Denna semesterbostad ligger i sydvÀstra Vermont, mindre Àn 12 minuter frÄn Bennington centrum (men kÀnns fortfarande vÀldigt tyst och avskilt). Det finns ett stort sovrum nedervÄningen med egen gasspis / öppen spis för atmosfÀr och extra vÀrme. Det finns ett vardagsrum, matplats och ytterligare ett litet rum som kan sova 2 med stor elektrisk sprÀngmadrass pÄ plats. En spiraltrappa leder upp till ett stort loft med en fullstor fjÀdermadrass futon. Det finns ocksÄ en kÀrleksstol som dras ut i en dubbelsÀng. LadugÄrden var faktiskt en del av en stor pittoresk Vermont-gÄrd precis upp pÄ grusvÀgen (och synbar frÄn delar av fastigheten) tills den rullades ner pÄ stockar och omvandlades till ett hus för nÄgra Är sedan.

The hosts have really done a wonderful job in their barn conversion. Every area of it is cozy and warm, and put together rather nicely. The antiques on the wall and the bathtub with a large window to look out at the expansive property made it feel especially homey. It was also a really thoughtful touch to provide wood, as there are so many places around the property to light a great fire, both inside and out.

Property was well-maintained. Nice quirky touches throughout. We stayed during a time when it was warmer than usual, but the wall units and ceiling fans provided more than enough cooling. Very nice hot tub! Very simple checkout procedures. Overall very satisfied with our stay.

It’s hard to describe how lovely, cozy, unique and peaceful this place is. It’s the perfect spot for slow mornings with coffee and a spectacular view, wooded paths to explore, a cozy campfire, and star-gazing from the hot tub. Peaceful oasis

My wife and I absolutely loved our stay. The location was everything the listing said and then some. The peaceful location is rejuvenating as is the hot tub. You will be surrounded by trees and forest. We weren't able to hike the local and property trails due to my unplanned (broke my toe) physical limitations. We thoroughly enjoyed the local feel to area and the local eateries. There is so much beautiful scenery it was impossible to get to all the places we wanted. We will be back. Highly recommend a stay.

House and property are beautiful. Pictures don’t do it justice. Very private and quiet yet close to restaurants and stores. House was immaculate and the old beams and the wood from the original barn really adds to the charm.

Every step from booking to leaving was smooth. Lar’s communicated at every step.The property and home is stunning. Super dog friendly.I love Vermont and having this jewel at the corner of New York, Massachusetts & Vermont was perfect. We are originally from the area and had no idea how much it had been built up for a small town. The house was very cozy, and property was perfect for 2 dogs. We had our family of four adults. It was a challenge with one bathroom, but it worked out. We did have some issues with the lighting. The house is dark and could use some brighter lighting in some rooms and near stairs. There are lots of windows for natural light. We didn't take advantage of the hot tub or fire pit. Communication with host was excellent. Heed the warning about Ticks! They were found on both pets and people despite treatments and repellent. Still a very peaceful and enjoyable stay and would recommend for quiet time away.

Rustic Getaway!

had an amazing stay at this beautifully renovated barn in Vermont! The property is stunning, with several acres of land offering breathtaking mountain views. The barn itself is a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort, with thoughtful details that made the stay extra special. I especially loved the walking trails right on the property—such a peaceful way to start and end the day. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway surrounded by nature, this is the perfect spot. A Experience

Wife, pup and I had a beautiful and relaxing 3 nite stay on this rustic, unique property. This clean, well thought out home came equipped with all the amenities and if we did need anything, our kind and accommodating host Lars was a phone call or text away. There are a few recommended eateries and breweries nearby, but we were content utilizing the kitchen and enjoying our quiet sanctuary, which included a small network of trails right in the backyard which kept our pup busy. The wooden swing along the trail with the picturesque view is a fabulous touch. Even better... enjoying the hot tub under the stars with a variety of ornamental solar lights twinkling throughout the property was a very cool addition. A very memorable stay which has certainly earned a return visit in the warmer months so we can enjoy more of what beautiful Vermont has to offer. Many thanks, Lars for sharing The Barn and for your A-1 hospitality!

New Years Paradise

This was such a special trip. My fiancé, my parents, our two dogs, and I went up for the new year and had such a pleasant time. The house was clean, comfortable, and located within an hour of Stratton Mountain! Lars was fantastic with accommodation and communication. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

Holiday Getaway

We were looking for a place that the two of us and our pup could go and getaway for Christmas, but with a hot tub. We weren't disappointed. It was everything that was pictured and more. Would we go again? Yes! We are hoping to make it an annual pilgrimage.

A beautiful place to stay!

This property is absolutely gorgeous inside and out! It is very secluded with beautiful grounds, the inside is bigger than I was expecting and perfectly decorated to give off the secluded mountain cabin vibe, plus the wood stove is perfect. Lars was extremely nice and easy to communicate with, we will definitely stay again!

Sanctuary

This being our second time to Lar's cabin and certainly will not be our last. The cabin and surrounding property is so relaxing we find it hard to leave to explore the area. The cabin is clean, all the amenities you need and off the beaton path enough to afford you privacy. But close enough to town in case you need it. Thank you Lar's for another wonderful vacation.

Vermontbarn Shaftsbury

Place was amazing very secluded but close enough to get into town and do things. Our longest drive to go do something was only nine minutes away. Everything was as promised. The only issue we had was the back door entry. The hot tub is right there and when we were standing outside watching nature, we saw bees and wasps going underneath the hot tub. so because we were both chickens, we never went into the hot tub. I probably should’ve called the owner to let him know, but I was a little embarrassed, thinking what a big babies we are!!

Quiet Getaway

We loved our stay at the converted barn! It was completely private and super quiet. The hot tub was great, and I have never seen so many stars in my life! The house was very beautiful and felt like a home, we loved taking a look at all the decor. By the time our trip was coming to an end, we were super sad... we never wanted to leave! I would definitely return to Lars' place!!

Lars teaches high school biology, chemistry, and environmental science just outside of Philadelphia. He is a VERY avid skier who also enjoys camping, hiking, mountaineering, kite-surfing, watching the Minnesota Vikings, and spending time with his children (now young adults).

This is the perfect property to relax and unwind in total privacy. Vermont in general is a very relaxed, friendly place. Southwestern Vermont is IMO the most beautiful part of Vermont. If you are looking for stress reduction, a romantic get-away, and tons of outdoor activities, you found the perfect place.
