3 Bedroom Home in Historic Deco District - Minutes from Downtown

Welcome to Keystone Retreat, your perfect home away from home in San Antonio! Our charming 3 bedroom home plus detached Casita, is located in the Keystone neighborhood in the Deco District, a vibrant and up and coming area in the heart of San Antonio.

Built in the 1940s, our home has been thoughtfully updated and decorated with classic design, offering a unique and stylish experience for our guests. The home features 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a detached Casita with bunk beds and living space. The home comfortably sleeps 8 and that is maximum capacity.

We believe in a good night's sleep and have provided high end mattresses with premium linens. Both down and synthetic pillows are available for your choosing, as well as down duvets and cotton blankets.

The Casita is detached from the main house and is located in the fenced yard. It has a living area with futon, TV, a sink area and a dedicated remote work desk, perfect for those who need to work from home during their stay. (Note: There is not a bathroom in the Casita)

The recently remodeled kitchen, in the main house, supplies all your needs for a family meal. Also provided is a full size washer and dryer with detergent for your convenience. There is a private covered patio with dining table and a grill for a nice meal outdoors.

We do allow pets but must be pre-approved prior to booking. There is a two dog maximum and requires a pet fee upon booking. (Please see pet rules prior to booking)

The temperature in the home is kept between 70 and 78 for your comfort.

Our home is located just a short distance from downtown San Antonio and other popular tourist attractions, such as the Alamo, River Walk, and Pearl District. Only 20 minutes from Lackland AFB and perfect for families attending Air Force BMT graduation ceremonies.

The Keystone neighborhood is known for its active and friendly community, making it the perfect place to stay for those looking to experience the local San Antonio culture. Whether you are visiting for business or pleasure, Keystone Retreat is a comfortable home base for your San Antonio adventures.

We had a great stay. House felt warm and cozy. Close to lots of restaurants. Love all the extras in the house, the record player and the collection of records, our favorite books of Edgar Allan Poe, cook books and board games the list goes on and on.

Hidden gem of San Antonio. If you are in the area and looking for somewhere to stay and be in comfort this is definitely the top of the list. Amazing location being 5-15 minutes from all of the event centers and attractions. Very beautiful and clean home with a perfect patio area to hangout with family! The hosts is what makes it the best. If you ask them a question they get an answer for you as soon as possible, and very easy to communicate with. Very lovely home, lovely area, and lovely hosts. Will definitely be the place I stay time and time and time again.

Basketball tournament

We stayed here for my son's basketball tournament. I did not want to stay in a hotel since we have a family of 5 and also invited a grandparent to go with us. The house has plenty of room for all of us to have some privacy, relax as a family, and everything we needed for me to cook 3 meals everyday. The house is super cute and in a great location, close to downtown and all of the tournament locations. We loved our stay and would recommend to others.

There is a reason that James and Honey have so many incredible reviews and it is because they have gone above and beyond to make sure their guests are comfortable and feel at home during their stay. We were in town for a wedding and could not be happier with our accommodations. Due to the fact that our weekend was action packed with wedding activities, we were unfortunately not able to fully utilize everything that their home has to offer but the next time we head to San Antonio I will absolutely be looking to stay here again. They have truly thought of everything their guests might need in a home away from home, some of which include the useful digital guide, thoughtful decor, cozy beds, luxurious towels, well stocked kitchen, and inviting outdoor space. Everything about this house is just perfect and that is absolutely a reflection of the amazing hosts.

Unique and great place!

What a pleasure it was to be in a vacation rental that really felt like a HOME? No BnB kitsch. Comfortable furniture and beds, well equipped kitchen, and ample room for 5 adults. I especially enjoyed the real victrola with a delightful varied selection of LP records. My only recommendation would be to supply facial tissues and toilet paper made from bamboo or recycled paper.

Our stay at the Keystone retreat truly exceeded our expectations. James and Honey have provided absolutely everything you could want or need to be completely at home. The house is so well maintained, and exceptionally clean. The beds were so comfortable, the bathrooms were well stocked with great towels...I could go on and on! You can tell this home is loved, and these hosts care about your comfort.

Wonderful sleep

The beds were fantastic so comfy, anything you would need was there,even mosquito sprayfor outside.This is not important to some ,but it had GOOD toilet paper,not the cheap thin type at motels.This a wonderful place ,the host were so thoughtful and kind,i highly recommend this home.

A wonderful month at Keystone Retreat

We spent all of February at this property and couldn’t have enjoyed ourselves more. A beautiful home; high quality beds and furniture; a fully stocked kitchen lacking for nothing; and a beautiful backyard patio and fenced yard for our dog. They went above and beyond for us - a free mid-month cleaning and new throw blankets when the weather turned record cold. Warm donuts and orange juice delivered the morning we departed. Honey and James are indeed superior hosts…and their home is a superior rental.

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. We had to be in San Antonio for my grandson’s graduation from basic training at Lackland Air Force base and decided to rent a house rather than hotel rooms. The house was set up for living. Plant towels and was stocked in the kitchen and the bathrooms. The outdoor patio was lovely. We took plenty family pictures in thebeautiful back yard. We spent all of my grandson’s leave at the house spending time together feeling at home. I will definitely rent this home again if ever back in San Antonio.

Lovely Home

We had an unfortunate loss of a dear family member and I needed last minute accommodations that included pets. The hosts were very supportive. We stay at a lot of VRBOs and this one is the best properties we’ve stayed. Fully stocked kitchen including coffee, creamers, spices, and any appliance you can think of- it’s there. The bedrooms were spacious and the mattresses, dreamy. The Casita provided a nice private space to escape from the larger crowd. The backyard was a garden paradise. This home provided us the much needed comfort during a very difficult time. Highly recommend!

Airman graduated

Th home was very clean and organized. We were in Texas for our airman’s graduation. There was plenty of room for 6 adults. We like to play cards and there were plenty of games and poker for us to play. We grilled burgers out since airman just wanted to relax. The home was only about 25 minutes from the base and drive was easy to get there. I would definitely recommend this home if you’re looking for a place.

This was a good place to stay

There was a separate cottage for the big kid and two of the bedrooms shared a hallway and a bathroom, with a door to close off that part of the house at the kids bedtime. TBH we spent most of the time in the luxurious backyard. Grocery store in walking distance and under 10 minute drive to the convention center, which was convenient. I don’t really have anything negative to say.

Over delivered on HOSPITALITY!!!!!!! GREAT property

Hosts are AWESOME!! We travel alot working and found this place in the top ten homes away from home. Honey and James are very good hosts, giving advice for local spots to eat and making sure everything is up to par. Great house for a family we in SA

We really enjoyed a lot the house for the 7 of us. Honey was such a great and welcoming host. Everything is perfect and there are so many detailed attentions that make us feel really like at home. The kitchen is fully stocked, the house is comfy and super clean, the kids were delighted with all the games and we found the location pretty handy, not too far from everything and very close from the HEB (walking distance). I do recommend warmly this house. And communication with Honey was seamless and very comprehensive (we had to update a bit our trip)

My family traveled from Oklahoma, Arkansas and New Jersey to watch our son graduate from the Air Force. Our first time in San Antonio. James and Honey were full of information. They always answered any questions I had. The house was very nice with all the amenities we needed to enjoy our stay. I would give a higher rating if I could. You couldn't ask for better hosts. Great vacation home

We enjoyed our stay in San Antonio at a great Vrbo home. The cookies and donuts were a nice touch. The master bedroom had an adjustable bed, which is the first time we’ve been away from home that has one. The casita was enjoyed by two of our grandchildren. The game closet was a nice extra. Honey decorated the home to match the Christmas season. There was ample parking. The HEB grocery store was just a block away. Distance from the airport and the river walk was about a 15 minute drive. We were able to text with the owners and receiv ed quick responses. We very much enjoyed your home.
