Peacefull hilltop cottage with huge ocean views!

A hilltop setting among the pines, great for a romantic get-a-way or a serine, getaway for the individual. The property is extremely private with expansive ocean views from every window and a relaxing patio for sunsets. Above the fog line (usually). 3 miles to the beach and 4 to town. Many guests find themselves, just hanging out, a very relaxing and soothing property. Many birds including Pileated woodpecker and Quail. Incredible night skies! Very, very clean (my wife) and comfortable. See photos. Every year we plant new flowers, lots of new improvements, new heating system, new hot water heater, new bed and bedding and new paint. As hosts, we respect your privacy and will strive to make you as comfortable as possible.

Great Trip

Pictures don’t do this adorable place justice. The cabin is both cozy and spacious, and the flowers all around the property are gorgeous. And you can’t beat the view. Steven and Beth were fantastic hosts and we felt very welcome.

This idyllic cottage was just as described. The hosts were wonderful and gave us some great recommendations for things to do and restaurants to try. If you are looking for a peaceful, comfortable and beautiful place to get back to nature and "reset", this would be the perfect place to go.

Weekend getaway

My friend and I had a fantastic weekend at Steven and Beth’s! The cottage was cozy, clean, and perfect for a weekend stay. We appreciated the friendliness of the hosts and getting to enjoy their beautiful slice of the coast! We would definitely stay again.

Absolute Must if Traveling the Coast

It was truly an experience staying at this property. There is nothing like it. The hospitality, views, biome and weather were amazing. I would definitely stay here again and hopefully for more than just 2 days.

Upon arrival we were astounded by the scenery of the outside patio and as advertised the inside was very cozy and also very clean. 10 out of 10 stay. Would return.

Magical

High above the treetops and surrounded by nature and the owner’s gardens. To comeback to this beautiful property after spending the day enjoying all that the Oregon and California coasts have to offer was the cherry on top! Thank you for your hospitality.

The studio and setting were just as expected from the posting. It's like a perch in the pacific northwest rainforest, with beautiful plants and native animals plus the always-changing ocean view. Hosts were friendly and helpful finding the local attractions. Excellent and recommended!

Beautiful, peaceful getaway!

The property and view were amazing! Steven and Beth were great hosts! Beth checked in on us when we arrived, she was very kind, welcoming, and gracious, and she made sure we knew they were there if we needed anything, but after that it totally felt like our own private little retreat! It was clean and just as pictured. There were many thoughtful touches that were so appreciated! It was a wonderful stay, and a perfect way to get away and recharge, with amazingly beautiful views! Definitely recommend, and we cannot wait until the next time!

Scenic Delight

We arrived and were promptly greeted by the friendly owners. The property looked as expected and felt even better -- the view, the wildlife (birds galore), and the flower & vegetable gardens. The amenities included a comfortable king-sized bed and windows in every room that surrounded us with trees, sunlight, and a view of the ocean; we felt relaxed and welcomed from the moment we arrived. Nice touches throughout the unit made us comfortable, and coastal adventure was a car ride away.

Wonderful! Better than we could have imagined!

What a fantastic time we had at Steven & Beth’s beautiful and cozy guesthouse. Spectacular views of the ocean and pines, summer gardens of flowers and hummingbirds and ripe tomatoes! Huge windows along the ocean side of the house which was stocked with everything we needed, complimentary delicious coffee, and a nice bottle of bubbly! Unfortunately Beth was out of town, but we had a great time chatting with Steve our fun and friendly host. We would love to come back and highly recommend this stay if you’d like to explore the Oregon coast, California redwoods and the gorgeous Smith River.

Beautiful Haven

My friend and I were pleased to see the wonderful surroundings. The secluded wooded area, amazing view and beautiful courtyard. The proprietors have done an excellent job in creating a wonderful garden backdrop full of colorful flowers, herbs and vegetables. The indoor accommodations were great. The bedroom was cozy. The large windows facing the ocean and forest allowed a lot of sun to come through. We will be back. 😊

This cottage is in a very quiet area surrounded by beautiful trees and a good view of the ocean in the distance. Steve and Beth have designed the patio and seating area to be surrounded by their little garden and flowers. Wildlife comes to visit: nesting swallows, chipmunks, quail, doves and more including inquisitive hummingbirds who thought my hat might be a flower. The cottage is well appointed with everything one might need. Bring your own spices if you plan on cooking yourself, though there are plenty of good places to eat within a few miles. Steve and Beth are great hosts, fun to talk with but they also give you your privacy. We will be back.

Steven and Beth were amazing hosts and very helpful with local information! Their cottage was exactly as listed. Beautifully decorated, serenely quiet, and very comfortable. It was stormy during our stay, so the view wasn't perfect. But sitting on the porch, deeply inhaling the forest scent while having coffee, was the most relaxing experience one could ask for! We wished we could have stayed longer! If you're looking to relax and let the stress go, this is the perfect place to stay! A big thank you to Steven for making our time in Brookings magical!

We celebrated our 25th anniversary here and couldn’t have chosen a better place.This property is quiet, private and crazy clean. The hosts, while living right next door, were welcoming and informative, yet not bothersome in the least. In fact, we hardly heard them. The layout of the two places provide a great deal if privacy and sense of security.The view toward the ocean is fantastic!We really enjoyed ourselves here and strongly recommend these hosts and the space they offer.

Excellent location, on a hillside overlooking woods and the ocean. Nice cozy wood-trimmed interior, pretty much everything you need inside. About the size of my city one-bedroom apartment. Hosts were friendly and available, although I didn't need them much! Went seeking peace and quiet and mostly got it outside of a rambunctious dog or two down the hill. Just be careful of the spiders though! This is out in the woods and I had to deal with one on a semi-daily basis. No air conditioner either - I knew this going in - it got a little toasty in there a day or two early on, but I assume in general it's not a problem there.Still really enjoyed my time there!

This was such a delightful little cottage. I needed a respite, a serene and quiet atmosphere. This cottage was the perfect resting spot to sit out with a cup of coffee and enjoy the gorgeous mountain view.I loved watching the hummingbirds and the sunset was spectacular.

Serenity! we are about a mile and a half (as a crow flies) from the ocean. The view is very expansive! One looks over the tree tops to the sea. Peacefulness abounds. Lots of beautiful flowers all around the property. Many guests spend full days here rather than doing something else. We are 5 min. to the beach, 10 min. to town. Lots of great eateries available.
