Location, location, location!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was a great condo for my family of 4. My two young daughters shared a queen(twin beds would have been better). It was so nice being on the ground level and walking up to walk on the beach at sunrise. (Beach was not swimmable for young ones). Being on the bike trail was great too. It was nice to go for a jog or walking to restaurants, food trucks, coffee. It was centrally located which made exploring the island easier. Snorkel rentals on site. The only negative was not having a washer and dryer in the unit(from a mother's perspective, it makes the trip more difficult). There is a laundry mat, but we didn't use it.

Well appointed, lovely view

Super clean, air conditioned unit. No in-unit laundry, but the building laundry room is just steps away. Only downsides were that the upstairs neighbors fed the chickens (which led to a gross lanai) and seemed to hold square dancing competitions at odd hours.

Very nice unit

Nice condo that was as advertised. Great location on the beach and also within the Pono Kai resort. Air conditioned in both bedrooms and the living room. The unit was as good as it was the previous times we stayed there. Hope to stay there again.

Swam every day. Sensational beach just steps from our condo. Biked, ran and walked the 4 mile path. It was the best.

Nice place with great AC

The place was perfect for what we were needing. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, even the pull out couch was super comfortable. Nice amount of space for the 5 of us. We had a perfect view and access to the beach with a gorgeous sunrise. The walkway made for a gorgeous morning run along the beach. We were close to everything we needed and felt very central to the entire island. Perfect location! A few suggestions for the owner but definitely not complaints as we would stay again…We felt the kitchen was lacking and could use some updates and an inventory refill. The bathrooms could use exhaust fans. The gym was SUPER tiny which was a bummer but the outdoor path made up for where that lacked. We didn’t realize (probably because we assumed) but the laundry was shared within the facility and each wash and dry load was $1.50 each in quarters.

Loved it

We loved this location- cute town- and right in the middle of everything. Loved waking up and watching the sunrise. Right on the boardwalk- and beach- although we drove to other beaches for the day- it was nice having the option of it right here. Would definitely stay again!

Senior softball

The view was spectacular, it was clean and quiet. The beds were super comfortable and we really appreciated the air conditioning. We could walk to the softball fields and had a wonderful time. If we return, we’d love to book it again!!

Great Condo!

We were very happy with our choice to stay at Pono Kai C101. Property was clean, well decorated and furnished with about everything you could think of you might need. We didn't really cook much but everything was there if we had wanted to. Amazing sunrises and a bike path just in front of the condo. Easy walk to restaurants and shopping. Book this with confidence.

Pono Kai Resort

We booked a condo that showed pictures of it having a loft bedroom. However, the condo we got was a ground floor unit. It was still very nice and we enjoyed our stay. The dishwasher in our unit didn't work, as we had to wash the dishes afterwards. Also, the slider door was VERY hard to open and close and we felt like we were going to rip the handle off the door. The entire resort was beautiful and very clean. You can walk to shops and for dining. It was on a beautiful beach and on the walking path which took you both North & South from the condo. We were surprised as to the amount of homeless people in the area compared to when we were there 10 years ago. However, they mind their own business and are very friendly and say "hi" when you walk by.

Nice Condo - Nice Location

The condo is a bit dated, but was clean and comfortable. My family had a good time and were happy with the condo. The location right on the ocean was fabulous. And, it is just a block and a half from most of Kapa'a town, which was super convenient. Do note, the reference to three beds includes a sofa bed in the living room.

Not What We Expected...

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Although you see the pictures on the website beforehand, let’s just say the pictures did not tell the truth. First, the kitchen window near the front door had no full curtain or blinds; therefore, privacy was an issue. To solve this problem we used a brown paper bag and taped it to the window. Next, the Master bathroom did not flush properly, very sluggish flush and we had to hold the lever down for at least 15 seconds for it to go down. Third, the front door takes about 30 seconds to close behind you and it cannot be forced closed. Additionally, the hooks in the Master bathroom were ineffective, the towels kept falling on the floor. Fourth, there was obvious rust throughout the condo, including the shutters, windowsills, and ceiling fans. Fifth, it rained heavily on 1/30/23, and water leaked from the Master bedroom window frame all over the floor into my luggage, wetting everything. Called Garden Island Properties and spoke with Kailani and she sent over maintenance and extra towels. The previous night there were severe winds and the window rattled all night. Sixth, the Master ceiling fan makes a clicking noise, so we turned that off because it was so annoying. Last, they ask you to sweep up before you leave, but they only provide a broom, no dust pan. So we used a piece of paper to get up the trash, but that doesn’t work as well as a dust pan. Besides all that, the beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the close proximity to the beach. I would recommend some serious repairs and upgrades to this place.

The unit was generally in good condition but the furnishings could use updating. All in all it worked for us and when in Hawaii, we don't spend much time in the room anyway. = ))Suggestions: A second chaise lounge chair would be welcome and a set of drapes on both windows in the bedroom with the Queen.

Beautiful mornings

I love that the master bedroom faced the east so I could lay in bed and watch the sunrise every morning. The condo had all the amenties we needed including spices and oils for cooking Thank you
