Had a great time at this cabin! It’s perfect for a couple getaway or a small family getaway. This place has everything you will need to have a great vacation and it’s in a great location! Had so much fun on the 10 acres and at the bar and with the heat stove. Love that we can bring our fur baby with us! Hope to stay next year again!

If you’re planning to bring your dogs, this is an excellent place. If you enjoy minimalist living and prefer staying in a cabin rather than camping in a tent, you’ll likely enjoy this property.That said, considering that the nearest town is about six miles away, a few upgrades would make the property more comfortable and help justify the price. Having a few basic appliances available for preparing meals, providing gas for the grill, and adding some grass or clover around the property would make a noticeable difference.Overall, it’s a great option for those looking for a simple, quiet getaway, especially with pets. With a few additional amenities and some improvements to the grounds, it could be an even better experience.

Clean, great space for our boxer to run, bed was VERY comfortable, enjoyed the "family" photos and looking at all of the memorabilia in the 2nd bedroom.

Unique and charming destination

My kids and i loved this property. Its nestled back in the woods and is a great place to stay if you're in the Mackinac area for a few days

What a great secluded cabin in the woods! We enjoyed the firepit at night, the tiki bar, the nostalgic decor. We very much enjoyed our time here and hope to return.

We had a great time! Location was convenient to both Mackinaw City and Cheboygan. Dog friendly with room to let them play and a great trail to walk. This is an eclectic place with pop culture Easter eggs sprinkled throughout.This was a comfortable place for a quiet weekend.

Fun little cabin!

Nice cabin, garage door opens with a big screen which was very helpful to cool off the cabin at night. Very nice!John was amazing.

Peaceful cabin in the woods

This place is a true gem. It's close enough to the excitement of Mackinaw but far enough away for you to escape to the peace and quiet of the countryside. My family really enjoyed our stay and the recommendations from the host were top notch.

Great getaway

Overall, a fun getaway. Would be better if cell service worked indoors, but otherwise good. I'd certainly go again. Nice place.

Rustic property nestled in the woods

If you enjoy camping and being in the wilderness, this is your place! We enjoyed the quiet setting and the spaciousness. Everything was very clean and had a unique vibe. The beds were very comfortable.

Perfect place to unplug

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at John's place. It was quiet, clean, and a true getaway from the hustle of life. If you enjoy nature and serenity then this is the perfect place. Great location to visit Mackinaw City and Island. I would definitely stay here again.

"The Structure"

Stay was great! This place is a great location for multiple up north towns(Cheyboygan, Mackinaw City, Petoskey, Charlevoix, St Ignace and more). We went in October and the colors were absolutely stunning especially on the trail around the property.

Peaceful and relaxing!

It was great to disconnect and relax during this secluded stay. Plenty of options for fun here, we played some board games and threw on some vinyl. I’d love to see what this place is like in the fall!

Beautiful, private property with delightful character and good vibes :)

Love the trail throughout the woods on the property! High quality CD player with many good jams :) not overly fancy but exactly what you want from a northern Michigan getaway. Super close to mackinaw and beaches in the area. Communication with the host was incredible.
