Make copies of your travel details when you stay here. You will lose cell contact. We were lucky and ran across the owner to get us to the beautifully rustic remote cabin. If you enjoy complete quiet and solitude, you’ll love this place. We stayed only 2 nights but wished we’d of booked it longer.

Overall this property is exactly what we were looking for. The only disappointment was the air conditioning is a portable unit in the loft, and we picked the hottest week of the year.

The comfort of our guests is a top priority, and so we'd like everyone to know that we're in the process of getting a better A/C system installed in the cabin. We are accustomed to summers when getting out the portable unit is not even necessary. Typically, nighttime temps are around 57. Unfortunately, this summer has been exceptionally hot. Bryan has been an excellent guest, and we refunded his last night because of the heat.

This cabin and more impressively the setting is just absolutely spectacular. If you want a quiet, serene and stunning setting centrally located to all the Black Hills sites, this is the place. The hosts were wonderful, the cabin is very clean, quiet, well equipped and really terrific. Sitting on the front porch, looking out on a meadow and the Black Hills…doesn’t get any better!

This cabin was exactly what we were hoping for and more. Beautiful remote setting with a stunning view! And deer every evening and morning in the field right outside the front door. Note that this cabin is remote so make sure you get supplies in Rapid City before heading there. Besides that we loved our stay at Green Mountain.

Quiet cabin in the mountains

We had a great time staying at this quiet cabin with a family of 5. Lovely to come back to after a busy day sightseeing in the Black Hills.

Cabin in the woods

Cabin getaway was perfect! We had a wonderful stay and would recommend to anyone wanting a nice place to stay in south dakota out of the larger cities. The hosts were very welcoming and were very helpful and friendly. Woukd definitely stay here again.
