Home was fine, details were a struggle

Home was fine, truthfully the stress came when talking with Vacasa around understanding the parking and getting bounced around trying to figure it out right at the start of the stay put a damper on the trip. We were fearful to move our car once we got there as all the spots were constantly filled by afternoon. One point got asked to go to the local office (50+ minutes drive away) to clear up confusion or to simply use parking.com for a place we were told would have 3 available spaces for our unit. To clarify we later found out from a neighbor it was 9 public spaces... that were first come first serve between all the units on site. No clear instructions on trash or wifi either. Conflicting quiet hours instructions of either 9 pm or 10 pm, to be safe we just went with 9. Vacasa has done better in the past, this location just seemed to be difficult for them.

Not Worth It

We had such mixed feelings about this rental. First, the positives. The location was great! Oceanfront building and centrally located on the island. Easily walkable to multiple shops and restaurants. The kitchen was fairly well stocked with good quality pots and pans. There were multiple fans and the air conditioning worked very well! Now the negatives
 It was unclear from the listing that this building does not have an elevator. This unit is on the fourth floor. It does have a very slow luggage lift. The checkin instructions did not include specific directions for using the digital lock. We were locked out with all of our luggage for almost an hour waiting for Vacasa to provide support over the phone. After some Googling, we were able to find a solution ourselves. Upon entry, we noticed that the floor was absolutely covered in sand and dirt. After further inspection we hypothesized that only the bathrooms had been cleaned before our arrival. The living room furniture was pretty grimy because of the dirty floors. The bedrooms only had two warn out pillows each. We later found extra pillows in the closets, but felt uncomfortable using them since they were being stored on the filthy floor. Throughout our stay we continued to find random trash and junk stashed in drawers and closets. Overall, we would have been satisfied with this rental if it cost half as much. The unit has good bones, but it needs a good deep clean and some new furniture.
