The Space:
Nestled among the shores of Frenchman Bay, this secluded oceanfront cottage offers an idyllic retreat. Its wrap around deck beckons you to unwind while being captivated by the breathtaking panorama of the bay and the mesmerizing hues of soothing sunsets.
Rent a kayak and cruise the bay, grab lobster from the local fishermen, shop at the farmers markets or go antiquing. Enjoy the close proximity of the property to amenities, yet private and nestled in 15 acres of preserved shorefront woodlands. Hiking, sightseeing, restaurants, and shopping are all close by!
This home welcomes your children age 8 and up, due to the close proximity of the waterfront. Please let us know if you wish to discuss your family!
This is an open concept one floor home.
Kitchen: Equipped with everything you need to cook for your friends and family. There is a dishwasher, built in oven and microwave, full sized fridge and plenty of dishes, pots, pans, etc.
Bedroom 1: NEW!! Queen sized bed with a full en suite bathroom and plenty of storage.
Bedroom 2: NEW!! Queen sized bed with lots of natural light and storage
Bathroom 2: Full bathroom with a walk in shower
Living room and dining room seat 6 with incredible views of the bay.
The wrap around deck offers outdoor grill cooking, wild life watching, and star gazing with little to no light pollution. This is Maine, the way life should be!
Children 8 and older are allowed. Please feel free to discuss the ages of your children and any questions you may have with us!

Had a lovely stay enjoying autumn in Acadia and surrounding beauty. The view of bay and tides was stunning and having breakfast there each morning before heading out was perfect. Using the washer/dryer after a rainy day really helped!

Amazing View

Comfortable, beautiful view

The house was very comfortable and well equipped. A small touch but Kleenex in every room was much appreciated. We enjoyed watching the tide go in and out. It was convent to Acadia National park and Bar Harbor. Would definitely recommend it for a stay in the area. We travel and have rented houses in several places but this is the first time we have had an owner call to check that we arrived safely. Thank you Susan.

Honeymoon getaway

Though we had a issue at the start, the owner and area manager were right on the spot and fixed it asap. They were very understanding and made it right. The rest of our 4 night stay was perfect. The location is outstanding, comfortable, amazing views. Quiet. Just a excellent time. They provide a lot of things for you and we will be looking forward to going back again.

Peaceful family getaway!

We stayed at the ocean cottage as a base to explore Acadia National Park and surrounding areas. The cottage was so peaceful and a wonderful break from the hustle and bustle of the national park. We all enjoyed the wildlife viewed from the deck or the living room window. My favorite was listening to the bald eagles chatter in the mornings and watching them fly past or perch out on the rocks at low tide. During high tide we had a seal that frequented the cove as well. The cottage had everything that we needed for our stay (the washer and dryer was a huge plus!) and a wealth of information on things to do in the area. It is a bit of a drive into Desert Island, but well positioned to explore the Schoodic Peninsula. Would definitely stay again if we make it back to the area!

Fabulous Frenchman Bay Cottage

Our 2 couples loved this totally secluded Cottage on the water. The views from the living room and deck were awesome. We enjoyed coffee in the morning and drinks in the afternoon on the deck as the Sun rose and set. The bedrooms were comfortable and the kitchen was extremely well equipped as was the rest of the house. There were several excellent restaurants within short driving distances. It was an easy drive in to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. One day, 2 of us chose to ride the free Shuttle from nearby Trenton into Bar Harbor then into Sand Beach in the Park for a hike along the Ocean. There were also hiking trails close to the house on Frenchman Bay. This was a wonderful overall experience and we would highly recommend it to anyone.

Great property

What a beautiful property! Well kept, private, secluded, surrounded by woods, quiet, and serene are just some of the words to describe it. Coming here reminded me of childhood trips with my family. The cabin was perfect for four people, and was well stocked with anything you might need, and things you didn’t realize you needed. Sitting on the deck looking out over the cove felt so peaceful. No boat traffic, no noise. We saw eagles, ospreys, otters, and deer. Several turkeys came out of the woods and walked right by us. A hummingbird tried to land on my knee. Seeing the stars at night with no light pollution was amazing! A walk down to the beach is a must. We enjoyed our stay, and would have loved to been able to stay longer. We highly recommend this place. You won’t be disappointed.

A taste of heaven on earth!

Such a beautiful spot and view! As I was turning the key to enter for the 1st time the phone was ringing and it was Susan, calling from CA to make sure we got there and all was well! The cottage is cozy and lovey for two couples, each having our own bath. We had one little problem with the water pressure and the caretaker was there in 5 minutes to put a new filter onto the tank to fix the problem. All four of us loved our stay and highly recommend this home. We had a visit every evening around 6 PM by the bald eagle who swooped right toward us, saw herons fishing and so close we could see the fish in their tallons, watched a doe swim across the bay to get to the apple trees on the other side. Take your binoculars as you can watch the deer at the apple trees and the next day a large flock of very large turkeys were at the same spot. Vacation at its finest! Thank you Susan and Ernie!

The location is lovely and the view from the deck is amazing. As good as advertised. Everything was clean and well maintained. I think some of the bedding could be replaced. The place had a "1970's" vibe, which has its own charm, but don't expect a modern decor. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. Would have given a 4.5 for cleanliness (due to somewhat musty bedding), but choices were only 4 or 5.

The Frenchman Bay Oceanfront Getaway was a great house. We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the tide go in and out. We even saw some seals one day. The house had everything that you need. Bar Harbor was about 40 minutes away which was not to bad. The beds were very comfortable. There was no AC, but the did have multiple fans. I would go back.

Comfortable and quiet

5 adults stayed at the home, very clean, very private, beautiful scenery, close to a town with a WalMart, Catholic church, gas station. Washer and dryer was so helpful. Thank you so much! Highly recommend this home!

Secluded paradise

Away from the hustle and bustle

After a long day of sight seeing and boat tours it’s a great place to get home to. Great views, close enough to Ellsworth to get all the food and supplies you need. Only thing to improve are the beds. They are comfy but you roll to the middle..

Frenchman Bay Ocean Getaway

The property is beautiful and the view is amazing. It is a remote, tranquil property where you can get away and totally relax. You are at least 45 minutes from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The only issue is the WIFI at the property is extremely slow.

Frenchman Bay Getaway❀

There were 4 adults that stayed at this wonderful place and there was plenty of room for us all. The cottage was just perfect in every way. (5 stars for cleanliness, 5 stars for comfort, 5 stars for location, 5 stars for everything else too!). The beds were very comfortable, bathrooms were so clean. The kitchen had everything needed from the coffee pot in the morning to the lobster pot at night. The views from the deck were beautiful every moment of the day. The cottage is located in between the scoodic peninsula and Acadia, and we were able to enjoy so much including some hidden gems. This was our 2nd time to stay here and we will be back.

A peaceful little slice of heaven

We loved our stay at this property. It came fully stocked with everything we needed for our stay. It was very clean and cozy. The kids loved the giant telescope and going down to the water every morning to see what treasures they could find. My husband and I loved waking up to the peace and quiet and just sitting out on the big deck watching the lobster boats or occasional sail boat out in the water. We would definitely stay here again.

Maine Getaway

After a 12 hour drive, it was such a relief to arrive at this lovely property. The cabin included all of the necessary essentials and we woke up to the most fabulous waterfront view! The property is tucked into the woods and very peacefully secluded. We enjoyed about a 40 minute scenic drive to Bar Harbour, as well as Acadia National Park on a daily basis.We would definitely stay there again!!!
