My family and I enjoyed hanging out in beautiful Mission Bay . The house was perfect for all of us. The kids loved the bay being footsteps from the house. Perfect for our group.

Wonderful property. Perfect for family/group. On the beach! The driveway parking was important. The entryway and turf front yard was a great relaxation spot. Street level entry right into huge open kitchen with oversized island, dining table and family/TV area. The upper level balcony looks right onto the beach and lower level hot tub relaxation area. Upper level has two great master suites with bathrooms and there is another half bath in the upper level hall. Downstairs into one queen bedroom and another bedroom with two beds. Shared bathroom for downstairs room. Rest of the lower floor has the game table, another TV and large sectional. Opens onto patio with more turfed area and lounge chairs, table and hot tub. Locked gate leads right to the sand.This spot was perfect location for lazy days in the sun as well as launch point for trips into San Diego and Coronado. Close to services, food and conveniences. Kitchen was completely appointed with everything we needed to cook. Open patio doors and windows provided a great breeze. Island and dining area provided a great gathering spot. This property had it all and checked all the boxes for our family vacation. Could easily see ourselves there again. Thank you!

Thank you for the kind review! We are sorry your stay was not 5 star! We did look back on the communication string and it seemed all was well, no complaints or questions regarding the home! For anyone reading this review response, always let your host know why your stay was not 5 star so they can strive to improve! Also important to note that this home is undergoing a full remodel to kitchens and baths! So this 4 star review could have been based on the age of the home. But after March 2026, the unit will be fully updated! Hope to host anyone reading this far and thank you for the consideration! :

Amazing house, views and activities!

House is clean, beautiful and very well laid out. The views are amazing, and it’s a great area. Host is friendly, responsive and helpful. My wife and I had our three kids (6, 8, 10) and this house and area was perfect!

Fantastic Stay!

We had a group of adults and all thoroughly enjoyed our time at the house. Clean, comfortable, great location, beautiful views and plenty of toys to keep us busy. Cindy was always available and easy to get a hold of if we needed anything. Would definitely recommend!

Mission Bay Stay

Loved watching the sunsets every evening as most night it was clear and stunning. Loved drinking coffee in the morning looking out over the people enjoying the bay.The house was very well equipped form kitchen, to linens, to toys.

There were beach toys galore. Paddle boards, kayaks, bikes. plenty of beach towels. Just wonderful !

We had a great time. The house was well equipped in the kitchen. Even plates, bowls, and cups for toddlers !!

Beach rental

The location was fantastic, & the unit was as advertised. We worked very hard to follow all the owners rules for pets so other people could bring their pets there. Mission beach is such a great beach to be able to bring dogs too.

Wonderful house and location for our family

We really wanted a few days of relax time as a family before school started again and some of our kids headed back to college. This was a great place to do that! It's on the water and supplies good condition paddle boards, boogie boards, beach chairs, kayak and life jackets. It's close to a nice beach on the ocean. There's plenty of space to spread out. We had a nice time!

Great spot for a family escape!

The property and location were perfect for our family! We enjoyed a few local restaurants but most of the time we didn’t leave the property except for walks and bike rides around the bay. The property management company was one of the best we have ever experienced…super responsive and thorough. The house had a kitchen with plenty of dishes and platters for a full house of guests. We would highly recommend this property if you are looking for a home on the bay that has plenty to do and space to spread out without leaving the area!

Family Paradise on Mission Beach

Love the beach location and all the space for our family of 8 + a toddler! Loved the big tables inside and out for family meals and card games. The amenities were fantastic—-kayaks, paddle boards, sand toys, hot tub, fire pit, ping pong table we used them all—-6 of us took the house bikes to Belmont Park!! Oh yes and we used the grill 1 night, it was spotless! Beautiful views and sunsets, not the amount of foot traffic that you get on the west side of Mission Beach! Couldn’t have enjoyed our stay more!

Mini family get-away

This was the perfect place for our family to gather for three days. Part of the family arrived from the Dallas area. The property was easy to get to from the airport. We had ages 2-72. Every one had a great time. We enjoyed all the toys and access to the beach. Loved the evening sunsets fire pit and jacuzzi. Already talking about doing it again next year. It was just as advertised.

Great family vacation

This house is in a perfect location for our family. The house itself is wonderful with plenty of room for everyone to spread out. There are 2 living rooms, a great balcony upstairs, and a wonderful patio and yard. The house came with everything to make the stay fun. There were bikes and paddle boards and kayaks and sand toys. We could walk and bike to local restaurants and shops, and otherwise it was a 5 minute drive. My family is already asking if we can do it again next year. This could be our go to place.

Perfect location!

This unit was perfect for my family of 4 and another family of 3. The unit was clean and comfortable with all the amenities you could ever need. From the beach toys in the closet, games, extra towels and dishes and the perfection of being right on the beach was better than we imagined. sitting on the porch with our coffee while the kids played on the sand and people watching on the boardwalk took over our mornings. The owners responded quickly to any issues that arised and were professional and courteous to help us figure it out as fast as they could. I would recommend a stay here for families with or without kids, I’m sure you’ll be as happy as we were!

Quiet location with plenty of room

Great family spot that is quiet and calm (water), but with plenty of things to do for both kids and adults. House is spacious and airy in main living spaces, bedrooms are small but completely fine, bathrooms are vintage and could use some updating. The kitchen is galley style so isn't great for group cooking, but everything you need is there! We had 3 young children in our group and brought our own toys, potties, booster seat and eating utensils, but a booster and several pack n plays are onsite. Highlights are the bikes and bike trailers, ample beach toys and perfect location. Hosts were very responsive to all our questions and needs, it was a great trip!

Celebrate With Family

Property was a perfect fit for our large family getting together to celebrate a family milestone. The children especially enjoyed their "beach house" considering the availability of the water toys and the bike rides around the bay and playing in the sand. The paved path was busy during the day with walkers, joggers and bikers but quiet at night allowing the adults to relax and enjoy the view across the bay. The hot tub was a welcome amenity for all. The only surprise we encountered was the owner's request to remove shoes inside the residence to protect the hardwood flooring so bring your house slippers.

Excellent house right on the bay

We recently spent 21 days at this awesome house. There are so many great things about this house. I think other reviewers have mentioned how it is right on the bay, so the location is perfect. You can step onto the beach from the back patio. If using a bicycle there is access just about 2 houses away to just ride down to the beach. The downstairs closet has all the beach toys you need, and the upstairs garage has bicycles with helmets and even a ping pong table you can pull out. In addition to the location and all the toys, there is a lot to like about the house itself. We have an older dog and the front fenced yard was excellent - it was great to give him a little space to smell and watch the people walk by. It is also beautifully landscaped with succulents and a lemon and mandarin tree. The kitchen is well stocked - we cooked soup and steaks and even did a little baking and it had everything we needed. The beds are comfortable and the showers are good. While we were there it felt like our 2nd home and we found the house very comfortable. The downstairs couch is super comfy. We also enjoyed the fuzzball table downstairs. We liked that you can go downstairs either inside or outside -we found the outside stairs easy to use, especially when we needed to carry our dog (he is pretty old). We spend a few weeks in San Diego every year and this house has been our favorite. Oh - most importantly - the AC and heat actually work. (We’ve rented a few places where they say they have AC /heat, but it doesn’t work effectively.) I didn't even mention the outdoor gas firepit and the hot tub - we only used the fire pit - but just know it is a great place to be - just being at the house and on the beach made our time exactly what we wanted. The Biggest, Best Surprise!!!!

I began planting the seed of surprise in December. My oldest son who lives in San Diego was turning 40 in March. Yikes!!! Getting his NC brother and family on board, considering weekend sport activities, was my challenge. It Worked!! I looked at the VRBO site for days. Keep in mind, I never did this before....always stayed with him. 🤔 However, his house is under major renovations. When I came across this home on Mission Bay, I knew it was absolutely perfect for a long weekend gathering. Having two young grandsons, geared me to a home that offered something for all ages under one roof. Bringing the "kid" out of all of us...leaving the rigors of everyday life behind. Shuffleboard was the # 1 hit of the weekend. We all agreed the warm inviting decor and breath taking view of the bay, the minute you walked through the front door, brought a feeling of relaxation and peace to everyone. My daughter-in-law made up a story to get my son to the house Friday morning. For me, it was waiting for Santa to arrive. When we opened the door, he was in shock to see us and to hear he was staying at the house for the weekend. Only gets better!! My son has wanted to take his brother, and hockey player nephew, age 7, to a SD Gulls game. So that was surprise # 2. I had ordered tickets for Friday night on line for the 3 of them. The stadium was 10 min from the house. Wahoo!! We settled in to enjoy all the eminities the location and home had to offer including the incredible sunset on the bay Friday night. On Saturday we enjoyed Ping pong, biking, walking, shuffleboard, beach toys and people watching from the deck and patio. I ordered food from Phil's BBQ for surprise #3. While my son was kept very busy playing on the patio his close friends arrived and gathered on the first level of the house. As we scurried by the dining table his wife called him from the deck for his help. My wonderful daughter-in-law, Kelsey, videoed his sudden surprise as he walked up the stairs. Our youngest guest was 1 month old. 👶🏻 It was surreal to see his friends with children of their own. All amazing parents. Although, the marine layer was not kind on Saturday and Sunday, it didn't prevent us from enjoying the bikes, kayaks, paddle boards, and playing in the sand. Having a locked gate by the main front entrance of the house and one for the beach access was very comforting with a 3 yr old. It was a wonderful weekend being under one roof. We were all sorry to have it end. The Big Surprise!
