Basic accommodation

Overall, this is a basic accommodation that served its purpose for a Fourth of July weekend trip. There were six of us, and I would not recommend staying here with more than that. The triple bunkbed is tight for three adults.The cabin was clean, better than expected.The hot water did not work for the first 24 hours after arriving, but it did work for the second day. I'm not sure why this was the case, but some information in a visitor guide could have helped us avoid cold showers the first night and morning.There was abundant firewood.Plan on bringing most of the dishes, pans, and campfire equipment that you want to use. While the cabin has some of these, they are clearly "hand me downs" for the most part and cumbersome to use. A fresh set of pots/pans, better utensils, roasting sticks, and a bucket for putting out a fire (to name some examples) would make it easier to stay there for a few days. This is especially necessary since the cabin is so isolated.The shower had body wash only, no shampoo or conditioner.If you're expecting the equivalent of a hotel stay, this probably isn't the place for you. If you are looking for somewhere with a living space to hang out, this is a better fit. With a few minor improvements, this cabin could be better to stay in.

Not clean at all very misconceiving listing

The cabin wasn’t clean and had an obvious rodent problem. We had to take out the garbage, wash all the linens, vacuum everything, clean all the dishes, wipe down countertops (food and rodent droppings) as soon as we arrived. There wasn’t any attempt at cleaning prior. The listing isn’t accurate in many ways. It’s actually 25 miles south of where it’s listed, there’s no way it will actually sleep 12 people. We had to clean out closets and consolidate there stuff to make some usable space for our things. I fixed two of the closet doors as well. They have a triple bunkbed That is not suitable for anyone over the age of 10 because they are too close together. We found multiple mouse traps with mostly and partially decomposed mice that have been sitting for along time. That created a very distinct smell. Yeah the hot tub was nice once we got the chemicals balanced and cleaned it as well. Im not one to complain but when there is a 300 cleaning charge and upon arrival the place is not at all clean it very frustrating. Not to mention the sleeping arrangements.There was mouse droppings everywhere you looked. We were in contact with the host and they gave us a partial refund(300 for the cleaning fee and another 300 for leaving it in much better shape than we found it)so at least they made up for some of it. We ended up leaving one day early and still feel taken advantage of but consider it a good lesson learned. I hope this helps in the future for both the host and potential guests.

Great stay for the weekend

We brought our Girl Scout troop to stay for the weekend. Cute place, great layout. Couple of the beds were not quite what we expected (twin futons in loft) but over all it was great for the # we had. Girls loved having a room to themselves and the board games were a hit. Nice room outside for yard games and sitting by the fire.

Short stay for the 4th of July weekend

We stayed at the property over the 4th of July holiday weekend. The cabin is off the beaten path near Isabella on HWY 1 tucked back from the road a bit (the map location on VRBO is incorrect). If you're looking for a homebase to go to other places or you just want to stay in with a lot of privacy then this can fit the bill. Unfortunately HWY 1 was washed out so we had challenges getting to and from Ely which was where we planned several of our activities. They do allow pets which was a big plus for us. This is somewhat rustic so don't expect 5 star accommodations. Cabin and property could use some TLC to get a better rating (for example the front screen door is broken and doesn’t shut properly).
