Nice property

The property was nice and clean. There were a few things that would have made it better. The guest shower was horrible the water spray was a dribble and you can barely get under it to get wet. The other thing was stocking stuff like laundry detergent and trash bags. The property manager was quick to bring us trash bags, but we bought our own detergent. Also the place needs wine glasses and a broom. Other than that it's a nice place to stay.

Nice home

The home is well furnished and nicely done with comfortable beds and the giant beanbag was a hit with the kids . There were a lot of flies , we bout a fly trap and did an hour long “g F ly hunt”. Management drained the murky hot tub and refilled with clean water.

Great place

We really enjoyed our stay. Location was great and the house was perfect for younger families. The living room is very spacious and open. The only complaint we had was the dirty floors. They ask you to take off your shoes which I totally respect but then I noticed my kids feet turned black. The floor could use a deep clean especially if they want guests to takeoff their shoes.

Beautiful Spacious Cabin

This cabin was very spacious. Love the open layout of the kitchen spilling out to the living area. The open space felt nice so that we could see everyone in the room to conversate. Dish soap n detergent were provided along with some amenities you get at the hotel like shampoo and conditioner. The hot tub was a plus after long hikes. The only problem we had was there was no cell service and the wifi was super spotty and kept shutting off. Other then that, highly recommended.

Great space for family

Pros: we LOVED the open, spacious room for games, meals, conversation; comfortable bedding; really close proximity to activities, marina and stores; comfortable furniture; adequate kitchen utensils, pots & pans; hot tub is wonderful; box fans provided for bedrooms; great storage space in closets and hallway Cons: cleaning crew could do a little better - nothing really awful, but some dirt and small trash behind doors, dusty kitchen cabinets, cabinet fronts; Jets in master bathtub do not work We had a punchlist of several things that weren't working properly when we checked in. Maintenance was quick to respond and scheduled their stop when it was convenient for us. Overall - we had a wonderful stay and really enjoyed the space! We would stay here again.

Cute place

Nice, quiet, and beautiful place. There were a lot of flies in the backyard and they did have a fly trap that smelled like rotten meat I assume to help. There were multiple dead flies in the hot tub. We hung out on the front porch as it was really nice. The pull out sofa was really comfortable. Everything was really clean. We ran out of a couple necessities as I wasn't expecting to bring extra paper towels, toliet paper and hand soap. Other than that the stay was really enjoyable and the kids loved the bunk beds and huge bean bag chair.

Best Christmas Ever

The cabin was very clean and in great condition. The instructions provided by Turnkey for entry and exit were easy to follow. I was a little disappointed in the kitchen amenities as description indicated "fully stocked kitchen" There wasn't so much as a grain of salt in the kitchen and the provided pots, pans and dishes were limited. Also, there was not enough toilet paper, dishwasher soap, laundry soap provided to properly clean daily; had to go to store and purchase our own.

Great Location

Great home that has all you'll need to enjoy time in Big Bear. The home has plenty of warm comfy beds and games for the whole family. Front porch is a great place to sit and relax in the afternoon. The home face north and the owner has placed a small table and chairs on the back patio is a nice place to have a warm cup of tea as the morning sun cuts through the tall pines. Hot tub was clean and in well working order. The master bathroom has a large jetted tub but we were unable to use the jets in the tub....which was the only downer in this cute mountain home. Bring slippers as all the flooring in the home are hard surfaced. The only rugs are near the beds in each of the 3-bedrooms.

Worst cabin I have ever stayed in and honestly I wish I didn’t waste so much money. I couldn’t get inside the cabin for over 30 mins they sent me the wrong code. It was dirty. had no internet even tho it said it had it. Tv was really hard to use. My Nephew was burned by the fireplace. Dust everywhere.

Mostly great stay, I had to fix more than a few things around the house, the chairs were about to fall apart, and multiple things fell off the walls. Biggest gripe was the check-in check out times.. arrival was not 1 second earlier than 4pm. as a reservation day that is basically a wasted day.. 1 hour of sunlight to unload for a 4 days stay, as well on the other end we needed to be out not one minute past 10pm. Also the giant bean bag chair was missing, also the Cable to connect the dvd player was missing, but that didnt really matter since there was no remote control for the dvd player so my 18 month old wasn't able to watch his favorite movies.. Overall still loved being in the house but quite a few challenges that needed to be over came.

Great Property - Service Improvement Opportunity

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, we all had a really good time. There were a couple of items that would have made the stay even better. In no particular order, these were: -The fire alarm would beep intermittently, as if the battery were failing. A call was put in about it, but no one ever dropped by to assess. -The bedding could have been cleaner; hair was found. -Stools at the kitchen counter were wobbly, and a screw from one fell out while seated on it. Other than those small issues (although the fire alarm was the most annoying of the bunch), the stay was otherwise fantastic. We all really enjoyed the ambiance and solitude the property provided. We would definitely stay there again. While there is opportunity for improvement in service, we do recommend this property to other travelers; it really is a nice little gem.

Good times

My family and I stayed here for 3 nights in January and we had a blast! It was a hassle having to drive to an office in the village for a procedure of looking at the ID which I haven’t had to do since the mid 2000’s. We go to Mammoth and even here in big bear and usually they just send a door code. Then when we got there a toilet seat was missing which should have been taken care of by the housekeeping crew and jacuzzi water was green. Also the entire home smelled of fish and then we tried to use oven for frozen pizzas but it was not working. I called the turnkey guest services and they had the toilet seat fixed and jacuzzi serviced (he said it really needed it) that same night. Then next day they came and replaced an igniter on the oven and then it was all good from there. Great customer service!!! We aired out the home to get rid of the fishy oder. The home is very comfortable and clean just as it looks in the photos. Very nice and roomy and the garage helps keep your car warm which was great. We had a great time playing games, they provide quite a few good games and sitting by the fire. The couch bed is comfortable but I recommend they provide some sheets and extra blankets maybe to use for the couch bed. We had brought a couple extra throws so it was ok. They had 2 throws and with our 2 it worked out. The table has plenty of room for a large family. The beds are so comfortable! The neighborhood is very peaceful and it’s close to all you may need. We enjoyed watching blue jays on the deck. It’s a great place to unwind and spend time with your loved ones. I will definitely recommend this to my family and friends. We can’t wait to come back.

Family get away

Our first impression walking in to the home was it was beautiful until we put the babies down on the floor. The floor was filthy! The floor was so dirty we had to have the house keeper come out at 9:00 pm to mop the floors. While waiting for the housekeeper we opened the back door and a horrible odor came in. There was trash left under the back deck and a fly trap filled with a horrible smelling liquid that smelled like a dead animal. When the maid arrived she did not have a mop so she used a broom with a white towel to mop the floors. Needless to say the white towel was black by the time she mopped just the the kitchen/family room area. She quickly mopped the rest of the walk areas of the house and her white towel was filthy showing the floors had not been cleaned before our arrival. We later found unmatched socks next to the bunkbed which made us feel like maybe the sheets were not cleaned which in turn made us feel like the entire house did not get a proper cleaning before our check in. Being in Covid times we felt the house should have been on a cleaned on an extra higher level to keep people safe and comfortable to travel outside of our homes like advertised. The house it self was beautiful and the perfect layout for our family. I do wish they would have left a few cleaning supplies so as we cooked we could clean the counters of any contamination of food etc. I did not think of bringing supplies with me but maybe they should write that in their "what to bring" section. I felt like they did not take into consideration how germs get transferred from renter to renter and non washable things were left out to use for each family coming in. There is a huge love sack in the family room that was pretty dirty and non of us wanted to sit on it as it was not something that could be washed in-between renters. Over all the house just did not feel clean. The plus however is we did enjoy our stay in Big Bear and the neighborhood was very nice. The management team was EXCEPTIONAL as they stayed in contact with me the entire time making sure we had everything we needed and that things were taken care of while we were there in a very timely manner. If they can get better housekeepers this property would be great!

Great house/ needs to be cared for

We arrived on a Thursday for check in. I got a txt fro two different sources, I think one was automated and the other from the turnkey office. So I was confused, I was txt a code to get in the house with the automated txt and when the person txt from the office she said to stop and get the key? Then I fwd her the message I got from the automated txt and she had no clue? By the time we got up the mountain she ended up confirming I could use the door code? She checked me in over the phone by me sending a picture of my id. So it was easy but a lot of back n fourth. We got there and unloaded, Everything appeared to look great the only thing at that point was a weird smell like fish or rotten something dead? A lot stronger in the back patio. We went to dinner that night. When we returned we sit the kids in the showers to get ready for bed. Water takes a long time to get hot. The dads were watching tv pretty good set up. My husband lost the remote in the couch so he took the cushions off to find it ( also a pull out bed) he found trash crumbs of food and an old e cigarette and worst of all a broken weed pipe, chards of glass all over. What if my kids got hurt? So then I thought if they didn’t even lift the cushions did the change the sheets? Started looking at all the beds and they were all not changed or fresh at all hairs, stains and not washed stains if you know what I mean there is a difference between fresh sheets and not washed. Luckily there were a washer n dry so I started washing the kids so I could get them to bed. I contacted the turnkey office And someone got a hold of us with in the hour and gave use the code to the closet where there were fresh sheets. A lot of work to do on vacation? Cleaning service was obviously lazy and the cost for the cleaning fee a lot more should have been done. The spa was so cloudy didn’t look cleaned at all the back yard was nice but you couldn’t even enjoy sitting out there because the flys were everywhere. It was for sure a dead animal under the porch you could see the house open with the insulation comming out? Last but not least I thought with all the trouble they would let us have a late check out but they said no it is 10 o’clock strict. We’re we’re loading up and out by 10:05 and the cleaning crew were already parked and waiting? So I felt rushed and pushed out! House is a great size perfect location neighborhood is awesome but definitely won’t stay here again. Trying to get my cleaning fee refunded!

Unhappy second stay at property managed by Turnkey.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My first stay with Turnkey last year was spectacular. The property where my family and I stayed was CLEAN, comfortable, and amenities were wonderful. On this second stay, however, the property was very dirty. The property is kept in lousy condition. Almost all of the appliances were old, broken, or just gross. We brought a lot of food to cook on the BBQ but were unable to use it because it looked like it had never been cleaned. I'm not exaggerating either, it smelled BAD (like roadkill). We tried to follow the "house rule" of no socks, but our socks turned black in minutes. I guess the worst part was having high expectations from my previous stay.

Spacious yet DIRTY! Needs maintenance! We will not return.

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Do not ignore this extremely honest review. The positives: Location and layout are ideal. Spacious, open floor plan is fantastic. We were 4 adults + 3 kids. The kid's room was great. Quality-made bunk beds and spare toy were perfect. The master bedroom and bathroom are large. (We did not use the hot tub).The challenges are so major that they greatly outweigh the positives. I would not rent this home again. The number 1 issue is the filth! The floors will turn your feet black. (I have photos!) I recall reading reviews from 6 months ago about the dirty floors and figured it was an old issue. It is not! TurnKey knows about the problem and they have done nothing about it! They need to fire the cleaning crew and hot mop the floors!! It is absolutely unacceptable! Especially during Covid when you expect to find things cleaner that “normal,” is it really disgusting. Maintenance needed: 1) MOP THE FLOORS! 2) Dishwasher does not drain; there is over an inch of dirty standing water in the bottom. 3) Large stove burner does not light unless you light it with a match. 4) Door handle from garage to laundry room is not attached and falls off w/ every use. 5) Kitchen faucet is awful and you get soaked every time. 6) Window blinds in bedrooms do not open. 7) Master toilet tank wobbles with every use. 8) Master shower door sticks and you have to kick it open. 9) Hot water takes 4-5 minutes to get hot. 10) Wifi connection drops constantly. 11) Minimal kitchen supplies are provided. 12) Bedroom doors are squeaky and master bed creeks a lot.We never anticipated hand-washing dishes for 7 people, 3 meals a day, for 4 days. I won’t get into the cigarette and air freshener smell nor the water being shut off upon our arrival. This home has so much potential for being awesome, it is too bad that they don’t care to improve the home to make our experience truly wonderful. Spend your hard-earned money elsewhere.
