Great location and Beautiful view. Kitchen was fully stocked with anything you would need. Lots of games, puzzles and books. Downtown restaurants, the grocery store and park was a 5 minute walk.

Perfect getaway

This house is perfect. Had everything we needed from everything for cooking/eating to laundry detergent. It’s right in town so you can walk everywhere but it’s also quiet. Can’t wait to stay again!

Great location, great house

Best in town location on Orcas. Views of the sound were unbelievable. You can walk to town and the grocery store in minutes. The house had great seating and dining options. The outdoor fire pit area was a great gathering place. The place is great for 2 couples. We were a family of 8 which was awkward with the 2 bathrooms since one was located within one of the bedrooms. Also the first floor bedroom, which is very comfortable, is ready for an upgrade on mattress and pillows. All that being said, we rebooked for 2025!

Wonderful place!

Beautiful house in a perfect location. Walking distance to bookstore, coffee, bakery, beach, grocery store. We launched our kayaks from the boat dock down the street. We did lots of cooking and baking - the kitchen has everything you need.

Beautiful home with great views. Short walk to the cute village and shops and restaurants. Easy access to the many wonderful sites on the island. 15-20 minute to ferry.

Love this place!

This is our second time staying at the property and we loved it even more the second time. It is in the most amazing location and is simply magical. We stayed as a family of 4 with two young children and had everything we needed. Place is very clean and tidy. Can’t wait to stay again!

Great weekend getaway

The homestead on the shore was an amazing place, picturesque, beautiful living spaces, open kitchen, modern with old charm, and the view!! House is very walkable to grocery store, farmers market, and all the shops in town. It was a very relaxing place, highly recommend.

I almost don't want to tell you . . .

this is the best rental on orcas . . .and I've stayed in many! We often struggle with just one rental car, but not in this location because everything in town is around the corner! I hesitate to review this rental because I want to be able to book it in the future and when more people find out, it will get booked up a year in advance. Incredibly clean, stocked with everything that one needs, nice and bright! If you want to feel isolated this might not be the rental for you because you're in the thick of the goings on of town, but for us that was ideal!

Great for a family getaway

My family and I loved our stay at this house. The location is perfect - you can walk to restaurants, stores, the farmers market...whatever you need in Eastsound, while still feeling like you're in a private spot with a beautiful view of the sound. The house is really nicely done - the furnishings are beautiful and the kitchen and bathrooms are well stocked. I would absolutely stay here again.

A GREAT House

What a wonderful house! Beautifully constructed and conveniently located close to town yet very quiet, our family of four adults and two kids loved our time here. The spacious and well-appointed kitchen with a Wolf range made family meal prep so much fun and drinks and dinner on the deck as the sun set was a resulting treat. Coffee, restaurants and bars, galleries and groceries all within walking distance are a special experience. A couple of minor glitches with the house were promptly and courteously addressed by the owner’s team which provided excellent customer service. Highly recommend this outstanding property. Looking forward to a return in the near future.

Beautiful views in excellent location.

Very comfortable and relaxing. Plenty of room to cook together in a large open kitchen. Enjoyed sitting by the fire pit and watching the birds and water.

Wonderfully and newly remodeled classic homestead.

Homestead is a beautiful place. Originally built in 1909, it has been perfectly remodeled to capture its classic essence while still bringing modern conveniences. With excellent south and westerly views, the sunlight filled many rooms during our December 2021 stay there. We went just after a severe snowstorm, but our host, Susan, made sure the lights and heat were already on when we arrived. The cold temperature was at first a challenge for the classic house, but the new heating units installed in the remodel (we were the first renters!) worked really well, despite a chill factor equal to 3 degrees outside. Homestead is located right in Eastsound. Everything, including the store and bakery, is less than a 2 minute walk. Given the snow, the town of Eastsound was mostly closed up, but it was still a pleasant visit and a beautiful setting. Homestead included everything you could want. Wonderful decorating; luxurious bedding and towels; thoughtful touches like throw blankets galore; a well provisioned kitchen with all new appliances; bookshelves and reading nooks everywhere; and perfectly functioning wifi. With the cold, we were unable to use the deck (with its barbeque) or the covered gazebo (with its firepit). However, I am sure in warmer months, they will be a huge part of the expereience. Our only regret would be that the large hearth in the middle of the great room was not a fireplace (populated with candles instead). That would have been a perfect touch during the cold days we stayed there. The host, Susan, was professional, solicitious and helpful in every respect. We highly recommend this property and hope to return again.

We are devoted to our special community, and sensitive to the delicate and beautiful ecosystem of the San Juans. We love to share it with visitors and ask that you treat it with good care.

We have always loved this house as an intrinsic architectural element on the Eastsound shoreline. It appears in some of the oldest photos of the town. We feel honored to have had the opportunity to give it renewed life for another hundred years.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

Sipping coffee or a glass of wine on the deck, breathing in that clear island air, and contemplating the view! We also love wandering around the village, hiking in the Turtleback Mountain Reserve, and exploring Moran State Park. We know many of the restauranteurs in town and love the many delicious varied options for an evening out.
