Welcome to your mountain home away from home! The house has a spacious two story deck nestled in a grove of mature trees providing winter views, fall foliage, and spring and summer solace.
Upstairs you will find a well-equipped kitchen, wood burning fireplace, and the main bedroom with a king size bed. Downstairs you will find the entertainment room with a big screen TV and space for board games, puzzles, yoga, etc, as well as the Green Room with 2 full beds and the Frida Room with a queen size bed and a twin size pull out couch.

Deerwood Park is a quiet gated mountain community located in Piney Creek NC, almost walking distance from the Virginia state line. The community is adjacent to the New River State Park (NC), and a short drive from Stone Mountain State Park (NC) and Grayson Highlands State Park (VA). These parks provide a wealth of opportunities for hiking, tubing, mountain biking and rock climbing. The home also has easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway, one of the most scenic roadways in the US. The nearby towns of Sparta and West Jefferson provide grocery stores, restaurants, and farmer’s markets.

Mountain escape

The house is set in beautiful, natural surroundings. The floor plan was ideal for our group with a secondary tv viewing area on the bottom floor with 2 bedrooms flanking it. The bedding and bathrooms were very clean. I wish there had been a propane cylinder for the outdoor fireplace. The gauge in our 4wd truck read 14 degrees for the driveway grade. It was almost impossible for our friend’s mustang to exit the driveway so be careful about taking a car down to the base of the driveway. Despite warning the driver, he arrived after dark and inadvertently came too far before realizing. Also, I wish we had had a working code to drive down to the river access for the community. Thanks for hosting

Great Stay

This was a great property. It was nice having a kitchen fully stocked with supplies to cook with. The basement had a massive TV that was great for watching content with a bunch of family and friends. We also liked the propane fire on the deck to use while it was cooler at night. The only minor gripe is that there is no mountain view on the property, and the driveway requires those without 4WD/AWD to park at the top of the hill.

Perfect Home with everything you need and more!

This home is as gorgeous as it is comfortable! The kitchen is thoughtfully stocked with enough to make gourmet meals if you are so inclined. It's hard to choose which area of the enormous had the best views. In an all wood home echoes are usually an issue but we managed to keep 3 young children asleep the whole time. This home is very thoughtfully stocked and organized, all the light switches are even labeled!!! We were so happy with our stay and hope we get the chance again soon!

Perfect Quiet Getaway

What a great place to stay. We had everything we needed for a quiet getaway. Super accommodating host and very accurate listing. The pictures don’t do this place the justice it deserves. Would def stay here again!

BEAUUUUTIFUL CABIN!!

THIS CABIN IS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING. THE PICTURES ARE 100% ACCURATE. WE COOKED SUPPER AFTER LONG DAYS OF HIKING AND FOUND EVERYTHING WE NEEDED IT THE WELL STOCKED KITCHEN. MOVIES WERE GREAT TO WATCH ON THE BIG SCREEN TV DOWNSTAIRS. THE BEDS WERE SUPER COMFY. WE LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT OUR TRIP!!

Weekend getaway

My kids and I had a, rare, free weekend so we planned a last minute trip to see the snowy mountains of North Carolina! This property is absolutely beautiful! It’s very clean with the most comfortable accommodations you’ll find anywhere! Every step of the process felt as if we were staying at a friend’s or family member’s home while they were out of town! The owners even called to check in on us the day of arrival! This home away from home is spacious and the views are breathtaking!! All information regarding checkin, wifi, check out, etc was very clear! The price of this rental was surprisingly low!! I would, absolutely, recommend this property to anyone looking to travel to the area!!
