This is a very nice house, quite elevated from the usual beach cottage. The furnishings are tasteful, the kitchen more than adequate and the deck outside a very pleasant place to sit for sunrise and sunset. We are fit enough to find no issue with the 1/2 mile walk to the beach, but I think the listing should make it clear that elderly guests and families with young children may find it challenging to get to the ocean beach. The Point is a wonderful part of Emerald Isle and the beach is not overly busy. There is an added issue with the September 15th opening of the beach to drivers of trucks and 4-wheel drive vehicles of which guests at this time should be aware ...it changes the atmosphere of the beach quite drastically...I would say for the worse, others might not agree. The trucks and their fishing rods made it challenging to "walk the beach", which we were able to do before this date. Overall, we enjoyed our stay because we like the quiet, a good place to walk and eating at home. Our host, Faye, made us feel welcome and provided all the comforts of home.
