Peace and quiet in the wilderness

Our family was looking for a place to escape the noise of the busy area we are from, and Joe's place was perfect. With forests surrounding it, and most of the seasonal homes empty, it was lovely and serene. For those who love nature like we do, it was perfect. It's a close drive to the Schoharie for swimming or just listening to the river, it's near Diamond Notch Falls (with a brewery on the way), and it's close enough to Windham, Tannersville and Hunter if you desire a restaurant. While there we saw a planet in the night sky (it was cloudy or we would have seen more), heard owls in the night and did some good bird watching from the back deck. The home is surrounded by maples that will glow with fall colors! Comfortable, roomy, clean, well-equipped, it truly was a retreat! Joe was so accommodating, and personable. I highly recommend staying here!

Great time

My family was very happy renting this house for a long weekend ski trip. The homeowner made the check in and out very easy for us. We would certainly rent again next time we can get away.

Catskills Getaway

Perfect for a secluded summer getaway into the mountains. The property itself was clean, well maintained and had everything we needed. Also close to great hiking, golf, and Windham, Hunter, Phoenicia and Woodstock.

The place was nice and clean when we showed up. Things worked out perfectly for the six of us. Having the grill helped us save a few bucks on meals also. Owner was very easy to work with.

Great house in the woods!

Great location, wonderful kitchen, super attentive owner! Try this out, you will be happy. Joe is great to work with, lots of info about the area and very professional about the details. We loved the hiking in the area and the quiet vibe in the nearby towns. Already planning to go back when the pandemic is over because we feel we couldn’t really appreciate some of the areas charms while so many things were closed. The upside was less people around though! The house is small, but well laid out and the kitchen has clearly been modernized, which is a must for us. The back porch is a great place to eat or have morning coffee, it was my favorite spot in the house. Oh, and the AC is a real plus. It was hot and humid while we were there and we appreciated the AC more then we had expected to.

Lovely Place

House was clean and nicely decorated. Location is private, deck facing forest. Owner was very accommodating. Air conditioning excellent. One problem we had was that the doors self-lock, we stepped out for a moment, closed the door out of habit and locked ourselves out. We had to wait four hours outside in the heat without cell phone or car keys, until we managed to reach the owner, who was out of town, and sent his daughter to rescue us. Owner should make arrangements to keep a key local for emergencies. We found the mattress in the main bedroom and pillows less than ideal, but overall we were quite pleased, and rated stay excellent.

Cute and Cozy Cabin upstate thumbs up!

The home is just as pictured. It was perfect for me my husband and our grown children. The Catskills at this time of year (autumn) are stunning. We went to the Windham Autumn Affair, apple picking back across the Husdon, and to Howes Caverns in Cobleskill. We would stay again at this property!

Very quiet location close to the ski areas.

House was cozy and clean and had what we needed for a great week of skiing and relaxing. Very private location with room to walk around with a view of Hunter Mountain from the kitchen.

Cute Cottage away from it all ... warm and inviting and close to Windham and Hunter Mountains

The house was great for us ... new kitchen and bathroom were clean and fresh, and the whole house was nicely restored. House was very comfortable and had a nice mountaintop view sitting on a cleared and wooded lot. We were very close to Windham and Hunter and went to both resorts during the week !
