Vackra Lake View Home

Our Lake Hodges home was the first single family home my husband and I purchased in 1990. Raising two of our three boys in the home was the best upbringing I could have given them. The Del Dios area is truly a unique place that I could let my children explore nature, canoe, kayak and fish with their friends. In 2001 my third son was born and we had to make a decision to remodel or add onto our cute and quaint lake home. We decided to move about a mile away to the other side of the lake because taking away the integrity of the home was not an option. Our plans are to move back to the lake home once our youngest son moves off to college. Both my husband and myself grew up in San Diego area and attended college here as well. We are excited for this opportunity to open our house up for guests to experience what we have been able to have in this home.

Before we had children we purchased a condo in Solana Beach. When our first son was born we decided that it was time to buy a home. My husband was driving his motorcycle and stumbled upon the community of Del Dios aka "Valley of the Gods". Because of the excellent weather and of course the lake, it felt right. The small town, it's vicinity and a country feeling was so appealing, it wasn't long before we found our home in the community. At first, we were torn about leaving the beach area but soon became impressed with the total culture. We lived there for 16 years before making the decision to move where we now, still in Del Dios still close to the lake.

Our home is half way up a gentle sloping road. It is one of three homes on the street. The living room has 4 giant picture windows that look out to the lake with mountains as the backdrop. It's about 100 yards to the lakes shore with trails that I have walked my dogs, biked, and jogged more times than I can count over the years. Although it is not a large home, it has an open feeling with the kitchen flowing into the living room and decks. There are three decks that surround the house. One of which is off the kitchen which makes a great place to have your morning cup of coffee or watch the moon rise reflect off the lake. Over the years the other two decks have provided us excellent places to have family barbecues and such. In the yard, we have done lots of gardening and landscaping throughout the years. It's a nice area for children to play in. Many different plants and trees add to the old growth that make for a lovely scape and walk through. We have also built a large kennel for pets which will suit visitors with pets needs when out on adventures, shopping at the mall or local stores. There are great views surrounding the property and many trails to enjoy running, hiking and biking. Once you wake up to the sun cresting though the distant mountains you'll know you're in the "Valley of the Gods" .We hope you'll enjoy our lake house just as hundreds our guests have.
