We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hynes cabin. We did not see any horses near the cabin, but it could be due to the end of the season at the campground. We did see geese, ducks and deer daily by the cabin surrounded by the wonderful view of the mountain. The cabin is so centrally located that we enjoyed several day trips out. It is located very near Mt. Rushmore so we visited the monument in the day and also at night for their illumination ceremony. It's worth the trip!

Nice, clean, well stocked cabin. We absolutely loved the screened in porch so we could listen to the horses at night and watch the wranglers round up the horses in the morning. Lots of activities to do at the KOA and a great location as home base while visiting all the local attractions like Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, etc. Hosts were easy to communicate with. The cabin has lots of great history and is a gem.

Very nice and very will stock with lots of amenities from the kitchen to games for the kids. In a very quiet area with an excellent view. We enjoyed the morning and evening roundup of the horses every day.

Nice place to retreat to. Beautiful views and was exciting to see the horses rounded up everyday. Lots of wildlife and family friendly things to do. Do not leave the koa park to get to cabin. We had trouble finding the cabin in the rain because we kept leaving the park.

This place is a gem. It is so unique, quaint, and thoughtfully stocked. The location is amazing; between Keystone and Hill City. Close to all the attractions. Family enjoyed the KOA amenities including mini golf, pools, games, convenient store, ice cream and restaurants. Kids can bring bikes and there is a pond nearby for fishing. The cabin itself is tucked away from the bustle of the KOA. The beds are comfy, we appreciated the curtain divider between the three twin beds and one queen bed. They left firewood for us. They have games, DVDs and toys for kids. The views are amazing, get to see the horses every morning, the breeze in the porch feels refreshing. It was 100 degrees a few days we were there and it was surprisingly comfortable. It cools down nice at night. Very clean and comfortable accommodations. Would definitely come back!

Fantastic!

We had an excellent time at the Hynes cabin. The property is extremely well maintained. My kids loved staying at the cabin. I would highly recommend this place.

Fabulous stay!

We loved our time at the cabin- it was nice to have all the amenities of KOA but also be tucked away in the quiet of the cabin. We loved sleeping on the porch, watching the horses run by each evening, and the cabin was very well stocked.

Perfect for families!

Great cabin with a fresh air sleeping porch! We enjoyed camp fires, the KOA fun zone, and late night movies back at the cabin. It was a memorable adventure and a return trip!

Great location

Location is great, its in the back of the KOA so you don't have to hear all the noise but benefit from the accommodations if you want it. Host was very responsive.

What a wonderful treasure! This place reminded me of a home I used to visit in the Adirondacks, so it felt nostalgic. The view was amazing. We appreciated the warm bathrooms because we were there with a cold front, and it got really cold. LOVED it here!
