Such a great house, with plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable. Super location for visiting McCauley Mountain and Old Forge. Would love to stay again, next time we’re in the area.

This was the perfect house and location for our family getaway. Minutes from town and far enough out in the country to enjoy the large yard. We saw 2 bears and tons of deer. They offer a ton of outside sitting and even around the firepit. The owners literally spoil you the minute you walk in, you feel right at home. There is a folder waiting for you when you get in - it gives you instructions and also the story behind the house/owners which we loved reading. The flowers/plants outside were gorgeous!! Every corner, big or small had some sort of decoration. The check in process was extremely easy and Michael was very responsive to emails. This will definitely be an annual trip back to this house.

Second time staying here and we loved it even more. Everything is easy, kitchen is well-equipped, having the extra kayaks made it easy to take everyone out in the water, fire pit is terrific with plenty of wood. Michael is very responsive to questions and concerns, house is immaculate. We had a great time without having to go out to get things we needed because it’s all there.

Central Place to Stay

It was a bright and clean central place to stay. The house was decorated in the ADK flair right down to the towels. We couldn't fit in all the activities we wanted but we still had an enjoyable time. Deer even visited.

Very clean and nice. Great kitchen facilities. Easy getting in. The high chair was a nice touch this year! Bed downstairs was too high for my 91 year old mom but we had a step stool we brought along and that worked. Real nice porch! Great hosts that answer questions in a timely manner. Thank you for another great vacation time.

Perfect location! Family friendly

My family enjoyed our stay! Great location and close to downtown. The kids loved enchanted safari that we went back two times in 1 week! We went to the public beach and also rented a boat for the day! We did hike Rocky Mountain which was a short drive but great for my kids to hike with a beautiful view. The house provided everything needed to enjoy your stay! The kids and dog loved running around in the back yard and roasting marshmallows in the fire pit. Everything was very clean! Great hosts! Would love to go back. Thank you!

Our Barefoot Camp Vacation

Such a beautiful home on a wonderful 5-acre wooded lot. We are already talking about another stay! The amenities are top notch and communication with the owners 5 Star! It must be fabulous in the Fall. I, personally, did not feel like I needed to go anywhere else but Barefoot Camp. I highly recommend this property for couples and families!

Old forge no snow but fun

This house was one of the nicest houses I have used via this app. The location , the cleanliness, the amount of supplies, made for a perfect trip as there was no snow to ride snowmobile. However, I have two grandkids that had a great time. I would highly recommend this property, the owners pay attention to detail.

Great house just outside of town

Had a great stay at Mike and Michele’s place, close to town which was super convenient and also could bring the dog which was a huge plus for us. Mike is quick to communicate and respond to questions. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a stay in the Old Forge/Thendara area and would love to come back and stay again if possible. Thank you so much.

Late Summer Birthday/Family Hangs

Had a great time with lots of space for the dogs and high energy kids. Property is secluded enough to feel a little lost amongst the wildlife (deer and squirrel) but close enough to Old Forge for the bear (we saw two in town...) necessities and some very accommodating restaurants (Old Mill, Keyes Pancake House, Walt's Diner and Slickers). We spent a good amount of our time on property and had plenty of available room for everyone to really do their own things. Great stay,. property, and host!

Snow snow snow

We finally got all the snow in OF and this house was perfect for our group! Communication was great prior to arrival, and coordination with the property manager was superb. We rode every day and the property is located so that you can go N S E or W to hit new trails easily. The house itself was super clean, super cute, and made for an awesome home base when we got done for the day, cooked a big meal, and thawed our sleds! Thank you so much for letting us use your house!

Excellent family trip

Perfect location and property for family vacation.Great room arrangement for people with young kids so variable sleeping times are easy. Beautifully maintained property with things to do on site but also hiking trails and canoeing options ridiculously close by. All the comforts of home from kitchen to fire pit to comfy beds. Very well set up for bringing a dog too. Michael and caretaker Meg were responsive and helpful. Can’t imagine anything I would change. We will be back!

Bearfoot Stary

House was beautiful and clean. Hours listed for the transfer station were incorrect. Property does not have a blender or mixer. Dishware provided was great. Fridge and all appliances were wonderful. Would definitely stay again!!

Loved it

We had a wonderful, restful (albeit rather chilly and rainy) week in the Adirondacks at Bearfoot Camp. “Camp” is a bit of a misnomer; this is a lovely all season extremely comfortable large home. The property is really pretty secluded and very quiet. The beds are great, water pressure great, and no lack of hot water. The decor was very ADK! We had daily visits from very friendly deer (including 3 large bucks with full velvet covered antlers—one a 10 pointer). The kids had a blast at Water Safari, despite the weather. We found Mike to be most responsive. Meg (the local caretaker) was also very helpful and easy to reach. Definitely a 5/5 from us! We would love to stay again in the future.

What A Deck

So let me start with by saying the check-in was simple, and the communication with the owner was great. The kitchen has everything you would need for making meals including a drip and Keurig coffee makers, ice machine that we used often, and a toaster oven which we like. Our 2 best areas where the dinning room with the beautiful windows looking over the yard, and of course the beautiful LARGE deck. We all just loved sitting on it for the morning coffee, and the grand-kids liked playing on it. The firepit was also very nice with plenty of firewood to use.The location is great for being close to town and stores so you don't have to drive far for things to do.Now some things we didn't care for but not a deal breaker to not stay here. It's on a busy road so you do hear cars driving by when you're on the deck. There are a ton of animal heads throughout the house and bedrooms. Wasn't sure if it would bother the grand-kids but it didn't. There is a master bathroom which is really nice, but be aware you end up sharing it with the other bedroom that's upstairs as it's the only bathroom upstairs. The beds upstairs were fine, but downstairs not so much. My son ended up sleeping on the couch for the week because it hurt his back. The grand kids being small it didn't bother them.All in all, we had a great stay.

Beautiful home

My friends and I stayed at this property this past weekend. We come to Old Forge often, but this was our first time at this home. It’s a beautiful house set a little into the woods offering privacy and quiet. The house itself is gorgeous and was perfect for the 5 of us the each be able to gather together and also have our own space. The property was clean and there were so many touches that made it feel like home. We enjoyed fires each night inside and also discovered an adorable little shed outside that had another gathering space. This home is close to town but far enough away to offer a break from the business of Old Forge. We hope to stay again. Thank you!
