Detta nybyggda (2012) rymliga 3 sovrum / 4 badrum hem ligger på 2 privata tunnland gränsar till Arenal Volcano State Park. Varje rum har sin egen terrass med utsikt över gamla Ceiba Tree och utsikt över vulkanen Arenal och Lake. Den öppna orienteringen låter svala berg vindar att flöda genom hemmet. Njut fritidssysselsättning i vår bar / -rum och svalka dig i vår pool eller koppla av i bubbelpoolen med direkt utsikt över den sista aktiva ytan av vulkanen. Perfekt för grupper / familjer (sover 6-12 personer). Njut av måltider tillagade av vår personliga kock (tillgänglig på begäran) eller laga din egen kulinariska skapelse i vår fullt utrustade gourmetkök. Städning tillhandahålls varannan dag. Tvättservice finns på begäran.

Beläget några minuter från El Castillo, Sky Trek zip-line Canopy Tours, kajakpaddling och ATV uthyrning. Häst turer till vattenfall eller fisketurer på sjön eller Rio Frio kan ordnas. Massage finns på Blå Lagunen Spa bara 500 meter uppför kullen. Hot Springs och La Fortuna är bara 30 minuter bort. En flykt från den dagliga stressen i arbetet för en vecka i paradiset kommer att föryngra din själ och anslut dig med vad livet är tänkt att vara.

Fastigheten ligger i anslutning till jungfrulig molnskogen. Utforska miles av vandringsleder genom regnskogen som leder ner till den närbelägna Rio Piedras Negras. Vrålapor, tukaner, vilda kalkoner, papegojor, näsbjörnar mundis (aka pizotes), tayras och mer kan regelbundet fläckig från huset och i närheten.

Beautiful home with gorgeous views

Beautiful views of the lake and surrounding area. The property was well maintained and very safe. It had a well stocked kitchen and plenty of towels for showers and poolside. Plenty of room for gathering inside and out. The pool and hot tub was a welcomed addition. Private balconies for each bedroom. It was absolutely amazing!

Spectacular View

Very comfortable beds and accommodations. Great locale to venture out from, hikes, butterfly conservatory, and Fortuna a great town and restaurant up the hill is a gem.

Arenal view

We rented the house solely because of the view of Arenal. On my previous trip, it was hidden by class the entire time. Views were incredible. House had plenty of room, pool was enjoyed by the kids, Jim was super responsive, and overall a nice time was had.

Private slice of paradise!

This home was everything and more! Home was gorgeous and clean! Pool was refreshing, a/c units worked well, communication was fast and easy...perfect! This house is about 30 min from LaFortuna but worth every bit of the gorgeous drive! You won't be sorry if you rent this home...you just won't want to leave!

Incredible view of Lake Arenal!

This place did not disappoint on location. It is off the beaten path but the view is worth it. Don’t let the road up intimidate, it’s an easy road in all conditions with the right vehicle. The kids loved playing in the pool while we sat on the deck and enjoyed the 360 degrees of beauty. Fit 12 of us fairly easily and I never felt that we were on top of each other while staying. The owner and manager were very responsive and easy to communicate with.

10/10 for setting, view and wildlie watching

This home has the most amazing setting overlooking both the volcano and the lake. It is absolutely stunning! There is so much wildlife and incredible bird-watching right from the porch. The nightly chorus of tree frogs and howler monkeys just makes it that much more special. The pool and jacuzzi were a bonus and the house was comfortable, though needed a little more attention to details. Nothing major, just minor things. Overall all, a great place to rent.

Relaxing, easy, spacious

Our family of 5 stayed here for 3 nights. Our 3 young daughters had a blast. We explored the town la fortuna, butterfly observatory, hanging bridges, la fortuna waterfall, hot water springs nearby. Ryan at Al patio carbone has the name of the hot springs that has multiple pools. We had a blast. The house was laid out great, very clean, Stephanie is great that lives next door. The only downside is the bathrooms are a bit dated but totally looked past all that as we were in Costa Rica and our family was having a great adventure. If you want to use the hot tub give Stephanie at least a 3-5 hour warning so it gets warm. We felt safe and relaxed the entire time. The local food spots near the home that we ate at were nepenthe, Al patio carbone and a really cool spot called essence by the butterfly place. We would definitely recommend. The host was easy to work with.

Beautiful views away from the bustle

We enjoyed our time at this lovely home. We didn't end up using the pool because it was a bit cool outside in the evenings when we were at the house but the jacuzzi was wonderful. Alan greeted us and gave us the tour of the house and answered our questions. He suggested dinner at the restaurant just up the hill. It was good. The first night we had a beautiful sunset over the lake but the volcano wasn't visible. The next morning, the volcano was visible and the birds were active. We had the cook make breakfast for us the first morning. It was quite good. When they found out our adult son had been sick the previous few days, the went and picked an herb in the yard and made a tea for him to drink. They didn't speak any English and we didn't speak much Spanish, but somehow we communicated enough. The last morning we stayed at the house, I walked up the road just to the crest of the first hill. I discovered an avocado tree with a lot of parrots happily making noises and enjoying the avocados. That was a real treat. We saw other birds but not nearly as many as we were able to hear singing all around the house. The house was clean and well cared for. I would recommend this to other families.

Brief but not disappointing

Our stay at Casa de Ceiba was abbreviated by Mother Nature who decided to throw consistent torrential downpours into the usual dry season. Had the weather cooperated, this property had just what we were looking for in our vacation - fabulous view, great outdoor seating areas, pool, and the ability to get away from it all while being close to numerous outdoor activities. Jim was extremely responsive to all inquiries, provided lots of information to make us feel comfortable right from the start, including putting us in touch with his contacts for rental cars, really making this a no worries booking. We were greeted by Allan upon arrival and were shown around the property. He stayed long enough to answer all questions we had, and gave some recommendations for close by dining. Do be aware, this is a 2.5 hour drive from the Liberia airport, though it realistically not that far away. The road is long, steep and curvy , to put it mildly, but again, the scenic views are fantastic as you drive along the lake. We did not use 4 wheel drive to get up the unpaved hill to the house - it is what one expects in Costa Rica. The weather made things interesting at times, but certainly not impassable. If you want to be near the Arenal Volcano outdoor activities, but be away from it all at the same time, Jim's property makes perfect sense.

Beautiful location over seeing the landscape, volcano and lake. We enjoyed everyday of our stay. Great location, enjoy the pool everyday. The rooms were very nice and had ac, fortunately we didn’t need to really use them. Sliding doors made it nice to open and get natural air to come in and flow throughout the house. Great hot water and pressure. Loved this place…

Such a beautiful hidden gem - incredible views of Lake Arenal, the volcano and the lovely grounds, including resident toucans in the trees!Jim’s home is perfect for a family or a group, with a pool and multiple balconies overlooking the property, lots of space to stretch out and kitchen amenities for making meals. Stephanie, the caretaker, lives next door and was incredibly responsive when we needed help. The home is very secure and quiet - the perfect oasis close to the Arenal National Park, hot springs and other adventure activities. It has a more remote feeling than staying in La Fortuna, so is perfect for those looking to get away from the typical tourist hot spot. Jim was incredibly communicative and had loads of great resources to share. The road up to the home can feel intimidating, but the views once there are more than worth it.

Great property and location

My wife and I stayed here with my parents and my brother and the space was perfect for us. The pool and hot tub were great and the view was absolutely breathtaking. The road up the hill to the property can seem a little intimidating at first but it's really not bad at all. The location is nice and secluded and close enough to La Fortuna without being too far. Overall we loved our stay here

Beautiful home. Immaculate. Amazing views. Owner was helpful and a young person who manages property is next door for anything that comes up. It is a little hard to get to but well worth it. Lake Arenal and the volcano are right there. Lots to do within reach.

Amazing

We stayed first week in March. The location and view was amazing. Beds were comfortable. Several good restaurants nearby and decent variety store for supplies at the bottom of the hill otherwise a 30 minute drive to the supermarket in Fortuna. The actual owner, Jim, is who you deal with and he was an amazing resource answering the many questions I had before coming and while there about local attractions. He provided super descriptive directions for the final part of the trip including pictures and even a video of the drive up the mountain. This came in handy when my phone ran out of power and we lost google maps use. Found the place without it easily. Didn’t really need 4 wheel drive but the extra clearance of an SUV probably helped as it is a bumpy road up the mountain but really no problem. The weather was great. Used the pool everyday. And it was nice to have Netflix and Apple Tv for the evenings. All in all we loved our stay there and would certainly stay there again if ever back in CR

Beautiful views. Could be cleaner

Although a little out of the way from a lot of the activities we did the views from the house of the lake and the volcano were beautiful. Host was very responsive and provided a lot of good information for our stay. The only criticism that I would give of the house is the overall cleanliness. The kitchen was quite dirty. It didn’t appear that the countertops had been wiped off. The table cloth was stained as well as some other linens. The pots and pans were not great for cooking although they got the job done. Body wash was provided in bathrooms but no shampoo or conditioner. Would have been nice to have some beach towels available. Would also be a bonus to have access to a washer/dryer. Easy fixes. Overall great house and host.

From left to right: Jim, Wes, Josie, Robin. Our family first visited Costa Rica in 2010 and fell in love with the Arenal area. Two years later, we spent our first week in the new house. Jim and Robin are retired and split our time between our US residence and Costa Rica.

Varför värden valde detta boende

You'll hear many stories about people that visit Costa Rica and experience an epiphany or an awakening. That's what happened to us. We began searching for land in Aug 2010 and found the Old Ceiba Tree lot and we completed construction in the Fall of 2012. There is an energy that one can feel when you are there; it's indescribable but undeniable. Once you experience it, you'll be going back over and over.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

We designed the home to bring the outdoors and indoors together. There are floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding doors that open to lake and volacano views. The cool mountain breezes flow thoughout the home. The temperatures average about 75°F year round so no air conditioning is necessary (but optionally available in the bedrooms). We get our pure crystal clear soft water from a mountain spring ('naciente') that is about 6km in the virgin cloud forest. At night the temperatures typically drop about 10° and in December and January you might even need to put a fleece on to stay warm. Being on the edge of the rain forest, we get a lot of rain but if you wait an hour the weather will change and when the sun pops out be careful because you can get a sunburn even when the sky is overcast (ask Josie). Each room has a terrace facing the lake/volcano side of the house. Be prepared to rise early to the sounds of howler monkeys that frequently spend the night in our guarumo tree (a favorite hangout for all kinds of monkeys and birds) or the cacaphony of loras (red-lored parrots) that reside in the area.
