Elk Creek Retreat is a brand new two bedroom (both master bedrooms), two bath cabin on a rushing trout stream and 8 acres. If you are looking for a stream side cabin you will not find a better location anywhere. Elk Creek Retreat is located on Elk Creek which has excellent trout fishing, is a State stocked trout stream, and is rated as the second cleanest stream in all of North Carolina. Open the windows and fall asleep to the sound of the stream which runs directly behind the cabin. Amenities include hot tub, Wi-Fi, fireplace, grill, outdoor fire pit, and plenty of decking that overlooks the stream. The location is convenient to both Boone and Blowing Rock both within about a 25 minute drive.

Cabin was private. Located on a beautiful lot. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. My biggest concern was the sharp curves on the winding road getting to and from the the cabin to and from 421. I was not accustomed to driving on this type of mountain roads. As a result, I learned how to use manual drive and paddles on my Subaru Outback.

Hidden gem perfect for a weekend getaway

The cabin had everything we needed to cook meals and relax by the creek for the long holiday weekend. Very clean and kitchen well equipped. We didn’t leave the property except for long walk and our dog loved floating with us in the river followed by hot tub soaks for the humans. Thanks for sharing this beautiful piece of property with us.

We had a great visit. The cabin was exactly how it was described. The cabin was very clean. The dishwasher was broke when we went but we were told it was on order. This did not affect our stay or bother us to wash the little dishes we have.

Nice getaway with friends

Perfectly equipped and lots of amenities like hot tub, fireplace, firepit, riverfront, etc. will defintly return. Our dog loved it too!

We loved the location it’s a beautiful home. Lots of space. We will definitely be booking again. Only thing I will say is if you’re coming in at night. It’s ever easy to miss could use a some lights. We are already planning our next stay

Beautiful area

Wonderful cabin along a stream. Living room furniture was worn and uncomfortable however with the hurricane damage it may not be an issue. It breaks our heart to think that this beautiful area sustained so much trauma and damage.

Great getaway!

We loved our stay! The property is absolutely beautiful. The cabin was extremely clean and well equipped. It’s a bit of a haul from “town” but that was a positive for us. Very quiet and secluded. We enjoyed great quality time with our daughter. We hope to come back again soon!

State Park Adventure

This cabin was the perfect location for exploring many of the NC state parks in this part of the state, though the location of the cabin and surrounding area was so beautiful we hated leaving it everyday to go out hiking, but very much enjoyed the front and back porch for relaxing when we returned. The cabin was super clean and the beds were very comfortable. Great layout for two separate adults or two couples. The kitchen was well appointed and comfortable. We absolutely loved it!!
