Home presenterades som R. I. drömsemesterhus 2010. Ljust öppet rymligt modernt ladugårdsstil med en konstnärs eklektiska inflytande. Huset har en stor L-form lindad runt skärmad veranda, bra för underhållande och avkoppling, och på kvällen (när allt är tyst) kan man höra havet och känna sydvästliga brisen. Verandan leder ut till en Zen-dusch utomhus. Huset har två sovrum och två badrum och ett halvt badrum. Mycket av vardagsrummet är öppet. Köket är i galleristil med rostfria vitvaror, lätta träskåp, slaktbänkskåp, några öppna hyllor och tallgolv. Halva badet och tvättstugan är utanför köket. Det finns ett sovrum med ett badrum på första våningen. Öppen spis är konstnärens design en unik blandning av kooper och zink med sten och medaljer. De vita blekta älghornen placerade över eldstaden (lägger definitivt lite karaktär och kompletterar utseendet på denna eldstad) (de är på en tappad kopparmontering som används som en konversationsattraktion kastades naturligt och återanvändas som en miljövänlig konstform. ) Belysningsarmaturerna är signerade handblåsta glas på industrimedalj i hela huset. Ägarna har fyllt väggarna med lokal eklektisk originalkonst. Hemmet är iscensatt med en blandning av konst, antikviteter och kollektiv dekor.
Trappor till andra våningen har räcken i stålstål, som ger en nautisk känsla. det finns två trappor, en leder dig till ett stort öppet loftområde som används som ett kombinerat familjerum, kontor, träningsrum, det fungerar också som konstnärstudio. Det stora sovrummet w / det egna master badrummet ligger på en separat trappväg w / en liten catwalk & sittplats ingång. Befälhavaren badet har en separat duschkabin w / stenstrand / stengolv, fåfänga har 2 fartyg sänkor. Det blötläggande jetbadet är inbyggt och omgivet av travertin som ger en organisk känsla under ett stort takfönster. Wonderful house!

This was a last-minute getaway so we were pleased to find such a great place available. Lots of space - and lots of art and cozy spots to sit! Especially loved the screen porch.

Beautiful escape in Little Compton

The property and location exceeded our expectations and were perfect for a visit to Little Compton with our college-age daughter. Abby was incredibly helpful with recommendations for restaurants and things to do. The kitchen comes fully equipped for cooking and the house has everything you need for a beach trip. The house is beautifully decorated, full of lovely art and thoughtfully arranged. We loved the screened-in porch for meals. We look forward to staying in this peaceful retreat again!

Little Compton Getaway

This is a great house, just like it looks in the photos. Abby and Len met us when we arrived and could not have been more welcoming. The house and gardens are beautiful and catch lovely ocean breezes. The location is peaceful and quiet. We look forward to coming again.

Relaxing Little Compton Retreat

Just an amazing and relaxing way to spend a week in August. The Artful Barn is an idyllic retreat and provides great spaces for sharing meals, fresh air, and reflection. Owners have the house ship shape and well appointed with everything you need to enjoy your time in LC. We will be back!

A Beautiful Retreat

This is a beautiful home with every creature comfort. The paintings are masterful, the reading selection eclectic and interesting, and the gardens as creatively designed as the house itself. Owners were very accommodating...even buying new yard games after our inquiry of available outdoor activities.

The perfect escape

Beautifully designed and built by the owners, this “barn” was delightful to have as our temporary home. Filled with artwork and books on art, it made for a wonderfully relaxing place. We ate most of our meals on the spacious screened-in porch. It was a serene setting and close to a beach and farmers’ market. Abby was a gracious and helpful host, certainly deserving of 5 star status.

If you have a discerning eye and prefer high quality finishes in the home you rent on vacation then this is the place to rent! If you love and appreciate landscape design, want a peaceful and quiet retreat, this is the house! If you are looking to be close to the beach but not on one, then stay here! And if you really love art and art history, great books to peruse, stay at the Art Barn! And, if you want to walk around naked after using the outdoor shower, this is the place! PRIVATE!! Amazing home in the perfect location!

We had an amazing week with our family in the Artful Barn. Abby was a wonderful host full of great recommendations (we discovered LC Surf Camp and Sakonnet Vineyards thanks to her!). Her home is absolutely beautiful, in an idyllic country setting, and is perfectly located directly in-between the Commons and the beach. The backyard is elegant and is situated so nicely for sunsets and the outdoor shower after the beach is the perfect way to end the day. If you want to experience the tranquility of Little Compton in a first-class setting, this is your house.

Perfection!

We had a wonderful stay at Abby and Len's Art Barn. The house was absolute perfection. Plenty of cozy nooks for us to each have a good dose of peace and quiet. The backyard with the wildflowers and the bunnies was also a favorite spot to sit and read. The property is on a very quiet private road, and we enjoyed being away from all the sounds of traffic etc. We would stay here again in a heartbeat - and we most deffinitely did not want to leave. Thank you Abby and Len!

Extraordinary

The home is every bit as charming as advertised, and there is no square inch without evidence of the owner's artistic temperament. It is about a half mile from South Beach/Goose Wing Preserve, which we took advantage of every day. The beach is uncrowded and very beautiful. We had not been to Little Compton/Tiverton for several years, and we found plenty to do. Our host, Abby, was very attentive, and when one minor internet issue arose, she and her husband Len jumped on it. We look forward to returning.

Ultimate in relaxation

Abby and Len have a beautiful, unique home with an abundance of stunning and varied pieces of art, including many of Abby's own paintings. As they say in the listing, it is not a beach house per se, but it is a very short drive or ride to several public and semi-private beaches (i.e., ones you can reach only by bike or on foot). The owners supply all you need for preparing and serving meals in the house, and multiple options for indoor, outdoor, and hybrid -- screened-in porch -- dining. Not to mention all sorts of places to sit and relax.

Beyond Your Imagination

The Artful Barn was way beyond anything that we could have imagined. The house itself, is located in a serene area with many peacefull fields, fruit stands, a lovely beach, and the unspoiled village of Little Compton, was an artistic masterpiece that was furnished by colorful paintings by the owner and other artists. The first floor featured white furniture from Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware that was immaculate. The first floor bedroom was very charming and had its own bathroom. The second floor had a beautiful master suite and a luxurious spa. The kitchen had a sub-zero fridge and all of the cooking equipment that you would need to create goumet meals. The taste and care of the owner is fully reflected in the collection of earthware-colored tableware and unusual lighting. The grounds were filled with beautiful and exotic plants and flowers, topped off with an outdoor shower that is covered by red and orange hibiscus flowers. The house itself is five minutes from a wonderful beach for small children and several farm stands, along with a general store that sells the best take-out food in the area. There is no traffic in this village, only the same peace and quiet that is projected by the artful barn. Don't miss this extraordinary opportunity!

Luxe Coastal Eclectic!

Great stay! All the best of South Coast RI/MA living! Picturesque pastoral site close to incredible farm stands, lobster pound, beaches and Four Corners for shopping and snacks. House is very well-equipped, has beautiful light, and reflects the heart and soul of the artist-painter. 10/10!

From the farms, fields ,stone walls and hay -bales that we see from the road side .... it's the natural beauty one sees and the area has not changed. It's as it was spending my summers here as a child and it's the same today .... Unspoiled.
