Check-in was a breeze. Beautiful view-had dolphins within view-watched them from the balcony several days in our stay. Would definitely stay again or recommend to friends and family.

Great location. Beach view with balcony. The refrigerator worked but front was rusty and stove broiler was broke. Furniture is oversized so if you have 8 people staying it would be quite crowded.Air worked great. Beds were comfortable. Unit could use some updates.

Room was clean. Although a couple minor updates could be made broken blinds, rust on exterior of fridge none of which would prevent me from staying again. Amazing views. Listing states they have a Hot tub which they do not. Pool was always comfortable and clean. Parking in the lot is tight especially if you have a bigger vehicle.

All about the view!

Lets start with the view which is the best feature of this property. The Gulf view from the balcony is top notch. However the unit was a litte on the dirty side. Socks and feet were grosly black from walking around in the unit. Vents were full.of dust. Fan bladesdirty.

Thank you for your review and for pointing out one of our favorite features—the amazing Gulf view! We're so glad you enjoyed it. We’re really sorry to hear that the cleanliness of the unit didn’t meet expectations. That’s definitely not the experience we want for our guests. We’ve shared your feedback with our cleaning team so we can make sure it’s addressed right away—things like dusty vents and dirty floors shouldn’t be overlooked. We truly appreciate you bringing this to our attention and hope you’ll consider giving us another chance in the future.

Castaways is in an excellent location to enjoy Gulf Shores, park your car and walk to restaurants. We have stayed in various rooms at Castaways for over 12 years. This room was furnished about the same as others, not new but adequate. While it was quite clean there were some minor maintenance issues that should be addressed. In the master bedroom a door is hanging by one hinge, requiring an effort to close. Also the master bedroom blinds are torn, limiting privacy and need replacement. They are only ‘light filtering’ which doesn’t stop the rising sun from waking you, should be ‘room darkening’. The outside of the fridge’s door is covered in rust. I have photos but couldn’t post them in this review. With the above exceptions we completely enjoyed staying at this location and would gladly revisit.

Vacation 2023

Property was well maintained. Beautiful view of ocean from balcony! Only negatives I can think of was dryer does not dry clothes correctly. Had to put each load in for multiple cycles. The condo sleeps 8 but only 4 forks. Parking is very tight if you have a larger vehicle. This place was everything we expected and did not disappoint. Located close enough to all that downtown has but far enough to stay away from the crowds.

Great place to stay with family and friends.

This place was bigger than expected. The property was great. The beach was great. All the clientel at this facility was great. The only downside is the parking in the parking lot. It looks as if they tried to squeeze as many parking places as possible in a small area. My SUV could barely fit and the kids getting out of the back seat could barley get in or out while in the parking spot. This has nothing to do with the specific condo that we stayed in. Just the parking lot. We ended up forgetting a bag and was able to contact the company. They retrieved the bag and are sending the bag to my house. Great place to stay. I would totally recommend this place to anyone. Thanks for the great stay.

Family visit

Location is great, beach is really clean, however condo was not so great. The condo was surface clean but dirty in other areas. Bugs in lighting, broken oven door, mattresses need to be changed The spring we’re going through in the middle bedroom blinds broken in master bedroom and overall needs a refresh and a really good deep cleaning. Pool was closed without notification and building itself needs a refresh. Overall the location is the best thing about this condo, however would not recommend until it is cleaned and updated. Epically clean the walls, there were stuff on the bathroom was that I don’t really know what it was.

The only hesitation we have about leaving a good review is that it might not be available the next time we want to book it againAll in all, it was a great stay! Everything mentioned in the description was accurate, and it was even better than what we expected. The property was also larger than we were expecting. We were a family of 4 adults who stayed there, but it could have fit up to 8 (or more) very comfortably. It was a great location. Easy walk to the beach, and plenty of places that were walkable to go out for a nice dinner. The balcony was great, with the beautiful views. We spent the majority of our time on it when we weren't on the beach. There was also a nice heated pool to take a dip in after being in the ocean. The complex was midsize, and it seemed to be a good group of people who lived there, or who were renting like us. The booking process was very easy, and the communication with the rental company was great! They always got back to us right away. The property had everything we needed for basic supplies to get started, and it was well stocked with cookware if you want to make any meals in the condo.Another nice touch is that all the TVs were on Dish Network. Obviously, we weren't there to watch TV, but many other past condos we have booked use streaming apps. This made it handy if you want to quickly catch up with the news or ESPN before you hit the beach. You can't go wrong with this place, and we would definetely stay there again!
