Welcome to Lake Front Getaway. This house is all decked out with fun for all guests! Surrounded by mature towering pines, right on the lake (Metcalf Bay). It’s an idyllic mix of forest, lake, adventure, and serenity for your getaway.

Occupancy (12 adults, 2 children) and car limit (5) are set by the city. They will enforce these. If found to have more than we are licensed for, you may be fined and evicted with no refund. Please adhere to these limitations. Many of these rules are set by the city and must be followed.
4x4, AWD, and or chains required to be carried in winter months (Oct-May)
No bath/spa towels to the lake
Spa usage only 7AM-10PM (city rule)
No Smoking of any sort in the home
No Parties
No Street Parking
Quiet Hours after 10p
Bright exterior lights off after 10p
No outdoor music that can be heard at property line
No open wood burning fires (propane firepits are allowed)
No fireworks
Upon Check Out
Wash dishes (load and start dishwasher)
Pick up yard of trash, cigarette butts, lids, bottles ect
Leave used beds as is
All used towels can be piled in bathroom (all linens are cleaned off site)
Close any open windows & doors.
Turn off lights
Lock up
Do not turn off heaters in winter months
Cleaning Fee- nonnegotiable. This covers clean linens, cleaning of bathrooms, kitchen, floors, basic balancing of spa chemicals, and basic cleaning of the home. This does not cover left trash, excessive messes, dirty dishes, pet messes, excessive shedding. The home has deeper clean items that happen 2-3x a year.
Early check-in- No guarantees will be made. If the home is ready upon your arrival, we will let you have access. Do not show up to the home until given the code. This rushes the cleaners and tends to ensure something is missed.
Late check out- No guarantees. This is based entirely on the cleaning team’s route. It is only granted night before checking out. If you’d like to guarantee checking out later, book another night. This allows you to stay a whole night or leave at any point during your reservation time. Please note, we do charge if you delay the cleaning teams by not vacating the entire property, not just the home. The cleaners will not knock to let you know they are there. Please be respectful of their time and any guest checking into the home after you.
Animals- Pets- We only allow fully trained dogs, with a 2-dog maximum and non-refundable pet fee. No puppies or other types of animals are permitted. We do provide poop bags and treats. The property is not fully fenced. Additional charges may occur to urine/feces, excessive fur, or damage to the home due to pet. Please keep in mind we are in the mountains with many predators. We are not responsible for the safety of your pet.
Cooling- Like most homes in Big Bear, this home does NOT have air conditioning. There are fans provided. Keeping windows open overnight will cool the home. Peak heat is 1p-5p. If air conditioning is important to you, reach out. We have a few homes with AC type options.
Snow Removal- We have a snowplow on call during winter. Please be patient as they are on their own route. Our plows come out after a storm when 4+ inches fall. We do our best to shovel the entry to the home. Decks are not guaranteed to be shoveled. Shovel and salt are provided at the home for your convenience. Please bring snow removal tools for your vehicles as we do not provide that.
The home does have cameras at every main entrance to the home. These are checked periodically to ensure occupancy and car limits are adhered to. The cameras view the driveway, front entrance, side entrance, back entrance, and garage entrances to the home. The hot tub does not have a camera on it, but there are ones viewing the general lake access.
No refund will be made for cancellation due to weather, road conditions, acts of nature, mechanical failures, electrical failures or malfunctions with spas, TVs or other equipment, or for sighting of insects, rodents, or other animals. No refunds will be made for circumstances beyond the Homeowner’s control. Rescheduling is allowed if all roads have been closed into the area for 24 hours of check in time. Chains are often required and should be always carried. They may be needed to get in or out of Big Bear or your rental.
We are located in the mountains. There are wild animals that live among us. Animals you could encounter could be but not limited to coyotes, bears, mountain lions, donkeys, rodents, insects of all types, chipmunks, squirrels. Our homes are maintained by Terminix for general pest control.
If all house rules are followed, then no extra charges will occur! Ultimately be respectful.
