Second visit this fall to this house and did not disappoint. Absolutely beautiful sunsets from the house and stunning colors all around. Amazing weather to enjoy three hikes to fully experience the different mountains and views.

The house was perfect for a quick weekend getaway. It was just what we needed. My only complaint was that the tub drained needs to be checked after every guest. It had a bunch of hair in in from the last guest. The house was well stocked and the rest of it was clean. We would go back again.

Fabulous Cabin

This was the perfect home base for us when we hiked the nearby Great Range Traverse. The cabin is comfortable and the location is beautiful. We explored the river and loved sitting out back watching the starry sky at night. Would definitely stay here again!

Lots of great snow!

Such a pleasure staying here for the long weekend! We liked being a little out of town, and when snow came in at over a foot, Mary and Greg were very responsive with plows and help. The view was beautiful and such a nice cozy stay.

Perfect cozy spot for a family getaway

Stayed with my husband, almost 3-year-old son, and 2 dogs for a long weekend. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed for a relaxing winter vacation. We really liked the kitchen and the beautiful view from the balcony. We would definitely stay again!

Our special getaway

This is the second year we’ve stayed here. We just love staying at this cabin! Excellent views, quiet and serene, perfect location, just a wonderful cozy cabin that makes you want to come back to year after year. Weather was absolutely perfect for the week, we had a great, relaxing vacation! We look forward to coming back next year!

Mountain retreat

The property was very clean and well stocked with supplies. A very quiet area, we only saw 1 car go by the house in 4 days. We would definitely stay there again.

We absolutely loved the cabin and the property. The views were breathtaking! Close to lake placid and the North Pole. Another perfect stay

We have been at this property a few times and it’s a glorious getaway. We were finally able to descend the trail to the river. What a beautiful sight to see. This is such a clean, cozy, affordable getaway. We look forward to being back again in mid August!

Perfect Mountain Retreat

This cabin was perfect for a quick getaway to the Adirondacks. We loved the view from the balcony and the path down to the river. The cabin was cozy and comfortable, and a short drive to some great hikes and Lake Placid. Our puppy enjoyed exploring down by the river and sitting next to the fire under the stars. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful space and location!

The cabin was wonderful — cozy (it was perfect for two!), incredible views, and a great location. It is secluded enough to feel like you are in the woods, while also being within ~30 minutes of many nice towns, local attractions, hiking spots, sightseeing, etc. Mary & Greg were kind and responsive, they accommodated a booking change and extended our check out time since no one was booked after us. Would definitely recommend this space for a peaceful woodsy getaway!

Peaceful retreat close to hiking

Very peaceful location to get those zzzs when you’ve hiked all day. Ausable was running fast but we could still take nice dips at the edge. Beautiful views from balcony and gorgeous bench in the corner of property.

Nuce place...quiet. Bed is listed as a queen and it is a full which was a bummer. Some cobwebs but overall excellent. Owners came through on a special order of flowers.
