Beautiful place

This property in Altadena was perfect for when my friends were in town for a visit. Located at the top of a winding road in a beautiful, safe neighborhood, it conveniently has two full bathrooms, a kitchen, and two bedrooms. It'll be a bit of a drive to get wherever you're want to go but that's true everywhere in Los Angeles! As a local Angelino, this is exactly the kind of home I'd want any of my visitors from out of town to stay in.

Loved this place

Remote as we wanted to be. This home was a great location for a couples getaway. We used this location, with a car, to travel to CA to attend a football game at UCLA. We definitely would stay at the property again. Go Hoosiers!

Quiet and peaceful but close Cal Tech

The property is small but very well done and everything you need is there including a complimentary bottle of wine which was very nice. My wife and I were there for the week as our 17-year-old attended a tech camp at Cal Tech. The neighborhood is friendly and quiet and close to hiking options. I would highly recommend staying here.

Inside the property was nice and clean all the stuff was well organized and clean. I feel like the outside just needs to be cleaned a little more because there were a lot of spiderwebs. Overall it was a nice place to stay and beautiful.

The beds were super comfortable, the wi-fi and TV worked great and the kitchen was well stocked with kitchen ware. It was super clean. The property is nestled in the foothills and is super quiet with very little traffic. All in all a great stay!

Cozy home in a quiet neighborhood

My parents and I were in Altadena for a wedding and stayed at this lovely little home. The host left some goodies for us upon our arrival, which was much appreciated. The house was clean and stocked with everything we needed.

Family visit !

Visited adult son in LA and along with adult daughter had a wonderful visit. Dinners in worked out well as it was an equipped kitchen. Outdoor grill also was nice to have. Great hiking nearby and overall was everything we wanted.

Older neighborhood, quiet

The property is showing its age, some exterior dry rot. There is a leak from some pipe under kitchen sink. Need upgraded hairdryer in master bath. But a quiet, pleasant neighborhood (other than a fire in carport across the street during the night with 5 fire trucks responding). Grocery stores and finer restaurants are some distance away. Surrounding hills/mountains are quite lovely.

A great mid century condo with outdoor space. Fit 3 to 4 adults well. We used the BBQ and oven. All worked well. Only wish there was a string of outdoor lights on the patio so we could have eaten outside after sunset.

A Great Getaway

My wife and I immediately loved the property. Compact, but not tight, it had everything we could have wanted, from the inviting living space and patio, to the well appointed kitchen and comfortable bedrooms. Our only regret was that we didn’t have a few more days to spend in this great property and attractive neighborhood!

First time renting in California

Short winding road to this location from the main avenue. The property was super clean with comfortable beds , a comfortable sofa and chair and a nice patio. A few furniture pieces were well worn, though. We appreciated the books and although we just watched one tv at times, we had access to Netflix! We would stay here again. Note- I was under the impression I would see the mountains outside the door or windows but that wasn’t the case. We usually rent beach condos on the Gulf so my expectations were not realistic. We did see mountains coming and going from the apartment.

All the comforts of home

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed in this home for two weeks in January and found it very comfortable. We were welcomed by a gift basket of treats which was a sweet touch after a long day of traveling. It was so nice to have a private patio with plenty of seating options and even a grill (which we never got around to using). It was also great to have a washer and dryer on hand. The furniture was comfortable. The bathrooms were clean and updated. The gas fireplace in the living room was a big plus for the cool winter evenings and made sitting in front of the TV a cozy experience. At one point the water heater died and our host was super quick to respond and had it replaced immediately. The neighborhood is lovely and I'm glad I got to experience it. I had not stayed in the foothills before and I like to walk for exercise, but hadn't realized how steep some of the streets would feel to me! I thought I'd walk the 3/4 of a mile down the foothills but soon realized I wasn't going to be comfortable walking the turning stretch of road that crests the canyon and has very little room for a pedestrian on the drop-off side and no room on the other side. Instead I drove down to Pasadena and walked the (flatter) neighborhoods there. Pasadena is not far and there was plenty to do and see there, but we always enjoyed coming back to our place in the foothills, as it had all the comforts of home and felt very private.
