Flip Flop Inn on the Rainbow River 1/4 mile down from head waters

This beautiful rental features direct access to the stunning Rainbow River with steps right to the water. Spend your time enjoying the outdoors with our picnic table set, lawn chairs, wood burning firepit, and barbeque grill. The river is full of interesting things to do, like kayaking, boating, snorkeling, diving, floating, swimming and watching nature. This cozy home is perfect for large families, multiple families or just a couple's retreat. The master suite with river views includes a king size bed, walk in closet, and a bathroom complete with a large soaking tub and separate shower. The three guest bedrooms include a queen, a queen and two single beds. The living space seats six, dining table seats six, and a snack bar that seats two. The L shaped kitchen is equipped with a standard fridge, electric oven/stove, dish washer and dishes/ cooking ware. The home includes WIFI and two TVs with Roku.

The town of Dunnellon is only 5 miles away which offers a great historic district full of quaint little shops and unique eateries. Five miles downriver is the Withlacoochee River, a favorite of fisherman and airboat riders.

Fun Times

We had the best time at the Flip Flop Inn! The house was super clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a great weekend on the Rainbow River. The private river access was perfect for launching our kayaks and jumping in for a swim. The hosts were amazing, so friendly and quick to respond to anything we needed. Already planning our next trip back!

Perfect Family Vacation

This house provided everything we needed to have a perfect family vacation. Enough space for my family, water access right in the backyard, floats to enjoy in the water, and much more! The owners were always available when we had questions. We will definitely be back to The Flip Flop Inn!

Great water access

Everything was easy, check in to check out. May not have any spices hanging around the kitchen but had more than enough chairs, towels and all kitchen equipment. Perfect stay for us to be on the water.

Family Get Away

This is a beautiful and peaceful part of Rainbow River. The house was perfect for our adult children and toddler grandsons. We enjoyed seeing wildlife and being able to kayak and paddle the river. Great choice!

VERY ❤ NICE!

We had a GREAT stay/time @ the Flip flop inn. The house was clean and roomy. It had everything we needed and more. We really ENJOYED fishing, paddle boarding, and boating on the river it is BEAUTIFUL. We used the fire pit almost every night. The yard is large with plenty of room to park. The boat ramp, state park/head springs, grocery stores and shopping are all close by. Juanita was a kind and thoughtful host. We would stay again.

Right on the rainbow

We enjoy watching the family of otters right across the river, and the kids snorkle and had a blast, property is downstream of KP hole. Property has many room, basic kitchen needs. Bathrooms have plenty of towel, but remeber to bring your own toiletries. Manager was very responsive and flexible.

Perfect Birthday Retreat

Gathered girlfriends from all over for a BIG Birthday celebration! Spent most time on the knoll watching the river go by laughing with coffee or cocktails! Beds were comfy, kitchen was basic but had what we needed. Family room could use an update - awkward furniture but like I said we spent our time outside. Entrance to river was easy to get kayaks down but a brush near the steps would be helpful for the algae growth (which is normal). Quiet neighborhood. Great spot!

Little piece of heaven on Rainbow springs

What a beautiful place to spend a weekend, our kids and teens had a blast!! This property is in the best location on the river, you can put in your kayaks or tubes and float down crystal clear Spring fed river right from your back yard. There is a fire pit next to the river ❤️ The beds were comfy, plenty of blankets and soft cushy beach towels. Plenty of room for a family. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the pans and dishes. The owners were very good at communicating. Lots of fun local restaurants near by, we love swampys after a day on the river. And make sure to check out the local Mexican restaurant it's amazing. We will be back again. Thank you for a wonderful family trip.

Spectacular location on Rainbow River

We gave this stay 5 stars primarily because of the location and size of the home. This house sits above KP hole and is a short 20 minute kayak/paddleboard ride to the headsprings. The owner is very nice and quick to respond/assist with whatever you might need. If you're going to stay here understand this is a no frills home. It had all the basics, fast Internet access and Roku TVs where I was able to access our Netflix, Prime, Video and Spectrum, but the interior is dated. Since the owner provides you with the basics it helps keep the cost down so it worked out great all around for us. You should bring everything you think you will need. There is a nice Winn Dixie, a Publix, and a Walmart close by if you need something. We trailered our own kayaks and paddleboards which ended up working out great. The neighbors and the road this house is on is quiet. We would definitely stay here again!

Location location location

Pros: The flip flop in is clean and quiet. It's quite a bit upstream from the KP hole, so you don't hear the ruckus of the tubers entering the river. Paddling leisurely up stream about 15 houses and you enter the state park waters. 15 minutes above that and you're at the head springs! Being able to paddle upstream and float back down to the flip-flop inn was wonderful. No hassle of trying to get parking or dropping off a vehicle at the takeout of Blue run. Plenty of outside seating and a beautiful fire pit. Everything you need inside as far as kitchenware and shower and beach towels. The air worked great and the house smelled fresh. Cons: No provided vessels. No kayaks or paddle boards to go upstream. They did however have some tubes available. Thankfully they keep their nightly price on the lower side because of this. Understand it's a long trip down to Blue run if you're going to float down So pack drinks and food (in non-disposable packaging like Tupperware rubbermaid or thermos brands as exposable items are illegal) The only thing that holds this place back from being a five-star stay are the mattresses. They very badly need to be replaced. Hopefully this is on their agenda now that the tourism industry is on the upswing post COVID. Overall we had a fantastic day. It was quiet and relaxing. Sitting on the stairs and having morning coffee watching a few people kayak past is just priceless.

This is our second stay at the Flip Flop Inn and it is still just as amazing as the first time! The house has everything you could think of for an enjoyable time on the water. Steps right into the crystal clear river. Only 1/4 mile from rainbow river spring head. Easy to launch your own kayaks or tubes. The house is cozy and can accommodate quite a few people easily. Close to Winn Dixie, Walmart, Publix and the downtown antique areas. Highly recommend this rental!

Absolutely perfect River weekend

Close to the head springs & away from the crowds :) We've stayed in this area several times with our crew & just love this home! Paddle board perfection!

Great place to stay if your priority is being on the water. We had adults and kids altogether for a long weekend of family play. Everything you could need. Lovely family rented next to us and it was perfect!
