We had a relaxing week at the beach. Weather not great but we still rode bikes several days. Beds comfortable, kitchen well stocked, easy walk to beach, lifeguard right next door!

Best house for a short walk to the beach

Hidden Gem!

We had a fantastic week! The beach is so close! Up a few stairs and over the sand dune to the beach. Perfect location. Our dog Mac had a great time. He even made some friends. We met David. He is the kindest gentleman. We hung out in the front of our place which we called “ Manson Alley” and met some really nice people. So many restaurants close. Cottage had everything we needed and was very comfortable. We had so much fun! Can’t wait to go back!!

Just what we needed!

Perfect get away for us and our 2 dogos! If you are concerned about the thread count of your sheets at home, valet parking or any other highbrow nonsense this is probably not your place. If you're looking for looking for a cute little cottage on the beach that's pet friendly, you found it. It was perfect for our needs!

Fall Get-Away

We wanted to take a mini vacation with the family and dogs and come across Hootie and the Blue Fish at 2 Fish Cay. What a little gem of a cottage. Small cottage but big enough for 4 adults and 2 larger dogs. Very clean and owner checked on us more than once to ensure everything was okay. We definitely plan to make a return trip next October!

Hootie is a hoot

We rented the cottage for 5 days and brought our pup along. The place was clean and well stocked with cleaning supplies and toiletries. The owner even left a treat bag for our dog. We enjoyed our stay at this property and the location.

Prime location!

The long weekend stay at Hootie and blue fish was amazing! The location is great and just a few steps away from the beach! The cottage is clean and have a nice kitchen for cooking! A great choice if you plan for a family trip to OBX!

Cute cottage in awesome location

This is our second time staying at this location. We chose it the first time because it was dog friendly and on the beach. You can’t beat the location and the price, so we came back again! We take our bicycles and ride them everywhere. Located across the street from Tortuga’s Lie and Galaxy Golf and next the public beach access, Which is handicap friendly. The owner, Dave, Is a great host and makes you feel welcomed. We will definitely stay here again when we return! Thanks for everything, Dave!

4th July vacation

Great cozy right off beach cottage. Easy access to the beach and all attractions. Owner checked with us upon arrival was very friendly and told us to make him aware of any problems we might encounter (there were none).

The cottage is a good size, was equipped with the basics. You need to bring linens, towels, etc. but I typically bring them anyway. A grocery store is nearby and easy drive. Access to the beach is incredibly close, just up the stairs and over the dune. If you need easier access, the public access with bathrooms/handicap ramp is just across the parking lot. The cottage was clean, not the way our house is clean, but clean enough. There are some obvious repairs that need to be done, but I'm sure they are an off-season endeavor. You'll also need to register the Fire stick to your Amazon account to watch TV - just remember to deregister when you're done. The owner was friendly, quick to respond to inquiries! Negatives? Not many for a small old OBX original cottage. But, although the cottages are Pet Friendly you will need to walk your dog to get to any grassy area, it's not safe to just let them out the door. Also, the grills are not usable at the moment - the grates in the Weber kettle grill is rusted nearly through. A $20 fix per grill for the owner, but we just bought a throw away type charcoal grill at the Ace Hardware and we were good. Overall, we'd stay there again if we head back to OBX in the near future.

AC was not working

This is the second time I stayed at the property, the first time was very enjoyable. This time the AC was not working and couldn’t even sleep at night. We left a day early because it could not stand the heat inside the house.
