Honeymoon with Mixed Experiences
We stayed here for our honeymoon and had mixed experiences. Upon arrival, we found our parking spot six floors below the rental unit, and the elevator wasn't working, so we had to carry our luggage up six flights of stairs.
Inside the unit, we were greeted by a foul odor resembling cat urine. Additionally, it was very warm, and we discovered there was no air conditioning, a detail not clearly mentioned in the listing. The fan we set up only circulated warm air. The kind owner confirmed the absence of A/C and offered to send a housekeeper, but we opted to buy air fresheners ourselves due to our recent wedding gifts in the room.
The rental includes complimentary beach chairs and on-site laundry controlled via an app, which was convenient. However, the unit was so uncomfortable that we spent most of our time outside, enjoying Oceanside.
One unsettling aspect for us was the abundance of Hinduism statues and imagery throughout the unit, along with partially-burnt sage in the bedroom. While we respect the homeowner's right to decorate their space as they wish, the religious symbols were quite overwhelming. One of the statues was very creepy-looking, especially at night. We ended up covering them with towels to avoid looking at them all week.
Despite these issues, the location was a significant plus, as we were within walking distance of the beach, and the resort-style complex added to the vacation feel. This rental has potential but needs improvements.
