Royal James upper unit, sleeps 6 with loft + 2 Golf Carts & Pool, close to beach. This 2nd story condominium, located in the heart of BHI’s maritime forest, has been recently remodeled, newly furnished and beautifully decorated.

Property highlights:
‱ Centrally located on the island, making it minutes away from the beaches, Clubs, golf course, bars, restaurants, grocery stores, BHI Conservancy Center, shopping, the marina, 3 salt water tidal creeks, and more!
‱ Well-equipped kitchen with full-size appliances and full cookware
‱ Comfortable dining and living room spaces with plenty of seating
‱ 2 full bathrooms (1 walk-in shower / 1 shower/tub combo)
‱ Sleeps 6 guests. The master bedroom has a King size bed, the second bedroom has a Queen size bed and there are 2 Twin beds in the loft.
‱ 2 fully furnished balconies for you to enjoy the beautiful outdoors. One overlooks BHI Club golf course hole #14 and lake, and the other overlooks the community pool open to all Royal James’ guests.
‱ All bed, bath, and pool/beach linens are included.
‱ Two golf carts are included: two 4-seater carts. Lithium ion batteries
‱ BHI Club Guest memberships are available and sold separately.
*Note* All Guest Memberships are purchased directly from the Club and often sell out quickly during the summer and holidays. Our family of 4 felt right at home in this cozy home. The top floor views of the fern covered tree tops, great sun deck, cozy beds, modern kitchen and furnishings were fully enjoyed. Hosts were easy to communicate with throughout our 7 night stay. Easy golf cart ride or bike ride (great bikes) to the beaches. Would love to return!

Great family stay!

Fully equipped and immaculately clean. Great location, teenagers were easily able to ride bikes to the club, lighthouse and the market. Everyone enjoyed the pool which gets maintenance DAILY. Ibis walking around, gorgeous live oak. Was a little worried it would be buggy but didn't get bit at all when enjoying the porch. Royal James is the best kept secret on BHI.

Great location for an adult mother-daughter weekend with the two bedrooms with queen and king bed. Location provided great access for all the island.

Great stay at the Royal James!

Our family had a great time at the Royal James. The condo had a well stocked kitchen with upgrades to everything. The space of the condo was exactly as listed. We had a hiccup with one of the carts but the owners were very responsive and got us back up and running in no time. The loft can get a bit warm but with a fan running 24/7 it’s not too bad
especially in the evening.

Great mid-island location located in the Forest. The property was clean and recently renovated. The description said beach towels were provided but there were only 3. The door keypad didn't work when we arrived, but Dawn was helpful at coming up with an alternative solution. There is a washer and dryer but the dryer didn't work (in Dawn's defense it was late in the week so we didn't report the issue.) Overall, great location and nice property.

Our stay was simply fantastic! This condo is beautiful and wonderfully appointed with all that you will need for a great vacation on BHI! We would love to stay here on another trip to BHI. The communication with Dawn was outstanding.

Great place and perfect for the five of us!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our son raced in Badwater Cape Fear and Mariners Retreat exceeded our expectations. Having two golf carts was a plus! Very clean and stocked with our needs. Decided to add an extra night and was no problem! Thanks Ben and Dawn for sharing your home!

A week at BHI

Check-in was smooth. Door code didn’t work at check in or the entire stay. The digital keypad never turned on.Fully stocked kitchen. Good WiFi. No problems with AC. Didn’t stay/sleep in the lofted area but did check it out - very warm but had a fan. Ran out of toilet paper and tide pods - extras were not provided. Wet items from previous renters left in washer as well as the rentals beach towels. Everything is labeled nicely with instructions. Many things that were outlined to do were not as they should have been when we checked in (door unlocked, bikes unlocked, clothes in washer, a cup in the sink)

Family Tome

Our stay was one of the best BHI experiences have had so far. First of all we had excellent weather which certainly helps. We love the location, great distance from everything, marina, store, beaches, etc. We like having shade after a day at the beach. The kids loved their loft space and we all enjoyed the back deck. It was nice to have the bikes. We only had to rent 1 adult with child carrier. Morning bike rides and shell searches were an everyday occurrence and nightly visits to see the alligators!!! We will be back. Thank you DDawn and Ben

Relaxing stay

With a wonderful time staying at the Mariners retreat! Location was great. The place was clean and comfortable. The kitchen facilities were very complete. Nearby beach was very convenient plus wildlife overlooks and nature walks nearby. Also two golf carts provided which was a great way to get around the island! Definitely would stay here again.

Awesome stay!

A really great location. Communication was quick and on point with Dawn! The 2 golf carts worked great for our group of 6. Place was clean and spacious enough for all of us! They had everything we needed. Would 100% stay again!

So glad we chose this place to stay

we chose this condo based on ratings and not needing a whole house for my Husband and I ALTHOUGH
 this condo would house an entire family just fine! The condo itself is very clean and updated. The Neighborhood is peaceful. We saw lots of deer near the entrance of the neighborhood almost every time we road through! The owners were very accommodating and easily contacted. 10 out of 10 recommend. We would def stay here again.

Great BHI accommodation.

Everything we needed was there and in working order. We enjoyed the location, central to the island, the golf carts were well maintained, plenty of towels provided, quality washer/dryer. The pool was great after a day at the beach (but the property association should consider redoing the wooden deck, it is a splinter hazard) Great place to stay, highly recommended

I can honestly say, sharing our mutual love for Bald Head Island, created an instant bonding moment for us! You see, Ben and I met in Raleigh, NC in May of 2016. On our first date, he told me he was currently a full-time resident of Bald Head Island and came to Raleigh on a regular basis for his business. He then explained he had been a property owner on the island since the mid-90's. I, too, explained I had spent time on the Island in the 90's, as a nanny for a family from Chapel Hill. Even in Raleigh, the Island was working her magic! Because two years later, I also became a full-time resident of BHI and have developed the most amazing groups of friendships imaginable! BHI people are so special! We lived on Island until early 2022, when our plans to spend more time in Florida began to take shape. We decided to sell our house and buy this Royal James Condo. Now we can still come to the Island to spend time with our friends and we have the unique opportunity to share the magic of Bald Head Island with others!

We love the maritime forrest and love the fact that our home is surrounded by live oaks.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

Our property is nicely renovated and well maintained. It is an upper unit with a loft with two twin beds and better views than the lower units.

We have well furnished decks/balconies off both main floor bedrooms. The front balcony overlooks the pool and has seating for four.

The rear balcony overlooks the golf course and a pond. It has a table with 4 chairs and an umbrella and two lounge chairs. It is a great place for al fresco dining among the live oaks. You can watch the ibis flying over every evening coming in to roost at the Wildlife Overlook, which is about 1/4 mile away.

We offer two golf carts (Most Royal James condos have 1) allowing your party more flexibility to move about the island.
