Come enjoy a peaceful getaway in the Catskill mountains! Snugly nestled into the side of a hill overlooking sparkling Lake Paradise, this recently renovated, spacious and updated gem can serve as a retreat in nature, a pad to crash at after a weekend at the Monticello casino, or a staging point for hitting the ski slopes. Here you can lounge on the deck, gather round the fire pit, enjoy a flick on the flatscreen or cook a tasty meal in the stylish kitchen. Staying here has something for everyone. Great summer swimming at the Peekamoose Blue Hole only 20 minutes away or Lake Superior State Park (White Lake) about 35 minutes away (make sure to purchase your passes in advance online)

Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire home and all the property. This includes 4 bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full kitchen, a dining room, living room, large deck, fire pit, and small yard. Please note indoor fireplace and wood pellet stove are decorative and we ask guests use central heating to heat the home.
Other things to note
IMPORTANT: The driveway for the house is steep and angled and requires either backing in or backing out. It can be somewhat slow / tricky without a backup camera. Please see listing photos for pictures and/or reach out to the hosts for further details.

Do not book this!

We arrived at the “Serene Catskills Retreat” and it was anything but that. We did not stay.The bottom of the parking area is a dumping grounds for the neighbor’s garbage, discarded appliances, and an old car. The steps/decks, and outdoor furniture were too dirty to use. The house was musty and very buggy, as if it had been closed up for months. The toilets had not been flushed/cleaned for quite some time and had dirt in them. There’s no AC but many of the windows did not have screens… we couldn’t even open up to cool off overnight. The chickens next door would not be a bother but they are close to the property… the smell of animal feces was strong right by the entry. The back door landing was piled with cleaning supplies and a bucket filled with rainwater was swarming with mosquitoes. We found out the day before arrival that bringing bottled water to drink is recommended.The neighbor’s property had a giant middle finger sign pointing at the house. We’re not offended by a swear word or middle finger but they were intending that for guests. We looked around, then locked up and left. We had hoped we could come to some agreement about the fees. The owner was very apologetic about the condition of the property and agreeable to our proposal of paying for the first night and refunding the rest of the stay. But VRBO has been giving us the runaround for almost six weeks now. As loyal VRBO users who always leave positive reviews, this is disappointing.

Cozy Catskill Cove!

Great host that have great response time, helpful info binders and notes to assist with everything from check in to check out. The driveway is steep but accessible even if your in a boot and crutch like myself or have a 55+ crew. Like most upstate Ny listings there will be a spider or it's web but nothing major. Thanks again for the stay!

Stay at Woodbourne home

The property was clean and the host was quick and positive in all his correspondence. The street had very little traffic and there was a nice 1.5 mile loop for walking. We spent most of our time with the activities of the area or playing games.
