Familjer älskar Schooner Ridge eftersom det är ett pittoreskt havssamhälle som ligger precis i byn Duck. Du behöver inte använda din bil här. Family Rendevous

Great home for a multi generational family, with places large enough for everybody to gather and places to get away from it all. Neighborhood facilities are an added bonus.

This is an excellent space - clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully and tastefully furnished. Our kids especially loved the foosball table and pool. The adults loved the comfortable indoor and outdoor spaces. The house was immaculate when we arrived, and we all found the beds extremely comfortable. One issue arose at the end of our stay (normal house stuff), and the owners were incredibly responsive and helpful in navigating. Highly recommend! We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Our First Family vacation to Duck

This was our first trip to OBX. What a great place to stay! The location couldn’t have been better. Quick walk to the beach. While we mostly drove, the stores are all conveniently located within 10-15 min walk. We were a family of six along with 4 children 3 and under. The house served all our needs. The kitchen was well stocked and the house was very clean. Erik and the Property Manager were incredibly responsive and wonderful communicators. No doubt, we would consider staying again. Duck - we’re gonna miss you.

Our family had a wonderful week.

Good location to the beach. We did not get to use the beach pool as it was under construction. The bathrooms were closed. (We should have been informed ahead of time of the closure and men working). It is nice to have showers at the beach. The house is nice, but I would not rate it as exceptional. The bathrooms are very small and difficult to share with 15 people. There is not seating at tables for 15. The kitchen is adequate. The pool deck and grounds need attention. The decks need attention.It was nice to have the house ready when we arrived.

Great Family week in Duck!

The place was fantastic. We had 4 different families with us for a total of 13 people. The weather didn't cooperate totaly but on rainy days we either went on excursions or went to the Recreation Club a short 5 minute walk away. There we had an indoor pool, games, billiards, pickleball and more. On the sunny days we walked 5 minutes to the beach which was excellent. Hot tub and pool on property was a real plus. We had 3 children , 3 yrs, 1 year and 9 months with us with no problems. Child gates on stairs, high chair, portacribs and abundant room for a big playpen we brought. Kitchen and dining area was accommodating for all. Three refrigerators , 6 bedrooms, multiple TVs, multiple sun porches, bikes, beach equipment....everything anyone would need for a great vacation. The VRBO is situated in an ideal location within Duck. Walking distance to shops, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. A great time was had by all.

Outer Banks Family Trip

We had an amazing stay! The home is very comfortable with all the amenities, equipment needed. The owner, Shauna, was very helpful and always prompt when I had questions. Very fun and we would return!

Great House

Wonderful stay at the Pickering house with our children and grandchildren! Short distance to beach….great community amenities …..house was immaculate and lots of extra equipment for babies and children …..pool was perfect for all. Definitely plan on returning thank you for your hospitality!

We had a great time ! Perfect location , beach is just a short walk. The town is just a bike ride away, kids would ride their bikes into town for ice cream . The house had everything you need . We all enjoyed our first visit to OBX.

This is a beautiful area, property and experience. We greatly appreciated the attention to detail of Erik and his team. Lovely getaway

Our group of 4 adults and 2 kids had a great time during our stay at “Rendezvous” in Schooner Ridge. The home is within easy walking distance of the beach, along with the town of Duck, and was nicely appointed. The kitchen had everything you need in well-stocked kitchen. The beds were comfortable, and the hot tub worked well. The owners, Erik and Shauna, couldn’t be more responsive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Family oasis

Such an enjoyable stay! The weather was uncooperative during our stay so the ability to have a club house with activities for all a plus! Home is great for gathering the family for game night or meal time but room to seclude yourself as well. Hot tub and pool area awesome! Short walk or bike ride to beach or sound, shopping or grabbing a sweet treat. 5 stars on response from owners with any questions we had. A welcome gift waiting on our arrival!

We had ourselves a time

This property is well appointed. Not far from the beach. If you can’t be beach front this is a very nice option. The beds are comfortable and great to sleep. Pool and hotub are great too. The configurations of bedrooms and bath are more suitable for families with younger children (fantastic for that) We had families of teens and adults. It’s worked well but better for children.

The Best Vacation We Have Had as a Family

Everything was fantastic. I don't know where to begin or even how to end. When we left, all of us group hugged and cried. This was the best family vacation we have ever been on. The House and the Private pool is incredible. For me to watch my three adult children (30 & above) have races was hilarious. The Home and the development is so well kept. Everything from swimming to bike & wave riding, is available. We walked on the beach at night and explored Ghost Crabs. All 6 boys rented a charter and brought home blue fish. The girls had a shopping day and the children saw a magic show. I adored this trip and we are all talking about what we are going to do there on next years trip. The owner's and their team were so hands on with everything. I cannot say enough GREAT things about this vacation. I don't think my family or I could ever top it!

Do NOT skip this Vacation home

We were in OBX for our parents’ 50th anniversary. We’ve been on a lot of vacations and this was the BEST. The beach is gorgeous, clean sand/water & plenty of room for groups right off of their boardwalk. There were enough beach chairs & an umbrella for us to use. The beach is close, 4 houses from the boardwalk, 2 minute walk. There were also a stack of beach/pool towels even though the listing says they don’t provide. We were pleasantly surprised to find 4 nice beach cruiser bikes to use. The house is amazing! Clean! Beds and linens were extremely comfortable. We slept 16 but I think the house could have comfortably slept 20. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you could need, 3 huge pots for a seafood boil, blender, griddle and tons of dishes, silverware & cookware, plenty of spices/salt/pepper etc in the pantry along with olive oil, cooking spray and some baking items that people had left. There were some paper products, foil, dish soap, laundry detergent left. This was a nice surprise and we were happy to leave our extras too. The private pool & hot tub got a lot of use and the outdoor porches & seating areas are plentiful. I just can’t say enough about this house. It made it such a pleasant trip for all of us. Everyone in our group commented on how nice it was. We had a few minor issues during our stay that were taken care of promptly by the property assistant. We want to thank you for your hospitality & for sharing your slice of heaven!

Family fun in Duck, NC

The Pickerings house was perfect for our family of ten adults and five grandkids ranging in age from an infant to six years old. Eric is who I talked to on the phone and through email to resolve any questions and/or issues while at the property. He was easy to get in touch with and very responsive and helpful. You couldn’t ask for a better host. We had a problem with the pool and Eric made sure it was resolved so that we could enjoy the pool. The pool and hot tub were an added bonus and we spent quite a bit of time enjoying them and relaxing and playing with the kids. A note on the bunk bed room - there is a light fixture above one of the beds. There is not a lot of room between the top bunk and the light. Somehow my granddaughter banked her head into the fixture and it completely shattered. Luckily she was ok. I’m just mentioning it for others to be careful since most likely it would be kids using the bunk beds. The house was well stocked and had everything we needed. The beach was a very short walk from the property with private access and really nice. The family room was large enough for all of us to gather and share meals and enjoy conversation. The outside decks were spacious and comfortable. The two picnic tables on the deck were perfect for our group to dine outside. However, the flies were really annoying. An outdoor fan helps somewhat. There was a small screened in porch which was great. Since there was so much porch space a larger screened portion would be a nice enhancement. The views off the deck of the night sky and full red moon were amazing. The short walk into town was nice so we didn’t ever have to drive into the town. All in all it was a wonderful location for a vacation with our family. It’s nice to have hosts you can count on!

We have been vacationing in Duck for over 12 years and when we moved from California to the East Coast, we began the search for a vacation home here. We fell in love with our house and neighborhood, Schooner Ridge. We updated basically everything - beds, furniture, and electronics, and we can't get down there enough - we love it!
