Great Home

It was better than we even expected, especially knowing that both Hurricane Helene and Milton had affected this property only a few short months before our stay. It was a very restful and comfortable surrounding for us. It was just a short walk to a beautiful beach. We would like to come back again.

Great location

We spent 3 weeks here. The house was very comfortable and clean. The host was available to assists us with even the smallest of details such as an inflater for our floats. The pool was very clean and heated which made it very enjoyable. I highly recommend this rental we loved everything about it and would not hesitate to rent again. The location was in walking distance to shops and restaurants and right across the street from the most beautiful private beach. Neighborhood was quiet. Can’t wait to go back.

Perfectionism

This house is absolutely amazing! The inside looks just like the pictures, very accurate representation. Very clean. Very comfy. I’d say the pool is larger than it looks. The location is perfect. The walk to the beach took all of 5 minutes. We had some communication with the property manager, he was very nice and informative and prompt. It was only 2 of us in the home, and it was great. If we had our two adult kids, the bathroom situation would have been a tight squeeze. It is small, but nice and doable. We would absolutely stay here again.

Most Relaxing Vacation

The area, the home, the pool were the perfect combination we needed to unwind and enjoy the beach and that Anna Maria had to offer. We will certainly try to stay again!

Our Favorite AMI Stay Yet!

Hi Kerstin, I just wanted to let you know that your home away from home has made our AMI visit our favorite. The location is so awesome. We used to stay about a half mile South of sandbar restaurant. The house doesn't feel across the road from the beach at all. The dining porch has been our favorite space. The fishing has been fantastic too, the pompano bite is definitely on at the beach.We will be looking for availability in the future for your home. We are checking out tomorrow night about 10 pm so the little one sleeps most of the drive. Thank you so much for opening up your place to us! Brandon

A Gem By The Beach

This property has the old Florida feel with it’s location just across from the beach. The heated pool was fantastic for the kids! Our family had a great time and look forward to returning!!!

Cozy Cottage, Easy Walk to the Beach

We were very comfortable in this lovely cottage. The beach just across the street is excellent. It was not very crowded when we were there and we were thrilled to see a dozen or so manatees swim by, just off shore.

Location location location!!

A wonderful little cottage across from pristine beach. Easy access to island and all we needed to have a wonderful vacation. Master bed needs upgrade but the ocean breezes made up for sleep needs. Thank you fr a wonderful stay!

Private oasis!

This was the nicest place we have stayed! The room was adorable! The pool area was your own private oasis! The screened lanai was so nice to sit at. The front yard is so pretty. The walk to the beach was such a short walk. I usually stay beach front but with everything this place had it was well worth the short walk. Can't wait to go back!

Ideal for relaxation

We really enjoyed our stay at Sand Dollar Cottage, it is an extremely relaxing place which is just what we needed. The location is superb, so close to the beach. When at the cottage, we spent much of our time in the screened lanai or the pool area which were ideal. We also enjoyed wandering down to the beach most evenings to watch the sunset which was spectacular.

Perfect location, clean, perfect size pool for 2 kids

We had a lovely week at Sand Dollar cottage. The location on the north end is so beautiful. Easy walk to shops and restaurants and Beach Bums delivered beach umbrellas and corn hole right to the rental. The cottage had some Beach chairs and sand toys as well as some pool toys. We hope to return to this lovely place!

Sand Dollar Cottage

We just came home from our second stay at the Sand Dollar. The updates to kitchen, bathroom, and washer/dryer are fabulous! The cottage was clean, and the kitchen was well stocked. We look forward to our next trip to AMI!

Just what we needed!

Our stay was perfect. The property had everything we needed and was steps from the beach. The pool was a nice added bonus and was always clean. The pool company came by twice during our stay. We didn’t cook in but they had everything we would have needed if we had. I will definitely stay here again.

Perfect Get Away

This property had everything that we needed for a private, peaceful, and relaxing getaway that was still full of activity, great food, beautiful sunsets, beach days, and swimming in the pool! Our 8 yr. old loved the private pool and it was perfect for days when we wanted to stay home.

Great little cottage

Loved the location and the home had nearly everything we desired. The screened lanai was fabulous, pool was lovely. The short walk to the beach was perfect. I’d love to have some better bed pillows and an umbrella at the pool (there was an umbrella stand, so we guess the umbrella broke and hasn’t been replaced yet). Thank you for a wonderful, peaceful week— we truly are grateful to you for sharing it with us!

Decent bungalow

The cottage was a great place for the family. Lots of little things would make me not choose this again compared to other places we have stayed. Good location however the listing photos are deceiving, the walk is longer then implied. Outdoor furniture inside the house was uncomfortable. Limited beach items and in poor condition. The pool was amazing, host was phenomenal accommodating extra 2 days due to canceled flights.

Anniversary trip

The top part of the island is nice and much quieter but still close enough to the shops and restaurants. Would be nice to get the door code sent via text or email at check in time instead of trying to find a place to park at the realtor office but it wasn't that bag since we were vacationing early summer before school was out for Summer break. Great location of the home. The queen mattress was too firm for us so we just stayed in the other room on twin beds.

Review

The house was great except for one factor. There is no central air, so the house was very hot, especially at night. Also the master bed was very hard (although that is just personal preference). Could use an umbrella for some shade in the pool area. House was very clean and in a great location.

The perfect Florida beach cottage

The Sand Dollar Cottage was perfect for our family of 3. It's a clean, simple, one floor beach cottage with a private pool and is right across the street from beach access to the gorgeous AMI white sands. If you're searching for an old-school style Florida cottage (with an updated kitchen and bath), you will love the Sand Dollar. We were more than comfortable in the home thanks to the fluffy (new) pillows, fluffy and very nice beach and bath towels, and the beautifully renovated kitchen and bathroom. Communication with Kerstin and the property management company was very fast. My son locked himself out of his bedroom and we did not have a key, the property manager came right over and unlocked the door. We had a wonderful experience here and made many wonderful memories. We would definitely stay at the Sand Dollar Cottage again and highly recommend!

Our first stay on the island and we loved it. I looked at 100 other rentals and glad I chose the Sand Dollar. The pool is perfect size for 2 people. Location is close to beach access but pulling beach wagon over the dune area was a little challenging or we are just out of shape :) LOL I have seen other reviews about the outdoor furniture needing updated and I do agree with that. We had to do some work to get umbrella to stay upright but it was okay. If I were to make a suggestion, after reviewing 100 other stays in the area, adding beach supplies would be a huge bonus for this rental especially for people flying.. But overall, great house, great pool and great location! Owners are fast too respond and easy check in/out. I would love to stay here again :)
