Amazing house!

This is truly a remarkable property. The view is unbelievable and the way the house is situated out over the side of the mountain is breath taking. The space is enormous, and the bedroom situation was perfect for our family: grandma in her own space away from everybody else on the lower level; 3 under 6 in the room with the 3 twin beds; one teenager who was able to have space to herself in the Queen room; parents in one King room; and parents and baby in the master bedroom. We could spread out into all the living spaces on the main floor and enjoy the spectacular sunrises, sunsets, and views. Multiple tvs for different ages and tastes. A fun, spacious ping-pong/pool table room. Beautiful outside areas. Plenty of parking space. Although communication with the owner was a bit difficult prior to our visit, once we had the contact info for Steve, the property manager, he was very responsive and helpful. There were a couple of maintenance issues that he was not able to completely resolve (one of the hot water heaters had rusted out and the toilet in the half bathroom did not work) but they didn't detract from our stay. Overall, the house is dated and worn. Cabinets are broken and old. Lights in the kitchen would flicker for no reason. Carpets are a bit grungy. We really didn't care, though, and had a marvelous time.

Spectacular home

The pictures do not adequately show this home’s amazing views. The home is spacious, well furnished, excellent cell and Internet, convenient to either Cashiers or Highlands. We will return.

Incredible view!

Yes the house does offer the most incredible 180 degree view of the mountain range. It is a sprawling house with plenty of room to roam. The new HVAC systems worked well as it was quit cold during our stay. We enjoyed the playroom amenities and the wine cooler was an added extra to the trip. Furniture was a little dated but comfortable as with the beds. Only issue that the group suggested was that the house needs a real deep cleaning.

The views from the Hangout are 2nd to none. Words and even photos do not do it justice. Definitely recommend this place, as you cannot and will not find anything comparable at any price. Thanks, and we will be back next year!

Spectacular view in a perfect location

This house is perfect for big gatherings - plenty of room to gather and the view is absolutely amazing. The bedrooms are spaced out so the early risers don't disturb the late sleepers and the kitchen and great room are separated from the quiet spaces. Great location right between Highlands and Cashiers and a short walk to the Whiteside Mountain hike. Only negative was the cleanliness at check in (some of the bed linens were not changed) but I would stay here again regardless. A unique house with a peerless view.

Wonderful Mountain Home

The Lookout at the Highlands is a beautiful property with spectacular views. The home is cozy and comfortable with all the amenities we needed for a family vacation. There were a few small issues with cleanliness but the property manger resolved them quickly to our satisfaction. I would most definitely stay at this property again and plan to do so in the fall.

Fantastic property and beautiful view

The view is wonderful which is why we selected this home. The main family room looks out off a cliff and there are two patios that do the same. The office and master bedroom also face directly off the cliff. The grounds are very nice and well manicured. We used the gas fire pit to make s'mores. It is a short walk from the house to one of the the hikes up Whiteside Mountain, which we took advantage of. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back.

Mountain get away

We loved staying at this unique property. It has plenty of space, amazing views, and had all of the cooking supplies you would ever need. Check in was so easy and I appreciated the property manager being so available. There are a lot of stairs, so keep that in mind with little kids, but our 1 year and 4 year old had a blast. Would definitely recommend going here with your family or a big group.

Beautiful home with amazing views

We stayed at this home for a girl's retreat and the home was absolutely perfect. It had everything we needed for our visit. There was more than enough room for 10 women to spread out and have their own space. And you cannot beat the amazing views from almost every room in the house - absolutey breathtaking!!
