Denna vackra, stora fyra sovrum, två badrum hem och egendom gränsar till Whynaughts strand (sandstrand) på Atlanten är 30 min från Halifax på Nova Scotias södra strand. Det är omgivet av en livlig gemenskap och nedsänkt i lokal kultur. Den nordliga gränsen till fastigheten ligger på "Rum Runners Trail", en naturskön 107 km preparerad spår (idealisk för cykling, promenader, fyrhjuling eller snöskoter) som går från Halifax till staden Lunenburg, södergränsen ligger vid havet. Peggy's Cove och andra natursköna enheter och platser ligger i närheten genom att ge dig en upplevelse av viktiga Nova Scotia-liv.
Hemmet har fyra stora sovrum (med generöst garderob och lådor) och ett mycket stort, fullt utrustat kök samt ett rymligt vardagsrum med gott om solstolar och vacker utsikt. Det är perfekt för antingen ensamstående familj eller för flera familjer. En stapelbar tvättmaskin och torktumlare finns i övervåningen. Ett stort främre däck med stolar och bord med utsikt över stranden är en perfekt plats att se dina barn leka om en hel dag på stranden inte är din grej. Det främre däcket är utrustat med en kokgrill. En kaffebar komplett med en espressomaskin finns i matsalen. Morgonutsikten från de främre två sovrummen är spektakulära när du tittar på de lokala fiskebåtarna går på jobbet.

Hemmet är utrustat med en bärbar barns spjälsäng, barnstol och joggestol på begäran. Luftkonditionering finns i varje rum (utom barnrummet på grund av brandkodereglerna) samt bottenvåningen på bottenvåningen. Internet-klar 4K-TV, wifi, kabel, Netflix och en fast telefon (endast lokala samtal) tillhandahålls. Hemmet har bra mobiltelefonmottagning.
En stor livsmedelsbutik och andra stora stadsfaciliteter ligger 12 minuter bort i Upper Tantallon. Mindre butiker finns i närheten. Ytterligare stugor som hyrs av andra ägare ligger bredvid om större grupper vill resa.

Perfect family getaway

Our family of five stayed here over the Thanksgiving weekend and had a wonderful stay. The place is comfy and there is plenty of lounging space for all of us. Love having all the games and books. The kitchen is very well equipped (the best we have had after renting many places over the years.) There is so much to explore in this area. Doug and Kelly are great hosts!

Like Living in a Magazine!

This house was spacious, immaculate; beautifully decorated with comfortable beds and an amazing view of the ocean! I loved watching the sunrise every morning. This was a good base for us to see the area from Halifax to Peggy's Cove to Lunenburg. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit in this beautiful home!

Excellent house, great location, helpful hosts

This house is centrally located for visiting many of the most popular destinations along the South Shore. It is very near several beaches and just a few minutes drive from the restaurants and a grocer in Hubbards. Tastefully furnished and well equipped, it is also thoughtfully supplied for visitors, e.g. boxes of tissue paper and night lights in every room. The hosts respond quickly and are most helpful.

Amazing views

Can't beat the views and we have stayed at over 20 VRBO's. Beach down the road and although the street can be a bit busy it was still quiet. Great location for getting around including Halifax not being that far away. Good communication and stocked kitchen.

Beautiful home!

Five retired ladies on our 24th year of w/ends away and have to say this was one of the best! The house is stocked with everything you need for your stay and the ocean directly across the street is a game changer! We went to two beaches in the area and a lovely market just down the street on Sat. Our group will definitely rent this property again, the hosts were excellent with their communication and answering any questions we had.

Great stay for family & friends

Great stay for friends and families A beautiful home that is so well decorated with the beach theme. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The host has thought of so many tiny little things to make your stay comfortable. The view from the front door is so magnificent and unreal. We used the bbq as well and enjoyed our time visiting nearby towns. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable and we used the many amenities that came with the house. We were two families and the kids had a fun time at the beach. The place is truly a gem. I highly recommended this place.

Paradise in Hubbards

We absolutely LOVED this cottage. It is very spacious, clean, well appointed with everything you could need, including beach towels and chairs! I reached out to the owners several times and they responded very quickly. The location is heavenly - right across the street from a beech. We were four adults and four kids. There was a swing for them to play on and lots of deck space for them to spread out on. My husband really enjoyed the selection of books and read three in just one week. I can't say enough good about this cottage!

Lovely home in Queensland

Doug and Kelly’s home in Queensland was lovely. It is very clean and brightly decorated. All the bedrooms were large and comfortable. It was great for the rooms to have their own Lenox heating/cooling system for individual comfort. The bathroom was generously supplied with beautiful towels and convenient laundry facilities. They were wonderful hosts, understanding of our delayed arrival due to the IT outage, and responsive to our questions and needs. It is very conveniently located to Halifax one way and Lunenborg and Peggy’s Cove the other way. There were 7 of us in our group and it was very comfortable. We would be happy to stay again if we return to Nova Scotia.

Whynaught Choose A Little Slice of Heaven by the Sea

As soon as I walked through the door, I wished our stay was for much longer. Not only is the location excellent, but the care, cleanliness, and comfort of the home was beyond our expectations. Short stay at Queensland Beach area

Over-all the property was clean and well appointed. The owners have decorated the cottage with very tasteful yet homey maritime theme items. They have also done a very good job of thinking of every little thing a renter could use when staying there. We were very impressed by the quality of the provided equipment, appliances and dishes etc were all good quality and working well. We also appreciated the inclusion items that are difficult to bring along when flying (which we did) , bulky items like beach towels, coolers and beach chairs were all provided which made the trips to the beach very comfortable. The adjacent beach was very nice and it was a 3 minute drive to Queensland beach. We have loved this area for years and staying at this property made it even more enjoyable. We also appreciated the nod to environmental responsibility by providing a good-sized recycling container and reusable Keurig coffee pods. Our only issue with the trip was that we couldn't stay longer.

Wonderful location

This wasn't just a holiday for myself and my brother and sister(hubby came too)! We are half Nova Scotian and doing family genealogy. As our family are from the South Shore, house was a great location for this. It is a lovely home,extremely well equipped. Unfortunately, we experienced Hurricane Lee and the loss of power. Thankfully, Kelly has a generator, which her sister Wendy and husband installed for us. Which meant we had some power and importantly water! They kept us informed about events, during the 3 day outage. We all had a wonderful time at the house. We highly recommend The Mug and Anchor Pub in Mahone Bay. Brilliant food at very reasonable prices. Also highly recommend The Oak Island boat trip, with Tony

Great location

We had great weather. Central location. The property needs a bit of fixing ( window cracked, back deck needs work and the barbecue shold be replaced). The house is large, nicely furnished and the decor is excellent. The view of the water from the front deck is great! Highly recommend staying here!!!!

Amazing Stay!

We just love this beachside cottage! It accommodates us all and is in a fantastic location, across the road from a beautiful beach. It's a very short drive to Hubbards for most amenities and for complete necessities, it is not much further than a few minutes to Tantallon. The hosts are wonderful and easy to communicate with for any questions we had. This is the fifth year in a row we have stayed here for a wonderful family get together and look forward to next year!!

Very cozy and comfortable home in a great location

We have rented a lot of VRBO homes for our past holidays and this is one of the more comfortable. The seating in the lounge area was plentiful and very comfortable. All the beds were VERY comfortable, the full sized laundry worked well and we found everything we needed to cook a couple of meals for the family (spices are very limited so keep that in mind when shopping). We didn't find a great restaurant nearby but many options toward Halifax. We would love to return in the fall or winter and enjoy the water views with a roaring fire! Also I wanted to mention that the owners proactively reached out the day before we arrived to let us know the unit was ready and that we could check in early if needed and they were very accommodating when we needed to make an adjustment to our original booking. Strongly recommended!

Staycation in style

The house was lovely and did promote and encourage a feeling of relaxation . There was ample room for the kids and the adults to liesurely lounge around inside on rainy days . The proximity to the beach was on point with what we were looking for . Although we had many rainy days we took advantage of everything this staycation had to offer us . Trips to Chester for brunch and a walk , Hubbards to Mayas for fish and chips after a swim . Saturday market for fresh eggs and craft beer to enjoy back at the house . Kids played games , watched Netflix and Disney with their cozy blankets on the rainy days and practiced their cartwheels indoors . We walked to Queensland as soon as we saw the sun and later took advantage of the beach across the street . We loved coming back to this home , it was something to look forward to !!

Listen to the waves and relax

The gals of our group (former work colleagues), had a lovely stay at Kelly & Doug's VRBO in Queensland, NS. The home was beautifully decorated, comfortable, offered all the comforts of home (and more), plus a stunning view of the ocean across the street. It's close to a few beaches, restaurants, grocery store, liquor store and fun shopping opportunities. I would definitely recommend a stay here. :-) Thanks for having us! Tracey

Hosting during a hurricane warning

Kelly and Doug were wonderful hosts. Their home is beautifully and comfortably decorated. Thoughtful amenities provided such as toiletries, coffee, food wraps, oil and spices. Perfectly located to travel to Halifax, Peggy’s Cove, Chester , Mahone Bay, Lunenberg, near golf courses and several wonderful restaurants. There is a beach across the street and the porch provides a place to appreciate the bay. From the moment we were aware that Hurricane Fiona would strike Nova Scotia at the tail end of our visits , our hosts were in constant contact, coaching us through our concerns and offering the flexibility of extending the stay should the situation dictate. Kelly and Doug, thank you for sharing your welcoming home and your care and concern for our safety

We are two Canadians currently living in the US and purchased this home as a summer rental and getaway for ourselves. We are frequent travelers who have rented many properties and love this style of travel. Important features we look for when we travel are comfortable beds, ample and comfortable lounging spaces, a well equipped kitchen (we love to cook,.. and eat of course), an ambiance for relaxation, a conveniemt location, and cleanliness. Our goal was to make our place exceptional in these areas and we think we have accomplished that. We are very familiar with the Halifax area and are happy to answer any questions or make any suggestions that may make your visit better. We welcome you to our home.

This area has a great significance to us as Atlantic Canadians. We both spent some of our university years here and we hope to retire in the area.
The surrounding community and oceanfront living has a vibe that goes perfect with relaxation and a glass of wine. The city of Halifax is close by as are many small towns with a great taste of Nova Scotia character. We feel this area is a great representation of what Nova Scotia really is and are happy to share it with those who want to experience the Atlantic Canada culture. We are very proud of this slice of Canada and hope you enjoy it to its fullest.

We loved the ocean views, the large living room, and the views from the bedroom windows. The ocean waves are heard throughout the house. Mornings here are a freshness and a tranquility that's hard to explain unless you experience it.
