Your hosts, Mike & Karyn Carter, purchased their 2nd beach getaway "Sand Dollar" in Seawatch Condos in 2022. Mike is a real estate broker, property rehabber, and real estate investor for the past 33 years and Karyn is a professional photographer. They have 3 adult children, Josh, Dalton, and Alexa, along with 2 border collies, Scout and Daisy. Being a prime unit in the building with its top floor location, and overlooking the pool and the ocean, plus being just a few steps off the elevator, the unit has incredible potential as a family vacation spot and short-term rental for guests. Since the property was needing complete renovation from the somewhat dated 1980's decor & furnishings, Mike & Karyn put their renovation and design vision to work in creating a fabulous, modern 2nd home to share with their guests. From ceilings to floors and everything in between, the property has been completely updated with the most popular finishes and neutral colors throughout, with a "Bahamian/Caribbean" vibe for relaxation. By removing a somewhat restricting wall in the kitchen, removing the old-style cabinet soffits, adding taller craftsman cabinets in bright white with brushed bronze hardware and "Renaissance" granite, and creating a unique coffee bar, the entire kitchen took on a whole new look, while opening it up fully to the dining room. By utilizing "Alabaster" interior walls and bright white trim, the space feels so much more open than before and provides a much lighter & brighter environment. The dining room table & chairs, shiplap accent walls, ivory canvas sofa & accent chair, dark walnut ceramic plank flooring, and white & blue linens all add to the "beachy" feel of the home. Mike & Karyn have created a wonderful, relaxing getaway that they plan to share with their extended family and vacation guests throughout the years. Welcome to Sand Dollar!

Varför vÀrden valde detta boende

Having previously owned a single-family, oceanfront home 7 miles north of Seawatch in South Ponte Vedra Beach, and being battered by hurricanes repeatedly, Mike and his elder brother decided to divest from that property due to its storm exposure, and Mike decided to reinvest in a much more low-maintenance property in Seawatch. The community is slightly further off the beach than his prior property in S. Ponte Vedra, yet still direct oceanfront without the need for seawall protection, and much closer to the conveniences of Publix, local restaurants, boat rentals, and downtown St. Augustine. "Sand Dollar" is much more of a turn-key property, with shared risk of storm exposure, shared maintenance cost with 26 other homeowners, plus the added amenities of the swimming pool, tennis/pickleball court, beach walk-over, covered parking and ample guest parking. Reasonable HOA dues and a smaller condominium community are additional benefits, as well as being a quieter environment, away from the touristy and "Spring-Breaker" communities in other areas of St. Augustine. The property is just 35 minutes from the Carter's primary residence in NW St. Johns County, so it's any easy trip for daily use and for servicing the needs of their guests as needed.

As far as our unit itself, the completely renovated interior, large 13 x 13 covered balcony, split-bedroom floor plan, and top floor location just steps from the elevator, with panoramic views of the pool and beach are all unique and desirable features for our guest's enjoyment.
