Nice Home to Stay In

The location of the home was right on the river and the area was beautiful. It was very comfortable for our family group of 5 for 14 days.

Wonderful Family Weekend

One word to describe our family weekend was wonderful. The accommodations was great. The house was more than we were expecting. It was roomy and clean. The large patio and boat dock for fishing was enjoyed by all. We would definitely stay again and recommend this location to anyone.

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!

While the location was great & the house large enough to accommodate visiting family & friends the house itself was very disappointing. It was dirty, unkempt, & overall worn out. We had to clean the house, bathrooms & even the inside of the washing machine. We didn't mind that the house & furnishings were old but we did mind that it was dirty, smelled & an overall mess. The property outside was in bad shape too. Weeds, grass need mowing & deck furniture filthy. We washed the deck & furniture with a hose that had holes in it & we had to buy a nozzle for the hose. We bought waste baskets for the bathrooms, tub mat, ant traps (ants on kitchen counter's & bathroom counters), dish towels ( there were only small dust cloths to use as dish towels). I could go on but you get the idea. It's obvious the owner has never cared for this property & whoever they have cleaning needs to clean! Dirty bathroom mirrors, sinks, tubs, etc. We had to buy hand towels because there weren't enough. We had asked for a new recycling can & never got one.I cannot believe VRBO would take this house as a listing!!!!

Great for a bigger group - lots of beds

Very spacious and met the needs of the large family. Need to spray for bugs as a roach crawled on the upstairs bedroom wall and make sure prior items are removed (body loofa).

Great Place

The house is ideally located on the river. Family enjoyed it and had lots of room to enjoy time together. The patio area and river access is first class. i would highly recommend and will be returning very soon.

Our extended loved this property when we met for Christmas. The listing is accurate. The river is low, but it was still nice to stay on the water.

Great views

We had a great time staying at this property. The water was lower than normal but still beautiful and peaceful. We spent hours every evening sitting out on the deck and enjoying the warm breezes. The house is close to town and the Comal. We would stay again.

Family Wedding Weekend

This is a great place for a large group to stay together! Plenty of open space both inside and out for groups to gather or break up for visiting. A great variety of sleep options with four bunkbeds downstairs in a very large room near a bathroom and three beds for two and a pair of bunkbeds upstairs! Two baths upstairs keep anyone from having to wait which is a huge help. The deck is nice for a peaceful time and fun to watch water traffic during play time! Easy access to the water as well. We recommend and would stay again!

Great Home for Family Gatherings!

Our family really enjoyed our 3-night weekend. The kitchen/living room area was spacious and worked fantastic for our big family gathering… we had 10 sleep over and 4 drive in for dinner. The view of the river from the deck was both beautiful and relaxing. It also worked well for our 2 year old granddaughter. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice roomy home

We had an enjoyable weekend. Check in was easy. The house is roomy and had everything we needed. The lake level was low and it was difficult getting in and out. But we all enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the sunrise and sunsets.

Great view on the river.

Nice place to stay with plenty of room and a great view of the river from the deck. Didn't have any wash clothes and hand towels in the Master Bath and only two in the hall bath. Need more coffee cups and glasses in the kitchen. With a 5 bedroom house, then gonna have more people stay there than normal. Overall a nice place though and clean.

Lots of space but river access not easily accessible

This was a great space with lots of bedding and gathering spots. It had a beautiful view. If you are there to get in the river, access is dangerous, especially with the lower water levels and neighbors won’t allow you to use their easier entry. We had several issues that I brought to manager’s attention, who was going to follow up on: microwave - didn’t work & A/C - maintenance issue, overflowing.

New experience, Clean the VRBO before you stay!!!

Upon our (planned) late night arrival we found the house to be left uncleaned by the previous renters. The manager was contacted and photos of the trash in the sink, pet hair, human hair and dirt were promptly sent. We spent the night cleaning and washing sheets, because we had a large group and no other lodging options that night. The manager insisted the cleaning lady had been there and cleaned it, and accused us of being scammers!! The next day was spent on the phone with VRBO and, finally the legal dept and owner agreed to refund our money, which showed up 3 days later...At least that part went well. All 12 of us moved to a different rental and lost an entire vacation day to this ridiculous situation. Zero stars, if that was a thing.

A very strange night

After all us got together we looking over each room see you was sleeping where of course I got the master bedroom and bathroom. My daughter Flip off switches to the bathroom one of my granddaughters notice there was smoke coming out out of the heat lamp. We turned it off. Smoke went away. We left the room thought everything is okay. When we went upstairs to go to sleep. My daughter says mom still smells smoke I have sinus problems. I cannot smell very well, but she looked in the restroom and didn’t see anything and that made me think if she still smelling smoke this long of a time away from the switching the lights on something else had to be wrong so I went in the restroom with no lights walk far in the room and looked up where the heat lab was all I saw was red we called out the fire department about 3am we had to stay in a hotel. The property owner contact saying he sending someone out to temporary fix the bathroom and he did. We were quite tired the next day we still gotten some lake time in and enjoy that time. Sunday was a great day and Monday came too soon to leave.

Dated and 2 story Property

The host waited until the morning of to let us know their was an issue with the microwave. The property did not show the listing was multiple stories and neither did the pictures. The fridge did not cool off and the upstairs would not cool off below 80 degrees. Having a handicapped husband as well as a toddler and two dogs over the age of 15 that could not go up and down stairs this was a very difficult situation.

Graduation vacation

The air was on up stairs when we arrived. Tried to make adjustments for cooler air, but the temp would not come down. We bought a window unit to cool down one bedroom for the second night. The first night everyone had to have their fan on high to get any relief from the heat. The temp outside started to cool down due to the rain that is the reason the the temp was at 73 finally The place needs some major maintenance, the deck railing is unsafe. We had to keep telling our 3 year old not to lean on it. The rug in the front room, either needs a thorough cleaning or needs to be replaced. Our 8 month old childs knees, legs and clothes were black 5 min after crawling on it. The down stairs bathroom has some nasty looking streaks running down the wall, behind the door. My suggestion would be to get different cleaners. There will not be a next time, but lesson learned, take pictures, before taking anything in so you can refute any so called additional charges.

Our roots go a long way back in New Braunfels where my great grandfather was the pastor of the First United Methodist Church from 1881 to 1886..

There are so many fun things to do nearby. The largest water park in the USA is located 2 miles away. Tubing the Guadalupe river is always popular in the summer. All the attractions of San Antonio are only a short drive away. Shopping at the largest outlet mall in Texas near San Marcos is only 20 Minutes away. Bring your boat or jetski and tie up at our dock. There is a boat launch located at the IH35 bridge.
