This place is beautiful and was overall a great stay! The property was exactly as described, and the walk to the beach was wonderful. The beach wasn't overly crowded, and we had a fantastic time. The reason I'm taking away a star is the odd experience with property management. The elevator was broken, the hot tub wouldn't heat up, and a light in one of the bedrooms was completely nonfunctional. When I contacted the host within the first couple of hours about the light in the kids' room, the only response I received was, "Since you're only staying 5 days, we probably won't be able to get to it this week." Luckily, there was a lamp we could move into the room. Otherwise, we would have had to purchase a light, as the kids were understandably uncomfortable sleeping in a room without one.I was also disappointed by how the situation was handled with an approaching Category 3 hurricane. With the storm scheduled to arrive on our checkout day (Friday), the host offered a late checkout as a way to make up for the elevator and hot tub being out of service. Given the circumstances, that didn't seem like a particularly safe or appropriate solution. We ultimately had to leave a day early because an evacuation order was issued for non-residents, and we weren't offered any compensation for the shortened stay.Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, and the property itself really is lovely. However, the communication and handling of the maintenance issues and evacuation situation not ideal.
