Unpleasant stay
Our stay started with back on forth exchanges about the check in time. We did not know prior to making the reservation that the check in time was 5 pm. Upon inquiry, the owner told us that they would let us know if the cleaners got done early. We asked if we could drop some gear early in a room that didn’t need to be cleaned, but there was no reply. As such, we had to carry heavy gear around with us all afternoon as it was not safe to leave in the car.Then, we got told that the original address we were given was not the true address, which was a little creepy.Upon arriving, there was a distinct and rather unpleasant odor in the house. We had to open all of the windows to air it out. The bathrooms were both old and in need of some updates. Chipped tub with no drain plug, for instance.Lastly, even though I asked, we did not receive our check out instructions until long after we were gone. We have rented many vrbos over the years and this one was the worst or next to worst we have ever been in. The smell… old musty smell? Or worse? We will not be returning.
