Beautiful beach location

There’s a lot of room for improvement that the host and property needs. We’ve stayed in VRBOs in the area 5 times. There was one kitchen dish towel for a place with no dishwasher and don’t expect to cook unless you want to buy all of the basics. All it had was salt and pepper and coffee filters. We didn’t like how the shower head was directed at the wall instead of downward. Finally, be aware that there are two units above so it’s not completely private.

Close to the beach ....

Upon first impression, we thought the outside looked a bit dated (to be expected being so close to the ocean) but the interior was exactly as described. Close to the beach and seemed to be in a great location. A pier is about 1/2 mile away.

Great local feel-

The location was ideal and the local people we met were all welcoming. The bummer was that this place is listed as True Beach House giving the impression that you have a house to yourself. You do not. There is a renter that lives above and another unit that is rented to visitors. We had a very short walk to the beach which made going back and forth to our place a breeze for restroom, refills, etc. We did not have a car and had 3 really close great options to eat - within walking distance (under a mile). Used Uber to hit the boardwalk several times for more food, beach, shopping & entertainment options.

Great location!

We loved our stay. My daughter counted that it is 42 steps to the beach! You’re so close that it is only a quick walk (2 minutes) to use your own bathroom. We also liked the old beach-vibe. The owner responded quickly when we had no hot water in the shower. However, one of the two showers still has an issue with hot water. The beds are comfortable, and there is adequate seating in the living room. TV watching was great with Netflix and Amazon Prime. Great little kitchen that was well equipped, along with a table. There is a nice patio that is pretty private and chairs and umbrella to bring to the beach. This is not upscale accommodations, but it is clean and has everything you need.

Beware this is not what they say it is.

Terrible place. We arrived to several people smoking pot outside the unit. We ignored it and went on in. The blinds on all the windows were so old they would not close together. There wasn’t any curtains. The bedrooms had some of those old block windows from the 1980’s. Car lights shown in all night. I had nightmares all night. Someone in the unit above us stomped around all night. The next morning I felt so bad for my family that I had put them through that. I called The Grand Pelican and booked us a nice room and we called an Uber and got out of there. I called the owner and told him we were leaving. He wouldn’t give us a refund.Don’t be fooled about the nice looking sofa. That is all that looks decent,
