We loved our long weekend at the Dairy Barn! The space was filled with character and rustic charm. It was so peaceful and cozy. We were greeted by the cows at the gate when we arrived, and every evening at dusk, we were visited by lots of deer (including a buck)! We are early risers, so we experienced 3 stunning sunrises and more deer, as well as a bunch of turkeys. This place was magical!!

The outdoor space was very peaceful and the sunrise was exceptional. Enjoyed the country vibe. WiFi was out but the host communicated this to us and gave us a partial refund, which was appreciated.

My sister and I stayed at The Dairy Barn for my birthday and the best word I can use to describe it is "bucolic". It possessed all of those attributes you look for in a quiet getaway. Rebecca was easy to communicate with and pleasant. We hit the local wineries on the Blue Ridge Parkway, Floyd, New River Trail and other small, quaint towns that dot that area. The fireflies were spectacular after dark as well as the stars. On our last evening there, cows were released to graze in the field next to the house, they are always so much fun to observe up close. Great stay

What an amazing view!! Pilot Mountain in the distance and surrounded by fields and pasture. So private and gorgeous. We got to watch a family of 7 deer, including a buck with an impressive rack, graze in the next pasture over. Our dogs loved the yard, and the deck is situated so the view is at its best. We loved the uniqueness of the inside of the home, and was well appointed for making our own meals. Also enjoyed watching the World Cup semifinals on TV in the living room. Definitely putting this home on our “return to” list so we can explore the small towns in the area.

Tastefully decorated, comfortable cottage

This is a very comfortable and attractive property. It is well placed for biking on the New River Trail and for stargazing, as it is on the top of a small hill. The living room is spacious and four people could comfortably stay here.

Perfect getaway

Such a quaint and unique place! It had everything we needed, including all of the cooking gear to prepare meals with our friends after spending a day out on the bike trails. Enjoyed the Firepit and the warm, comfortable beds. And don’t forget the WOW sunrise!!! Loved this place and look forward to visiting again!

Great weekend at The Dairy Barn

We had a wonderful family weekend at The Dairy Barn in Hillsville. Rebecca was an outstanding host. She gave us lots of helpful information and answered messages promptly. The cabin was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. Great outdoor space in the backyard with a nice view. We highly recommend this rental.

Our dogs love the super thick grass in the nice yard. (Pix attached). It is great to throw the ball and burn off some energy after a long day of driving. The home and property are well cared for and well-equipped. The location is highway close for convenience, but you would never know it looking out over the meadow and mountains, from the yard, and hearing only the red-winged blackbirds singing to each other.

A slice of heaven!

My husband and I chose The Dairy Barn for a short getaway for my birthday. The property was immaculate! We got to see an amazing sunrise and made friends with the cows in the nearby field. The cabin itself is exactly like the pictures. Everything was well appointed, and the bed was so comfortable that we’re trying to find out the brand to get one of our own! The cabin was squeaky clean and we felt right at home. We hope to stay again in the future! Thank you for offering such an amazing place for us to call home for a few days! Nichole & Bryan M

This was our second year staying at the "Dairy Barn". It's absolutely BEAUTIFUL and so clean and the VIEWS! There is nothing I could think of to change it. We also enjoy the cows, deer and ground hogs....lol. LOVE this place!!!!
