Build a beautiful resort village on a favorite Hatteras Island location, and they will come. The Cottages at the Cape are the closest rentals to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in Buxton. They share a long border with the national park and are literally steps from the beachfront. Bring the bikes, because Buxton’s unique shops, restaurants, and lighthouse are all very close. Forget the 4WD vehicle - those in the know have discovered that the three jetties to the east of the cottages produce some of the best fishing, surfing, and swimming on this island. Walking to the south will take you to open beaches, the famed Cape Point, and if luck is on your side during the summer, a few sea turtle nests (be careful to stay outside the barriers). The interior has been professionally-decorated with comfortable and fun beach décor. You'll have access to an outside shower and a patio. An escape to the cape never looked so good as at Cottages at the Cape.

This unit is currently under new ownership and has been completely renovated with all new furnishings, paint, flooring, and appliances.
Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details around this facility will be shared in your check-in email and during the check-in process. The club is typically open mid-May to mid-October, depending on weather.
You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check-in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles.

Great Location

Perfect location. Short walk to the beach. Access was right at the culdesac across from the house. House was clean and stocked with everything we needed. The beach was not crowded at all and many restaurants within walking distance. Planning on staying here again!

We had a great stay with no issues at all. The rental was clean the amenities were great and customer service was awesome! Not oceanfront but great ocean views in a few minutes walk to the seashore. Would recommend this property and would stay again!

Nice house, but the pictures are deceiving!

The house was great. Very close to the beach. You can see the ocean in spots. The pictures make the beach look a lot closer than it actually is though but still very close. It's easier to drive to the beach access! THERE IS NO POOL!!!! The listing makes you think there is a community pool but there is not. The only available pool to use is in Avon. The house was pretty clean for the most part. The back porch table and chairs were covered in sand and the ceiling fans were dusty. The front deck and living room furniture could use an update and watch out for bees! There are nests on the porch and our neighbors got stung and 2 went after my husband. Also beware of the little cactus. I would avoid the back yard. Overall everything was good. We would stay again if the pool was closer. We were not able to swim because of high rip tides for most of our stay. (If you have bad knees the steps may be difficult)

Gillade: Renlighet, incheckning, kommunikation och plats

Daughter’s Birthday Beach week

The house is in an excellent location. I found that the house was mostly updated ( with the exception of the cabinets) The house is a large pet friendly duplex and very close to the beach. I enjoyed sitting on the screen porch having my tea in the morning- I could see the ocean from there. I took my dog on walks on the beach in the morning. There is a pool, however, the downside is that you have to drive to the pool. This is a short 10 minute drive. We would spend the day at the beach and go to the pool in the afternoon/ early evening. The house was well stocked with toilet paper, however, there was no coffee and we were given only 4 bath towels. The property manager ( Vacasa) was very friendly, however, I was informed the day prior that there was work that had to be completed while I was staying at the property. I was not happy as I felt the need to be at the property when the workers arrived. There was work done on the steps so we had to use the the back steps to leave and could not re enter until the work was complete. This was very inconvenient!! With that being said, we had a great week over all and truly enjoyed our week in the Outer Banks.

Great stay

One thing we loved about this place was the beach access. It was so nice to be able to take a very short walk to the beach. We enjoyed seeing the light house at night from the balcony. I would like to point out some things to help make future stays better. When we checked in it smelled a bit funky and the smell of Dog was still lingering. The bathroom in the laundry room smelled like urine. The floors weren’t the cleanest and the king size bed sheet was torn. We couldn’t enjoy the backyard because of all the stickers and small cactus back there. Our little pup ended up with stickers on her paws. The beds were comfortable to sleep on which was nice.The house was for the most part well stocked with your basic kitchen needs. We did like this place and would definitely consider coming back.
