns fläktar för sommarkylning. Jag har en mycket ansvarsfull chef som är där för att hjälpa om det finns några problem eller frågor.

Elle was helpful and offered some fabulous hints. But the property was on the second floor with narrow steep stairs. Almost impossible to get suitcases up and down.

Excellent in every respect, as long as you are aware of the stairs (only 2 steep and narrow flights) and the challenges of staying in the wonderful Alfama area (definitely not flat). Elli is fantastic!

Wonderful stay in Alfama

Fabulous location and atmosphere in ancient Alfama. Good restaurants, including a nice Fado place, excellent transportation access. A great place to stay for an authentic Lisbon experience in a very old part of town full of character.

Stay in Alfama

Ellie's apartment was clean, comfortable, in a fantastic location. Ellie was an excellent host, and went above and beyond the norm, she asked and listened to my plans and was very helpful in her directions and recommendation. If you want a taste of Lisbon history, this is an excellent place to stay.

Our hostess Elli was very helpful with lots of information and tips about visiting Lisbon and getting around. We appreciated her friendly manner. Our experience at this VRBO was very authentic and a great location to get a feel for life in Alfama. And I was very clean and had everything we needed. It was amazing!

As advertised, clean second floor, convenient to tram, resaurants and shopping.Only drawback, it's right above a bar next to some stairs where teesn hangout and it's noisy 9-midnight. Otherwise, a comfortable stay.

Alfama is a lively and traditional neighborhood and it is typical for the neighbors to socialize at night to cool off after the very hot days. Especially with the recent heat waves in Europe. I do my best to create a welcoming and comfortable apartment for my guests.

Great Alfama Location

Located on the second floor of an old Alfama building, this is a great location to experience a real Portuguese neighbourhood. It is also close to the rail/bus/tram routes which makes it a great base to explore. Ellie was a great host and we loved staying there. Thanks for everything!

Great, quaint Portuguese property set in historic centre of Alfama. Beautiful cobbled streets which can be slippery. Beautiful city. Lots to do and see. Host was excellent.

Great location. Convenient. Clean. Owner was super friendly and helpful. Building is older and stairs were a little challenging (ssteep, narrow, low ceiling). Awesome bakery just up the hill. Lots of beautiful tiled buildings all around.

A beautiful apartment in Alfama

I had a wonderful time staying at Elli’s apartment in Alfama. It was very clean and Elli was a wonderful host, giving suggestions on restaurants and things to do! It was really easy to get around on foot from the apartment as center city Lisbon is about a ten minute walk away! All in all, a wonderful experience and I would definitely stay again!

Cozy Apartment in a Great Location

We stayed here four nights - it was a great location. There were many restaurants very close by. We went to hear musicians singing Fado and playing guitars right in the neighborhood. Ellie was great - she answered all our emails promptly, met us at the apartment, and gave us good recommendations. We had a wonderful time!

This lovely apartment in an old building in the heart of the Alfama was a superb base of operations. Elli is one of the most incredible hosts and was extremely helpful to us. The apartment was not luxurious, but rather very clean, simple and thoughtfully equipped with things like guide books (very useful), espresso maker with coffee (deeply appreciated), and even a sofa bed which was made up just in case of any sleep problems. Elli is fantastic! Steep stairs are briefly challenging, and of course, the Alfama itself is not for the faint of heart. Great location to the metro and train station is a plus.

Perfect holiday home in old town of Lisbon

We enjoyed recovering in the cosy flat after walking through the wonderful city all day long. Quiet as the street is too narrow for cars. Close to a popular view point, many sights and to means of public transport. Ellie is a perfect, warm-hearted host who is extremely helpful before and during the holiday.

The Couer d'Alfama apt is very clean and cozy with a well supplied kitchen and had everything we needed for our four night stay. It is very well situated, truly in the heart of the Alfama. A short walk down is the busy waterfront and many transportation options. A short walk up are some great restaurants and larger markets. Several gorgeous viewpoints are a few minutes walk away as is the no. 28 tram. The bar/restaurant downstairs stays open late and can be noisy, but if you close the windows it is quiet. Ellie was a gracious hostess, sending detailed directions on getting to her place, even meeting us in the evening to walk us over. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

In Alfama you'll see and experience the traditions of Portugal. The apartment was clean and Eli was quick to respond to our needs and any questions. Would definitely recommend especially if you want to experience the traditional Portugal.

Varför värden valde detta boende

Lisbon is a very charming old world city. It has lots of outdoor cafes on every street. The art, music and food of Portugal is found in abundance in Lisbon, the capital. I chose the Alfama neighborhood because of its ancient feel, tiny streets with very few cars, people who have lived there for many generations keeping their old traditions. You are in the city and at the same time in a tiny village with an atmosphere of another time. I am a painter and find the city beautiful and inspiring.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

The apartment is 10 minute walk to the downtown center, a 3 minute walk to the River Tejo, the large river that runs through Lisbon to the Atlantic. It is a short trip to Estoril beaches by public transport. The # 28 Electrico (tram) which is one minute walk from the door, takes you on an enchanting ride through the tiny streets and hills across Lisbon. You don't need a car in Lisbon, public transport and taxis are very abundant and not expensive. Lisbon is a 'secret' city that lives on it's own time. Portuguese people revere their quality of life, which I have found emphasizes eating good fresh food (excellent fish) and drinking the wines of the country, which is another wonderful discovery.
